I offer the invitation to begin to settle into a posture that feels comfortable.
Sometimes when we're struggling with chronic illness we feel like we have to push through a lot and so in this moment we just open to rest,
We open to comfort in any way that we can access it.
So if that's lying down,
Please do that.
If it's seated,
If it's standing,
Whatever the body needs in this moment we can honor it.
And sometimes we might want a little bit of movement in the body if that's accessible,
Even if it's just rolling the shoulders,
Relaxing through the jaw,
Getting a little bit of movement just as we let go of tension and we begin to settle into stillness.
And as we settle into our comfortable posture we can close the eyes if that feels comfortable,
Otherwise just softening the gaze and looking a few feet in front of you.
Settling into this new moment.
This is a moment that we've never had before and will never have again.
And trusting that in this new moment there are infinite possibilities.
So I offer the invitation to let go of anything that's happened thus far today.
This week,
This year.
Just kind of softly let it go as we settle into presence,
This new moment.
Opening our minds and our hearts with curiosity.
Infinite possibility.
We might connect with what that means in this moment.
Infinite possibility.
And now for the invitation to take a few slow relaxing breaths.
Breathing in deeply through the nose and as we exhale,
Breathing out through the mouth and elongating the exhale.
Slowing down.
Exhale,
Letting go,
Letting go.
And you might imagine that as we exhale there's a melting of tension from the top of the head through the body down to the feet.
Each exhale allows us to relax a little more fully.
Waffling around the eyes,
Softening around the jaw.
Relaxing through the shoulders,
Relaxing the chest and the belly.
Allowing our inhale to bring in some softness as well.
We breathe in softness,
Relaxation,
And calm.
And we exhale and let go a little more fully of any tension that we might be holding in the body,
In the mind.
Allowing the breath to return to a natural rhythm.
Feeling one breath at a time.
Feeling the inhale,
Feeling the exhale.
At any moment in the practice we feel pulled out of this moment.
We can always return to just this breath.
Can I feel the inhale and can I feel the exhale?
Nothing more to do,
Nothing to fix or change.
Being here,
Breathing this breath is enough.
Imagine in our mind's eye the space of infinite possibility.
And within this spaciousness is wisdom,
Insight,
Healing potential,
And everything that we need to support us on our healing journey.
We might just open our hearts and our minds to this space,
This healing energy,
That's vast and infinite.
And imagine that this energy begins to condense down into a light,
Could be in a particular shape if we'd like it to be.
But in front of us is this healing energy.
Filled with infinite possibilities for health and healing,
Support,
Wisdom.
And on our next inhale,
We can imagine that we are breathing in this healing energy.
And as we breathe this energy in,
It comes down into all of the organs of digestion.
It could be a light or just any energetic healing qualities coming into the cells of the stomach,
The intestines.
This healing energy has the capacity to balance out all of the trillions of microbes that are living throughout our intestinal tract.
Increasing these good microorganisms,
Decreasing the ones that might be causing harm.
Allowing this healing energy to bring the perfect balance.
This wise energy can bring the perfect level of digestive enzymes.
The right amount of acid in the stomach.
Everything that we need for optimal digestion,
This healing energy knows exactly what we need.
All we have to do is just open and receive.
Inviting this healing energy to move through every part of the intestines.
Healing up the lining of the intestines.
So that we're able to absorb the nutrients that we need,
But also be protected from pathogens or anything that could cause harm to the body.
This healing energy can heal up the lining.
Allows the intestines to move fluidly,
Harmoniously.
This perfect peristalsis.
Might invite this healing energy to move into all of the immune cells.
These cells that are lining the gastrointestinal tract are first line of defense.
This healing energy can bring the perfect balance to each and every immune cell.
Even moving beyond the gastrointestinal lining into every cell of the body that supports our immune system.
Might need to calm down the mast cells.
We can equip our immune system to handle any infections,
Viruses,
Bacteria.
The immune system is getting a signal of safety.
It doesn't have to work over time.
It doesn't have to shut down.
We can allow this healing energy to give our immune system exactly what it needs in this moment.
Our immune system is intricately connected with the nervous system.
We might invite this wise healing light energy into every neuron.
Healing up the myelin sheaths.
Allowing our sensory nerves to function perfectly,
Our motor nerves to function perfectly.
Allowing this healing energy into the vagal nerves,
Which bring autonomic balance.
Allowing this healing energy to move the entire length of the vagal nerves.
Starting up at the brain stem,
Moving down through the neck and the throat,
Around the heart and the lungs,
Almost as if it's sprinkling this healing energy everywhere.
Down through the diaphragm,
Into the abdomen.
The vagal nerves are receiving a signal of safety.
We can rest and digest.
We can also mount stress responses and return back to homeostasis and balance.
Inviting this healing energy into the brain.
Our brains can become exhausted when we're not feeling well.
So you might take a moment to allow the brain just to be held.
And this wise healing energy,
We can let our guard down and send a signal of safety to every structure in the brain.
Calm,
Imagining this wave of calm through every neuron in the brain.
Perfectly integrated brain.
It allows us to feel healthy.
It allows us to engage in the world.
And inviting this healing energy into all of our endocrine glands,
All of these hormones that course through our bodies and the thyroid.
Down into our adrenal glands,
Sitting on top of the kidneys.
Taking a moment to allow the adrenals just to be held in this healing light.
All of the stress that we carry being ill.
Maybe we can soften,
Let go.
Allowing our stress hormones to be produced in a balanced fashion.
Inviting this healing energy into the organs of reproduction.
Down into the pelvic floor.
All of our hormones are in perfect balance,
Receiving a signal of safety.
It's okay to let our guard down.
It's okay to just be here.
Inviting this healing energy to embrace the liver,
This organ that gets heavily taxed when we're sick.
Sitting underneath the right side of the rib cage,
We might allow this light or this healing energy to concentrate every cell of the liver.
Supporting detoxification,
Supporting our health.
Might invite this healing energy into our heart.
Both the physical heart that's beating one beat at a time.
And our energetic heart,
This heart space.
Sometimes we carry a heavy heart when we're not feeling well.
We might allow this healing energy to embrace the heart,
This warmth,
The softness.
Allow the heart to soften.
Maybe even open a little bit.
Can we connect with our deep desire?
Maybe it's a deep desire to be well.
And in this moment,
Allowing the space of infinite healing possibility to hold our desires free of judgment.
Allow ourselves to feel what we feel.
Resting in this heart space.
Each of our heartbeats imagining that this healing energy can just pulse throughout every cell of our being,
Every cell of our bodies.
Each heartbeat can support this healing.
All of this healing energy moving into every cell of our bodies.
From the crown of the head down to the feet,
From the feet up to the head.
You might even imagine that this healing energy turns into a gently rotating spiral.
And it just very slowly and softly spirals from the crown of the head down through the face and the neck,
With the torso and the arms.
Healing energy around the hips and the pelvic floor,
Down through the legs and the feet.
Allowing ourselves to be held in the spaciousness of infinite possibility and healing energy.
We'll rest here in silence for a couple of minutes.
Taking a moment to allow this healing spiral of light energy to move to all others suffering in this way.
Allowing this infinite possibility of healing energy to embrace us all.
