Bell rings Bell rings Bell rings Bell rings You can take a moment to just bring awareness to the physical body.

Gather your awareness,

Concentrating in sensation,

Through sensation,

Like water soaking through a sponge.

In a really natural and organic way,

You can allow the body to just organize into a posture that allows you to be relaxed and flowing,

But also present and alert.

And remember that you don't have to make anything happen right now.

It's actually a kind of relinquishing the need to make something happen,

That lets something happen.

Trust that beneath your own efforts and your own willpower,

There's something else holding you,

Something else caring for you,

Delivering you.

Like setting a compass on a tabletop,

The needle will bounce around a little bit at first,

But if you let the compass remain still,

The needle is magnetized towards the north pole.

Maybe our soul is similar,

Like Aurobindo says,

The spark of the divine that is naturally aligned with a divine will.

Maybe it's as simple as being still and allowing the true self to point to true north.

This practice can be difficult because when we finally come to stillness,

We inevitably start to feel things that we've been unconsciously avoiding by staying in motion,

By staying busy.

So in order to awaken to your own passion,

Your own longing,

Often requires a willingness and a courage to encounter your fears,

Your anxieties along the way.

Notice that however you're feeling in the body in this moment,

Whatever the content of your mind,

That these are not your deepest identity.

We often confuse our identity with the feeling body,

The thinking mind.

But if we sit still long enough,

If we come to stillness,

We'll often get a natural sense of more spaciousness,

A vastness of spirit of awareness that envelops the feeling body and thinking mind.

Practice unhooking your awareness from the feeling body and thinking mind,

And as awareness just enveloping the body mind,

Holding the body mind exactly as it is,

Even as you attune to more subtle signals deeper in your being.

Another strong habit.

Another habit we need to learn how to overcome is the habit of looking up to the thinking mind,

Looking to thought to make sense of this current experience,

To organize it,

To interpret it.

Practice in this moment just knowing the moment directly,

Beyond words,

Beyond thought,

Just trusting the simple feeling of being.

Your intuition that lies beneath the body,

The mind,

Or beyond however you want to say it.

At the heart of the stillness of this eternal now,

You start to attune to the subtle symphonies.

You hear the universal hymn,

So to speak.

Deep in your heart you remember your longing.

Take another moment to deeply feel this,

To be this.

Beyond words,

Beyond thoughts,

What is it that has been driving you this last season of your life?

What questions won't leave you alone?

Where is true north in your life?

Where does your soul point you to?

Where does your soul point you to?

Very relaxed and aware. This helped me achieve what sometimes seems like an oxymoron where relaxation and awareness seem like to things that can’t coexist. But this helped me achieve that state in a relatively short mediation. Thank you. Just what I needed this morning 🙏🏼

I love the question, “where is the True North in your life?” I will expand my meditation on it this morning, and try to feel where that question settles in my body. Thank you for this lovely meditation.

Finding something deeper as your true north is a good way to guide yourself, both through life, and through any given moment. A good practice with helpful guidance and clear narration.
