Are there times when you just need a one minute breathing space?

This is a brief practice that helps you to step out of automatic pilot and return to the present moment quickly.

All you have to do is remember the word stop.

S stop.

Bring yourself into the present moment by deliberately asking what's my experience right now?

What thoughts am I having?

What are the feelings I experience?

And what are the sensations in my body?

Just acknowledge and register your experience whether it's comfortable or uncomfortable.

Take a breath directing your awareness in as you watch each in breath follow each out breath.

Your breath is an anchor helping you return to the present moment at any time.

Listen and observe expanding the field of your awareness now as you take your attention out to sights,

Sounds and smells and a wider awareness of your whole body.

P proceed.

Let your attention move into the wider world around you sensing how things really are right now.

And rather than reacting habitually perhaps you can be curious,

Open and respond naturally.

You might even be surprised at what happens next after you've created one minute of breathing space.
