I created this visualization after my uncle passed away. It was my mom's brother and I knew how hard of a time she was having so I wanted to give her something to help her through it. If you've experienced any sort of loss, this is a good place to work through it. You'll get the chance to sit with your feelings and let go of anything that needs to come out. Give yourself time to allow any thoughts and feelings to come up and sit with them in your body before releasing them all. Show compassion, love, and kindness toward yourself during this difficult time.

Welcome to your guided visualization for loss and grief.

I want you to start by finding a comfortable position either laying down or sitting cross-legged on the ground.

Now let's start taking a deep breath in through your nose and slowly exhale out through your mouth.

Take a few more deep breaths and start scanning your body.

Notice any different sensations and where they are in your body.

Notice where you feel this grief and loss in your body.

Now when you found that spot I want you to take your hands and put that put them over that area.

Now when you take another deep breath in I want you to bring your breath down into the area where you're feeling the sensation of grief and loss.

Breathe in that air as you feel your hands sending love and light into your body.

Notice the temperature of your hands.

Notice how your body reacts.

I want you to just take some time to sit with these feelings.

Allow whatever needs to come up to come out.

Whether that's silence,

Whether that's crying,

Yelling,

Maybe even laughing.

Allow yourself to feel the feelings with compassion.

Now I want you to say some compassionate kind words to yourself.

Allow yourself to feel the love and care emanating through your breath and through your hands.

These feelings are only temporary and you do have the strength within you to move through them.

This is your time to allow any thoughts and feelings to come up to sit with them in your body.

This is your time to send love and comfort to yourself and to your body.

Give your body whatever it needs in this moment.

Know that you always have the tools within you and you can always come back to stillness when these feelings of loss and grief come up.

Now let's take a few more deep breaths in through the nose and slowly out through the mouth.

Let's take two more deep inhales at your own pace and on your last exhale breathe out any feelings or emotions.

Breathe those out through your mouth.

Anything that's no longer serving you.

Now wherever your hands are placed I want you to pick them up and give them give yourself a hug.

Wrap your arms around your body.

Just give yourself a squeeze sending love and compassion and kindness to yourself through these through these tough times.

Let yourself know whatever it needs to here.

Now you can place your hands gently on your lap or on by your side and when you're ready you can open your eyes or if you'd like you can drift off into sleep and know that you can always come back to this guided visualization.

You need some time to work through any thoughts or emotions that are feeling a little intense and know that you always have the tools within you to work through anything.

Namaste.

Thank you for integrating somatic work vs the usual lovey dovey fluffy meditations.

Thank you. My brother just died. It’s incredibly hard to believe he’s gone and the stages of grief and pain are very real and strong. I very much enjoyed your meditation. It helped bring to light that my brother gives the best hugs. Thank you.
