So in this brief meditation we're going to allow our mind to rest,
To shift off of its autopilot,
Its busyness,
So that we can tap a little bit into our intuition and we can discover what's important for us now.
So allow a few breaths to rise and fall,
You might gently deepen your breath and use those breaths as a way of arriving to yourself,
As your way of coming into the presence of your body,
Allowing your exhalations to be a letting go and a release.
And taking a moment to just remind yourself that there's nowhere else you need to be and nothing else you need to be doing.
That taking this pause in your day is going to help you to move forward afterward with more focus,
With more energy,
And with a clarity of what's important now.
So you'll allow yourself to just settle into whatever position you're in,
Seated,
Standing.
Feel the jaw soften,
The shoulders drop.
And with each breath as it comes and it goes,
You're able to release any sense of urgency,
Any sense of rushing or needing to do it all.
Knowing that everything you need is right here in this moment.
Begin to notice your body in space and connect to some sensations that are apparent to you.
So maybe you're resting your hands in your lap,
You can feel the temperature of the skin,
You can feel the weight of the hands resting.
And whatever you're sitting on,
Can you allow yourself to be supported,
Whether it's by a cushion or a chair?
Feel the earth rising up beneath you,
Supporting you and holding you.
Feel the eyes resting back into their sockets and see if you can let the skin of the eyelids unwrinkle,
Smooth skin.
Can you feel the brush of your lashes?
Can you sense the heart beating in your chest?
Its unique rhythm.
Can you become aware of any distracting thoughts?
Anything in the mind that's preoccupying you.
And with each breath,
Imagine that you're creating space between those thoughts.
Can you feel the temperature of the air?
And perhaps noticing now the body and the mind relaxing by taking these moments.
When it feels right for you,
You can inwardly ask the question,
What's important now?
What's important now?
Knowing that you need not struggle or search or effort your way to an answer.
That simply asking the question and being open to receiving an answer will guide you.
What's important now?
Inviting a deep,
Long,
Smooth breath in through the nose and feeling welcome to take a sigh through the mouth.
As you feel ready,
Perhaps using any answers that arose for you,
Anything that came up as a way to move forward with the rest of your day.
