Good morning,
My name is Candice and thank you for taking the time to join me today and allowing me to share my practice.
Today I'll be teaching you a guided meditation for beginners with a focus on finding your bliss.
Meditation is simply focusing on the breath.
We'll be sitting here for about maybe 10 minutes or so today just doing absolutely nothing.
And by focusing on the breath,
We can't focus on the past and we can't really focus on the future.
So we're living in the present moment by focusing on the breath.
And when we just sit here and do nothing,
This results in usually two things.
It relaxes the nervous system,
Releases tension and it can calm the mind.
But it also creates space in the mind for new things to arise,
Ideas,
Solutions,
Acceptance.
Today we'll be focusing on taking a lot of deep cleansing breaths to find your bliss.
Breathing in through the nose and out through the nose.
Unless you hear me say to take a deep cleansing breath or let it out with a sigh,
Breathe in through the nose and out through the mouth during these cleansing breaths.
Today we want to focus on what's blocking us from achieving a blissful state of mind on each inhale.
And then think about letting any of those blockers or limiting beliefs go on the exhale.
This is just anything that's blocking you from feeling happy,
Joyful or full of energy.
I could be as simple as a thought.
I can't because of this or I can't because of so and so.
Practice replacing any of those thoughts that started with I can't with I believe I can,
I'm going to or I'm already doing it.
To get started and come into this space,
Go ahead and take three deep cleansing breaths.
Deep breath in through the nose,
Long breath out through the mouth.
Deep breath in,
Long breath out.
One more deep breath in,
Long breath out through the mouth.
You want to get comfortable now whether you're laying in your bed,
Maybe sitting on the couch or even laying on your floor if you need a little bit more stability today.
Shouldn't you start to close the eyes?
If you're not comfortable closing the eyes,
Soften your gaze in front of you or soften on a spot on the ceiling.
You can just start at the top of the head.
Just with each breath just relaxing all muscles in the face,
Relaxing the throat,
Relaxing the jaw,
Dropping the tongue away from the roof of the mouth,
Relaxing the shoulders,
The chest with the breaths in and out just noticing the rise and fall of the chest.
Follow the next breath down into the chest and then deeper down into the belly.
Just feeling for a moment the air swirling in the belly.
Relax the belly,
Relax the hips,
Follow the breath down into the legs,
To the knees,
To the calves,
To the ankles,
Into the feet.
Then the next breath going all the way down to the toes.
Maybe feeling a slight tingling sensation as it reaches the toes.
This next breath,
Follow it down into the shoulders,
Branching out into the right shoulder,
The right arm,
Your right elbow,
Your right wrist,
The right palm.
Maybe feeling a little bit of energy in the palm of the hand as the breath reaches the hand and then moves all the way through the fingertips,
Maybe causing a slight tingling sensation as it reaches the fingertips.
Move this air now to the left shoulder.
Relaxing every muscle in the left shoulder,
The left elbow,
The left arm,
The left wrist,
Closing just for a moment to feel that energy in that left palm as the breath reaches the left hand and then moves slowly into the fingertips,
Maybe warming them slightly and feeling again that tingling sensation.
Take a deep breath in,
Slow breath out through the nose.
Nothing is required of you in this moment.
Nothing needs to be done.
You are loved.
You are safe.
Simply give yourself permission to come into this space,
Letting go of any expectations that you might have had coming in today.
Take a deep breath in,
One breath out through the mouth.
What is it in this world that gives you the most joy?
Is it creating something,
Teaching something,
Teaching someone,
Inspiring others,
Taking care of others?
Do you like to sing,
Dance,
Or play an instrument?
Do you like to draw or create something?
Try to make your gift that you were born with as clear as possible in your mind.
Take a deep cleansing breath in through the nose,
Slow breath out through the mouth.
Now think about how it would make you feel if you could use your gift every day.
Would you feel happier,
More joy?
Would you feel more alive?
Deep breath in,
Long slow breath out through the nose.
Did you figure out your gift?
That one thing that makes you unique as a human being?
Let it go on the next exhale.
You don't have to do anything.
There's no work to be done.
There's nothing you need to know,
Nothing you need to get.
Your subconscious mind has already gone to work for you.
You trust the process.
As human beings,
We forget sometimes to listen to our hearts,
To do more of what feels good and sparks joy in our lives.
We get distracted by the thoughts and opinions shared all around us,
Online,
Offline.
And sometimes it can make us feel like our lives aren't quite good enough.
But here's the thing.
It's all about your perspective.
If you feel happy,
Then you are happy.
If you feel like you have enough,
Then you do have enough.
If you feel more joy,
Then you will have more joy in your life.
Deep cleansing breath in,
Long breath out through the mouth.
I'm going to give you a few moments now.
Quietly meditate on your own.
Just focusing on slow breaths in through the nose,
Slow breaths out.
L some punch with your fingers,
And relax whole body in,
Soothing the efforts with your If the mind has started to wander off,
Simply guide it back to the present moment.
If the mind has started to wander off,
Simply guide it back to the present moment.
If the mind has started to become busy again,
Simply guide it back to the breath.
Slow breath in,
Slow breath out.
Just remind yourself that it doesn't need to be busy today.
Doesn't need to think.
Doesn't need to solve anything for you.
Simply focus on the breath.
This next breath,
Focus now on the heart and be placing a hand over your heart so you feel the heartbeat.
Just notice for a moment now the heart and as it beats,
It reminds us that we're still alive.
We have life.
We have purpose.
Think about that gift,
That unique gift that you were born with.
What have you been hiding from the world?
What have you forgotten?
Give you permission today to find some time or a way to share that gift with others and to find your bliss.
Start to come back now into the space,
Gently wiggling the toes and the fingertips to wake the body back up.
And when you're comfortable,
Slowly make your way back to a comfortable seated position,
Maybe keeping the eyes closed for a moment longer as we follow the next couple of breaths in and out.
