Hi and welcome to the Three Golden Circles morning meditation.
This meditation is best practiced first thing in the morning or when you're getting ready to start your day.
You can also listen to this meditation throughout the day or whenever you feel is appropriate for you.
So to begin this practice I invite you to take a comfortable spot sitting or laying down.
Just gently closing down the eyes so that we're not distracted by the external world.
And coming into your breath.
Noticing your breath.
Noticing how you're feeling today.
Just take a minute or so to check in with yourself and your emotions and recognize how it is you're feeling right in this moment.
You might be feeling energized or you might be feeling agitated,
Exhausted or invigorated.
You might even be overwhelmed with anxiety.
Sometimes in the mornings our anxiety can be the strongest and the most overpowering.
Just checking in and seeing how you're feeling.
And now coming back to your breath again taking the focus to your breath and taking one nice deep breath with me.
Inhaling through the nose.
Nice deep belly inhale.
Briefly holding the breath and an audible exhale through the mouth.
Let's take a moment here to setting tension for the day.
Your intention for the day.
Thinking about what kind of feeling you want to cultivate for yourself for the day ahead.
Just taking a brief moment now to set that intention in your mind.
Your intention might be something very simple like today I choose to be optimistic about as many aspects of my life as I can.
So now holding your intention in your mind's eye.
Just take a few moments here to reflect on how you might implement your intention and what that might look like throughout your day.
How will you hold yourself accountable throughout the day?
Gently bring yourself back to your intention.
To catch yourself.
When you might not be operating from a space if that's true to your intention.
Thinking about how it will feel if you embodied your intention throughout this entire day.
Made that commitment to yourself for just the one day.
So hold your intention close at the forefront of your mind.
As you go through the day and try to mindfully catch yourself.
When you might not be behaving or talking in the way that you set your intention.
The practice of mindfulness.
Its purpose is to catch ourselves.
To bring awareness firstly and foremostly.
To our habits,
To our behaviors,
Our emotions.
And to gently redirect our thoughts,
Behaviors,
Emotions into a direction that serves us.
And that might be just directing our focus gently into the present.
And for the purpose of this meditation gently reminding ourselves of the intention we set this morning.
So as we come to the conclusion of this practice we'll finish off with a couple of affirmations or mantras.
So you might like to repeat these in your mind after me.
Today I'm worthy of self-love and I cherish my mind and body.
Today no matter what happens I know I have the power of choice and how I choose to react to external circumstances and events is up to me.
And lastly think about one thing that you're grateful for.
It might be today or just in general.
And when you think about that thing that you're grateful for think about how much peace or comfort love or expansiveness it brings to your life.
Now take this positive feeling with you into the day with the intention that you set at the forefront of your mind.
Maybe taking one last deep breath inhaling through the nose holding the breath exhaling through the mouth feeling at peace and ready for the day ahead.
Thank you for taking this practice with me and make it a challenge for yourself to catch yourself and bring your awareness back to your intention that you set for yourself today.
