Hello and welcome.
Thank you for joining me today and thank you for helping me to hold this space for all the meditators who at this moment decided to sit with us and create some positive change.
It is unavoidable that at some point of our life we experience some physical and emotional pain,
Some of which we are not ready to deal with.
As kids we learn to suppress those memories and emotions and if not taught otherwise we still use the same method as adults.
Eckhart Tolle refers to the accumulation of this negative emotional energy as the pain body.
Everybody has one and there is nothing to be ashamed of.
Pain body is reactive by nature.
When triggered by people or situations the old stagnant energies come to the surface.
This may manifest as a way of anxiety,
Anger,
A sudden change of mood and in extreme cases as a physical illness,
In my personal life as a back pain.
How can we break free from the pain body?
In the words of Eckhart Tolle,
The beginning of freedom from the pain body lies in the realization that we have one.
Then in our ability to stay present enough,
Alert enough to notice the pain body as a heavy influx of emotions when it becomes active.
Intense awareness transforms the stagnant energies of the pain body into presence and this way it becomes fuel for consciousness.
Luckily for us,
Meditation teaches us just that,
How to be present and notice what comes our way without judging,
Without reacting.
This way meditation becomes a tool of personal transformation.
Today I invite you to help me and others who meditate right now to begin the process of breaking free from the personal and collective pain body.
Let us begin.
Find a comfortable position in your chair.
Allow your back to be straight.
Sit upright.
Drop your shoulders away from your ears.
Relax just a bit.
Notice your feet resting on the floor,
Giving you support and grounding you.
Notice your hands resting in your lap.
Allow your eyes to close.
If there is still a discomfort in your body,
Allow one deep cleansing breath to soften it.
Great.
This is a perfect position to start.
Now as your body relaxes,
Tune in into your breath.
Recognize that your body expands and contracts every time you breathe in and breathe out.
Find a center of this expansion and contraction.
It should be somewhere in the area of your chest.
Take a couple of deeper conscious breaths and observe how your entire body gently expands and contracts.
Notice that at this time you feel safe and calm.
Your body is still.
And then within the calmness of the present moment,
Notice how your mind becomes active.
You may already experience some thoughts or images,
Sensations both external and internal.
See how those disturbances fit into the calmness of the present moment.
Put yourself in a position of an observer.
See if you can observe those distractions without judging,
Without reacting to them.
Although the stillness of the present moment is the same for each and every of you,
The thoughts,
The images that come through the filter of your mind are unique to you.
And each of you experiences it differently.
Although those experiences are different,
We can collectively respond with kindness and gentleness.
We can simply accept them for what they are without reacting to them.
If you perceive any of them as something negative or unpleasant,
Ask yourself,
Why is this so?
Has this experience,
Thought or emotion,
Comes from the present moment or doesn't come from the past?
As you sit still,
Feeling the expansion and contraction that comes with your in-breath and out-breath,
Be fully present to all those thoughts,
All sensations,
All images in whatever form they come to you.
Some of them pleasant,
Some of them unpleasant.
Some of them are disturbing your peace.
And then ask yourself,
Where do they come from?
Is it you who generates those images?
Is it you who generates those thoughts?
If not,
Who does it?
There's no need to answer these questions right now.
Simply allow for all of them,
Regardless of their source,
To be present for as long as they need and then to let them pass.
Every time you accept those thoughts and emotions with a gentle presence,
You transform their energy into the consciousness of the present moment.
And in this way,
You enrich your being.
Breathing in,
Feeling the expansion and the center of your being.
Breathing out,
Feeling the contraction.
Now to help this process,
Imagine there is a spark of light in the center of your being.
Imagine that this spark expands and contracts as you breathe in and breathe out.
And there's a stillness in the center of it.
Everything that your mind produces is gently absorbed by this spark in the center of your being.
In this way,
You can stay present and calm without being disturbed by any of the external or internal circumstances.
With every in-breath and every out-breath,
You bring more of the positive change into your life.
You transform all the emotional energy of the past experiences by simply breathing in and breathing out.
Every in-breath takes the energy of the pain body in and every out-breath transforms it into the presence.
I give you a moment now to meditate on your own and I will be here to hold the space for the entire day experienced.
With only a small quote from the torso of your first Watchman,
Prepare yourself and You You You You You And now it's time to return You begin connecting with all your physical senses Notice any sounds that come to your awareness See the dark and bright spots in front of your closed eyes Once again feel your feet touching the floor Your head is moving Touching the floor Your hands resting in your lap Gently and slowly tilt your head to the left Tilt your head to the right Bring it back to the center And take one deep cleansing breath in through your nose And out through your mouth And when you're ready,
Open your eyes and welcome back Thank you for this wonderful experience I really enjoyed meditating with you I hope you were able to transform some of those stagnant energies of the pain body Remember this is only a beginning And the work continues However,
Now you know how to apply your intense presence in those moments when you feel that your pain body is activated Your presence has ability to transform all of the energies of the pain body and contribute to your well-being Thank you for listening to this meditation I wish you a wonderful day
