Lesson 7 – Relapse and Self-Compassion A relapse is always likely due to acute stressful situations that arise in our life or from traveling and jet lag.

Our biorhythms are sensitive.

Negative emotions can also trigger the insomnia.

Life is unpredictable and change can have consequences.

For whatever reasons this relapse occurs,

It is important to catch it right away.

View it as a small step back that is easily corrected.

Check on your sleep environment.

Check on your negative thoughts and use the guided meditations along with sleep scheduling to get back on track.

You now have plenty of tools in your sleep toolkit and positive affirmations such as this is only temporary and I can handle it and I can improve my sleep by using my new skills.

These techniques have proven to work within 6 weeks of practicing so please use patience and perseverance and of course do not worry about it too much.

Lighten up your space,

Lighten up yourself mentally,

And lighten up your physical body by not having heavy meals at night that can keep you awake with indigestion.

Remember you are still the captain of your ship of dreams.

Everything in your life can be broken down into one concept and that is your level of self-compassion.

How full is your self-love tank?

Do you care enough to give yourself the loving attention and positivity it takes to live a healthy and happy balanced life?

Do you believe you deserve a full night of deep healing,

Restful sleep?

I think you are on the right path because you're listening to this course and trying to bring balance to an important part of your life.

Be kind to yourself by limiting that negative self-talk.

Along with your bad sleep pattern you may have also created a harsh and judgmental inner dialogue.

It is time to end the self-recrimination and self-blame.

You are always doing the best you can.

Remember to speak to yourself with kindness as you would someone you love.

Use a term of endearment like honey or dear one.

It will seem weird at first but with time it will be the most natural way of communicating with unconditional love and forgiveness.

The trick is to befriend yourself to befriend your sleep.

Thank you for taking this journey to your dreams with me.

And thank yourself for showing up for your self-care.

Sweet dreams everyone.
