Waning Crescent Moon Meditation For Releasing

The Waning Crescent Moon is the last lunar phase before the New Moon. It's a wonderful time to take stock of what you'd like to manifest in the coming days, and what you'd need to release, decrease, or set to the side to make way for the new. You may wish to have a glass of water as well as a journal and pen nearby so you can write down your intention for this meditation and note any insights you have. Feel free use this meditation during any waning moon phase. Note that the main part of the meditation features music with a Solfeggio frequency of 417 Hz, purported to aid in undoing situations and facilitating change. The very end of the meditation features 12 Hz music for returning to a relaxed but alert state of awareness. Music: "Mind-Body Calmness" (417 Hz) and "Concentration" (12 Hz) by Music of Wisdom.

So,

This is a releasing meditation that uses the symbolism and the energy of the waning moon.

So,

You probably already know the waning moon is all about releasing,

Diminishing in intensity.

It's about clearing something more fully,

If that's what's for your best and highest good.

And as you may know,

The moon very reliably revolves around the earth.

It reflects the light of the sun to us.

That's why we see it in the night sky.

It also reflects some of the light from earth back to us.

That's pretty amazing,

But it's just part of a very natural cycle of waxing and increasing and waning and releasing until the next phase of the moon.

Right now we're in the waning crescent.

It's the last phase before we reach the new moon and begin again.

So it's a great time now to shift or clear or set aside things that we know it's time to so that we can make space to embrace something new and potentially really meaningful and beautiful and adventurous perhaps and wonderful.

You may decide that you just want to turn down the volume on something in your life and then turn it up again later.

Also fine.

And if there's something that you are ready to move on from completely or simply just move a little farther out again,

You get to decide what it looks like.

So I'd like to now invite you to get a little more comfortable,

Even more comfortable,

Whatever that means for you in this moment,

Whether a little bit or a lot,

That's all good.

And breathe.

And again,

If you've brought a pen and paper and you'd like to jot down something,

This is a good time to do that as you set your intention for this meditation,

It could just be a word or a phrase.

So notice if anything comes to mind that you would like to move center stage in your life or increase or draw to you.

And notice if in order to attract what you really want for yourself or embrace something more fully,

If there's something you need to decrease or let go of altogether or to retire or simply move to the side,

Even just a little bit to make room for the new.

You can even imagine writing it on paper in your mind.

So wherever you are in that process now,

You can just focus on your breathing once again,

The most natural thing in the world.

And just as the moon affects the tides as they move in and out,

You can imagine it helping your breathing,

Your inhalation,

And your exhalation to flow so very naturally.

Just allowing your breath to relax your body and your mind.

Inhaling ease and exhaling everything else.

Just noticing how this relaxes your muscles,

Creating a sense of spaciousness.

And on the next inhalation,

You can notice again,

Just how this helps you to feel calmer and yet more refreshed.

And you may imagine that you're exhaling out through your lungs,

Which you are.

And you might even see this in your mind's eye.

And you can even imagine that you are exhaling through the soles of your feet or through every pore in your skin,

Just allowing any tension very easily and pleasantly to drain away.

Just notice how wonderful that can feel.

As you continue to breathe for the time being,

You may notice feeling a bit more immersed very pleasantly in your inner landscape,

Whatever that is right now.

Allowing yourself to feel more in tune with how your breathing again creates space for something greater within you,

For whatever you need in this moment,

Or for whatever you'd like to embody,

Or however you would like to feel.

Creating space and clearing that path for whoever you would ideally like to be.

And as you continue to just breathe very naturally,

Just observing your breath rather than even feeling like you need to change it in any way,

But just noticing.

As you do this,

You might imagine yourself now in a beautiful,

Natural setting.

Just noticing the light of the crescent moon above you,

Illuminating the night sky.

And it may very well be that in this lovely inner space,

Your path becomes clearer and clearer.

And you can notice now what you desire more of,

And how best to create space for this.

And you can allow yourself to experience this beautiful inner landscape with any or all of your senses.

So you may feel your feet as they connect with the earth,

Or smell the fresh,

Clean air around you,

Exactly the right temperature for you.

In the mind,

All things are possible.

Notice what you hear and sense.

Maybe the moonlight reflecting on a nearby body of water.

It really doesn't matter.

Just allow your wisest self to create exactly the right setting for you.

And as you remember,

In order to receive,

Sometimes we need to do a little bit of metaphorical housecleaning.

And identify and release the things we know it's time to let go of.

Or at least put in proper perspective.

Or set aside for the time being.

Or perhaps decrease or diminish in some way.

Because as we clear some of these old things away,

Or move them to the side,

Or shrink them down to size even,

The path forward to what you really want can become so much easier to see.

Just notice how your wisest self presents all of this to you.

As you notice any tools that you wish to clear,

Or perhaps some outdated ideas or old patterns,

Weighty emotions,

Things that no longer serve you,

Or no longer serve you in the same way.

It may very well be that,

For some things,

You're completely unconflicted about being ready to set them aside.

And you can imagine releasing them as if you were taking a broom and just sweeping them out the door and letting the winds carry them away.

Or perhaps there's a part of you that feels more at the beginning of this process,

And you'll want to do this in stages or over time.

And that is completely and perfectly fine.

Wherever you are in this moment,

You can honor your feelings.

The journey is yours to take.

And sometimes it may very well be that something you would like to change your relationship to may be something that has felt very good and beautiful.

And it'll be like a photo that you place in an album with other memories that you can revisit.

And think back on fondly.

But that doing so will help you again to orient your energy and your tension forward.

Again,

Just honor your feelings.

This is your journey to take.

And you can do so very lovingly.

Acknowledging how old ways of being may have felt necessary at the time or even served you very well.

And in the light of this beautiful waning moon and with your own highest guidance,

You can feel more and more confident and self-assured,

Lighter and clearer,

Knowing exactly what to do.

So I'm going to be quiet for a few moments so that you can walk this path in your own way.

And then in a few moments,

We'll begin our journey back to the gift of the present.

Wonderful.

And again,

In this very beautiful and wonderful space within,

You can send yourself love and gratitude for engaging in this experience,

Whatever it was for you tonight.

Trusting that anything that is not yet fully clear can reveal itself in the coming days and weeks in exactly the right way for you,

In exactly the right way for you.

And as we begin our journey back to the gift of the present,

You can trust that you will remember anything that was helpful and important for you to know,

And you can leave behind anything else.

And so now,

Honoring your process,

Feeling lighter and clearer,

Really wonderful,

Still sitting in calm and peace,

Strength and ease,

You can begin bringing your awareness once again back to your body,

Observing your breathing,

Your feet feeling really grounded,

Connected to the earth,

Grounded in your body,

Relaxed,

But feeling refreshed and clear and centered in the gift of this moment.

And with a few deep breaths now,

Having returned fully to the now,

Present and clear,

You can notice and honor any urges to stretch your body and shift,

Feeling wonderful,

Having some water or tea if you like,

Just giving yourself a few moments to come fully back to the now,

And writing down anything you noticed that seems helpful or important for you to remember.
