This is a short meditation to listen to when you've just found out that you're pregnant.

Finding out you're pregnant can feel exciting,

Exhilarating,

But at the same time a little bit overwhelming,

Especially if it's your first time.

And it's completely normal to turn to the internet searching for answers and advice and the best care,

But more often than not,

Those searches lead to stories that stir up fear instead of joy.

So this meditation is here to bring you back to trust.

To guide you into a place of deep connection within your body and the miracle growing within it.

To remind you of your inner wisdom and the incredible journey that's just begun.

So take a moment now to find stillness.

Choose a quiet place,

Free from distractions,

Make sure your phone is off or turn to do not disturb.

And get comfortable,

Probably lying down with plenty of cushions to prop you up in all the right places,

Allowing your breath to be your anchor.

And you can close your eyes when you're ready and remember that it's completely okay if you drift off to sleep,

Because your subconscious mind is always listening.

Even if you fall asleep,

The calming suggestions and the visualizations will still reach the deeper parts of your awareness.

Your body will continue to relax,

Your breath will stay steady,

And the sense of trust and connection will gently take root even in sleep.

So whether you stay fully awake or you drift into a nap,

Know that this time is still doing exactly what it's meant to,

Nurturing your body,

Your baby,

And your mind.

Let the steady rhythm of your breathing bring you into presence,

Into calm.

And notice how your breath feels at the tip of your nose as you inhale.

Feel the gentle rise of your chest and let your breath travel down into your belly.

As you exhale,

Let go.

Let go of tension,

Let go of worry,

Let go of any thoughts that don't serve you in this moment,

Because this is your time to soften,

To connect,

To listen.

With each out-breath,

Feel yourself sinking deeper into your body,

Coming home to yourself.

And if you're sitting,

Gently press your feet into the ground.

If you're lying down,

Become aware of the places your body meets the surface beneath you.

Now place one hand on your heart and the other on your belly.

And feel the steady rhythm of your heart beating beneath your hand.

With each breath,

Feel your chest rise and fall.

Every breath now nourishes not only you,

But your baby.

Every inhale draws in life-giving oxygen.

Every exhale softens you further into trust.

Right now,

Your body is working quietly,

Powerfully,

To nurture your pregnancy.

Without you having to think or plan,

Your body knows exactly what to do.

Just as it once ovulated and menstruated on its own,

Now it carries out the intricate work of growing life.

And whether your journey to pregnancy was quick,

Slow,

Natural or assisted,

A miracle occurred.

The meeting of sperm and ova,

The making of a baby.

And now,

That baby,

That miracle,

Is unfolding and growing inside of you.

With one hand on your heart and one hand on your womb,

Feel the connection between them.

The steady beat of your heart,

The quiet presence of new life.

Right now,

A placenta is forming,

Your baby being nourished with every breath,

Every heartbeat.

And the truth is,

You don't need to do anything more.

Simply staying present,

Staying connected is enough.

You can support your pregnancy with nourishing foods,

Gentle movement,

Plenty of rest,

But above all,

By listening inward,

By tuning into your own deep inner knowing.

There is so much noise in the world today,

So much information,

So many opinions,

So many options.

It's easy to become overwhelmed,

But not all of it is for you.

So when something you read makes you feel anxious,

Pause,

Tune in,

And ask yourself,

Does this feel true for me?

Or does it feel like fear dressed up as advice?

Trust your body,

Trust your instincts.

Notice where you feel things in your body and let that be your guide.

In the weeks ahead,

Your body will send you signals,

Twinges,

Aches,

Sensations that you've never felt before,

And they might surprise you and they might concern you.

Before jumping to worry,

Pause,

Breathe,

Tune in.

Does it feel like something to watch with curiosity?

Or does it ask for attention?

And notice how quickly and easily you'll learn to tell the difference.

You're learning already.

Even when others offer advice that doesn't sit well,

Notice how it lands in your body and let that be your compass.

Pregnancy invites you to live from the inside out,

To feel first and respond from there.

And as your awareness shifts inward,

You may notice the world shifting too.

Pregnant bellies around you,

Baby adverts,

Nursery signs,

As if a new layer of life has been revealed.

Open to that same awareness in your inner world and open to the right support,

The right people,

The right care.

So surround yourself with those who believe in you.

Surround yourself with those who believe in your body.

Surround yourself with those who trust the natural wisdom of pregnancy and birth.

Enjoy each moment of this unfolding.

Even the strange ones,

Even the uncomfortable ones.

This comfort in early pregnancy can even be a reassuring sign.

Nausea,

Backache,

Fatigue are all part of your body doing its job.

Right now you have more hormones than ever before.

More energy directed inward than you've ever known.

Every one of them in every part of your body working hard to nurture and grow your pregnancy.

And as your belly grows,

As your baby grows,

Welcome the changes.

Notice them and thank them.

You don't need to make it happen.

It's happening.

Your body knows how to do this.

Even if this is your first pregnancy.

Even if you don't feel ready.

There is a deep ancestral wisdom within you.

That has been passed down through generations of women.

And it lives in you.

Open yourself to that.

Let it carry you.

Let it hold you.

Guide you.

Support you.

That deep ancestral wisdom that has been passed down through generations of women.

Who have felt exactly as you feel at this moment.

Let this pregnancy be what it is meant to be.

Something natural.

Powerful.

Sacred.

Stay present with it.

Not racing ahead to what might be next.

Just here.

Today.

In this moment.

Because tomorrow will come with its own changes.

And in time your baby will teach you the gift of presence.

Because for your baby there is only now.

So begin practicing that now.

Every day.

Every day take a moment.

Hand on heart.

Hand on belly.

To feel.

Listen.

And connect.

Notice what's changing.

And greet those changes with gratitude.

And as we close this meditation.

Take a final breath in.

And out.

And feel your connection to all the women around the world.

Who like you.

Are experiencing the beginning of new life.

May you feel supported.

May you feel empowered.

May you feel the sacredness of this time.

You are pregnant.

And that.

Is enough.

I love this meditation. Iโ€™ve been doing it daily as our first ultrasound approaches to calm my nerves. Weโ€™ve had a rough start to our pregnancy journeys...and hoping all is healthy and positive with this little love inside of me right now. ๐Ÿ’š Thank you. Namaste.
