One of the biggest sources of our stress is disconnection. Disconnection from ourselves, each other, and life itself. By reconnecting to ourselves and our bodies we can gain greater perspective, calm, and purpose, easing many of our fears and anxieties in only 15 minutes.

Hi and welcome to your life force meditation.

This is one of my favorites.

It's a beautiful way to connect to that,

Really that mystery that lies within all of us.

And it's a great way to get out of our heads,

Which often,

You know,

Feel like is really important and focuses on the minutia of things.

And when you allow your attention to rest into this larger mystery of who you are and the life force that animates this body,

It allows us to leave and live with a greater perspective and ease.

So let's begin.

I'll invite you to start by finding a comfortable way to sit,

Preferably in an upright position.

Lay your hands comfortably on your lap and close your eyes.

I'll invite you to feel your seat as it settles into the earth beneath you,

As well as your legs and feet if they're touching the floor.

Then allow the base of your body to be completely supported as though it were the base of the mountain of your body.

Steady yet relaxed.

And from this base,

Lengthen up through your spine right through the crown of your head,

Feeling the alertness of your body while gently tucking your chin.

Take a few long and slow deep breaths.

Feel how the breath moves through this body,

This vehicle of your life.

Notice the inhales expand and create space.

And feel your body come back into itself,

Resting into the emptiness of each exhale.

Inhaling space,

Exhaling into the emptiness.

And as it feels right for you,

You're welcome to allow your breath to settle into its natural rhythm,

Letting go of controlling the breath and letting it find its own natural cadence to rest into.

Feel how your belly moves with the breath easily and the gentle rhythm.

Begin to scan your body for any areas of holding or tension.

And begin to soften any of those areas,

Perhaps the space between your brows.

Soften your jaw as you let the back of your teeth separate.

Allow your shoulders to soften down your back and soften any tension in your belly so the breath can continue to move freely.

Noticing each breath from beginning,

Middle,

And end.

And each exhale from beginning,

Middle,

And end.

Allow your attention to continue to come back to your breathing,

Your thoughts moving to the periphery as you stay focused on your breath.

I'll invite you now to begin to open to the sensations of this body,

Perhaps noticing the points of contact to the earth first,

Like your seat and your legs and your feet,

The weight of your hands on your lap,

The sensation of breath.

And I'll invite you to also notice the sensation of your right palm.

And as you bring your attention to it,

You may notice this little tingle or hum just beneath the surface of the skin.

This hum of awareness,

The hum of life force,

There's something that was born into this body that animates it,

This mystery that belongs within this body that you are a part of.

And I'll invite you to now bring your attention to your left palm.

And with your attention,

Can you start to feel that tingle,

That hum in your left palm?

Now can you start to feel both palms and the fingers of both hands and both hands fully,

The palms,

The fingers,

The backs of the hands.

Feel them become more alive with your attention,

With that little tingle.

And as you bring your attention to both wrists and forearms,

Feel that sensation start to travel up your arms to your elbows and your upper arms and both shoulders so that both arms and hands feel alive with this tingle and hum of awareness.

And now I'll invite you to notice that you can feel this,

It travels now to your neck and your scalp.

Let it come down to your forehead.

Feel it in your eyes,

Your nose,

Your cheeks,

Your mouth,

And chin,

And both ears so that you feel your whole head light up with this tingle of awareness.

Allow it to continue down the front of your neck and across the breadth of your chest,

Down your belly,

And wrap around the sides of your body.

And then into the back,

First into your upper back,

Your middle back,

And lower back so that you feel the entire front and back of your torso light up with this little tingle of awareness and hum just beneath the surface.

And then traveling down through your hips,

Through both sides of your pelvis,

Front and back,

Including your glutes.

And then down both thighs,

Both knees,

Both calves so that both legs start to light up.

And then continuing down through both ankles and heels.

Notice this hum on the soles of your feet,

The tops of your feet,

And all ten of your toes.

Feel both feet and legs totally lit up with this hum of awareness,

The life force within this body.

And I invite you to feel your whole body completely lit up with this life force,

Almost as though it's like stepping into a warm bath,

Totally enveloped,

Sensing that buzz just beneath the skin's surface,

The aliveness that is here.

And with each breath,

Allowing it to guide you into this moment,

Staying with it,

Breath by breath,

Allowing your attention to intensify the sensation as it guides you into a deeper stillness and deeper realization of the self,

The larger truth of who and what you are beyond the roles that you play,

The things that you do.

But this part that was born into this body that has always been whole and innocent and inviolable.

This itself.

I invite you now to begin to deepen your breathing.

Allow it to guide you back.

And then when you're ready,

I'll invite you to bring your hands together at your heart in a prayer position as you bow your head.

Thank you for joining me in this meditation today.

Namaste.
