When we're chronically ill, stressed, overwhelmed, and short on time and energy, it can feel challenging to do longer meditations. In this five-minute guided practice, we explore three supportive mantras while we mindfully breathe, one breath at a time. This practice supports us in feeling more centered, nurtured by love, and held in compassion. May this serve to reduce your suffering and the suffering of all beings everywhere.

Welcome to this guided meditation practice.

To begin our practice,

I invite you to find a comfortable posture,

Seated or lying down.

Tune into the body and notice what it needs in this moment.

We start with this kind gesture,

Giving our bodies what it needs.

Closing the eyes if that feels comfortable,

Otherwise just softening the gaze.

I offer the invitation to take a few slow cleansing breaths,

Breathing in through the nose and breathing out through the mouth,

Allowing the breath to connect us more fully to this moment,

Allowing the breath to come into a natural rhythm.

And we're going to explore breathing with nurturing mantras.

So as we breathe in,

We'll mentally whisper a kind and supportive mantra.

To help us with whatever we're dealing with today,

Whether that's chronic illness,

Stress,

Overwhelm.

So on our next inhale,

We'll gently repeat the mantra.

May I be held and supported in loving kindness.

With each breath,

Repeating this mantra,

May I be held and supported in loving kindness.

May I be held and supported in loving kindness.

With our next breath,

Repeating,

May I be free of suffering and the root of suffering.

With each breath,

May I be free of suffering and the root of suffering.

With our next breath,

Repeating the mantra,

May I be filled with healing and goodness.

May I be filled with healing and goodness.

As we close the practice,

Placing a hand on the heart,

Sending ourselves any well wishes we need in this moment,

With deep kindness and care.

May this practice support your healing.

May you feel at peace.

May you experience ease.

And may this practice serve to reduce the suffering of all beings everywhere.

Thank you so much.

Many blessings to you.
