Take a few moments here to just settle in if you're coming to stillness or if you're in motion right now.
You can just gather your awareness in the now and the fullness of what is arising and manifesting and just love what's happening.
And by love I mean give yourself to it fully.
And I say that from an absolute perspective there is nothing to do.
There's nothing to attain.
There's no path to follow.
You are already the truth.
Not the truth as an abstraction,
As a proposition put in the human language,
But the truth as that which is.
And to be the truth is to feel deep pleasure,
Even bliss.
Continue to appreciate the ease that comes with totally accepting what is arising in the now.
No struggle.
No seeking.
No problem to solve.
In the Tibetan tradition they speak of the rare chance,
The opportunity to encounter a living embodiment of the dharma,
Of the path.
And when we are gifted with such an auspicious meeting,
Something in us changes irrevocably forever.
We have an insight into who we really are,
Who we've always been.
And we cannot unsee this insight.
Even if after the glimpse into our true nature we set the teaching aside and forget about it and break our vows a thousand times,
The clarity of this insight in the heart of our suffering will call us home again and again and again.
We may forget our nature,
But our nature cannot forget us.
Like when the poet Walt Whitman says,
I know who I am,
And whether I realize it in ten thousand years or today it is the same.
This moment right now is another chance to come back to yourself,
To recommit to your vows,
Your vow to put an end to your own suffering and in turn to put an end to all suffering.
Appreciate in this moment all of the rare chances you've had in life already,
All of the auspicious meetings and encounters where the way of things,
The great way,
Is suddenly revealed to you.
Whether it takes you ten thousand years or not to deeply realize and protect this insight,
It doesn't matter.
You're already on the path,
Your awakening already ripening.
It's as if enlightenment itself has been ripening for eons,
And it has only needed to create human beings in the cauldrons of evolution to consciously realize this awakening.
And so it's not that you need to be enlightened,
It's that enlightenment needs you to extend this realization,
To use this body and mind,
This precious human birth to practice,
To realize the truth of things,
And to live it,
To be it in the world.
And before you know it,
All of a sudden you become the next sentient being's rare chance to awaken,
Once the recipient of this seed,
This teaching,
Now the holy vessel that bears it forth in the world.
Ghost is found sharing.
