Hello,
Welcome to Soul Revolution.
My name is Laura McCrory and I'll be your guide over the next 30 days.
This is our first meditation for week one and the title of this meditation is Welcome Home.
And this meditation will practice grounding and coming home to ourselves as we are right here right now.
So if you have a block,
Blanket,
Bolsters or even sandbags to help support yourself through this meditation,
Go ahead and find whatever you need.
And then for this meditation you can go ahead and lie all the way down on the earth if that's comfortable for you.
Or if you prefer you can find a comfortable seated position,
Maybe sitting up on a blanket,
Maybe sitting on a bolster or a block,
Especially if your hips feel a little tight.
Find a comfortable seat or comfortably rest your body on the earth.
And then take a deep breath in through your nose,
Just one deep cleansing breath.
Breathe deep into your belly,
Feel your belly expand like a balloon on your inhale and open your mouth wide.
Exhale,
Release your breath with a sigh,
Let it all go.
Take another deep breath in this time,
See if you can breathe a little bit deeper.
Feel your belly,
Feel your lungs,
Feel your ribcage expand,
Your collarbones spread,
Breathe deep,
Sip in just a little bit more air at the top of your inhale and pause.
Notice what it feels like to be full.
When you're ready open your mouth wide,
Exhale,
Release completely.
Begin to draw your breath all the way out of your body until you can feel your breath completely leave your lungs completely empty.
Pause at the bottom of your exhale,
Notice what it feels like to be empty.
Seal your lips and find a slow even inhale through your nose.

Continue with your inhale,
Finding a pause between your inhale and your exhale.
Find a slow even pace of breath.
There's a great quote by Rumi where he says,
And don't think the garden loses its ecstasy in winter.
It's quiet,
But the roots down there are riotous.
The peace and quiet of winter allows us to be wholly alive and the deeper recesses of ourselves to be wholly alive,
Riotous even.
In the stillness of winter,
Plants won't produce leaves or blooms.
To the outside observer,
It would appear that the plant lies completely dormant,
Devoid of any growth at all.
However,
If we were to observe from beneath the soil,
We would find that the plant's root system is quite active.
The roots are moving deeper into the soil,
Wider into the garden and growing stronger.
All of this growth is to provide strength and stability,
A solid foundation.
If the plant doesn't first develop strong root systems,
It will not receive nutrients vital to growth or will even risk toppling over in a storm.
We begin our journey tonight focusing on grounding on our own foundation,
Creating strength and stability within our spirit.
The Sanskrit word for the base chakra,
Muladhara,
Means root support.
This chakra roots us into our bodies,
The physical world and the earth.
A plant cannot survive without roots and neither can the psyche of a human.
Roots represent where we came from,
Our personal history,
Our ancestors,
Our family,
Earth and the womb.
We cannot simultaneously deny our past and maintain our roots.
As you sit comfortably on the earth,
Begin to tune into your body.
So how do you feel this evening as you arrive on your yoga mat?
Maybe it's morning,
Maybe afternoon,
But how do you feel?
How does your body feel?
Take a deep breath in through your nose and exhale release with a sigh softening into the earth even more.
Realizing where your body connects to the earth and allow your body to be supported and cradled by the earth.
Notice the temperature of the room that you're in,
The sounds around you,
The sounds of your breath.
Just begin to relax your body.
Relax the space between your eyebrows.
Let your gaze soften or perhaps your eyes close,
Allowing yourself the opportunity to go inward with your meditation.
Relax your temples.
Soften your jaw.
Let your tongue just rest heavy in your mouth.
Put space between your teeth.
Let your lips gently part.
Open your shoulders down away from your ears.
Let your arms rest at your sides.
Your wrist relax and your fingers naturally curl.
Relax your ribs,
Belly.
Relax your internal organs.
Soften your lower back.
Place any tension in your hips and your pelvis.
Let your thighs relax.
Hamstrings soften and relax.
Tighten your knees.
Relax your calves and shins.
Relax your ankles.
All the tiny bones and muscles in your feet.
Allow yourself to relax into the support of the earth.
Remembering a sacred connection that may have been forgotten.
Releasing any fears,
Any uncertainties.
In this moment just knowing that you are completely supported and cared for.
Relaxing your body.
Relax your mind.
And as you come home to this sacred space where you are completely supported,
Where you are rooted and grounded in your being.
Allow these words to move into your heart.
Strengthening your connection with earth.
It is safe for me to be here.
The earth supports me and meets my needs.
I love my body and trust its wisdom.
I am immersed in abundance.
I am here and I am real.
Feel rooted and strong in these words.
It is safe for me to be here.
The earth supports me and meets my needs.
I love my body and trust its wisdom.
I am immersed in abundance.
I am here and I am real.
Bring awareness to the base of your spine.
Connect to your roots,
Your root chakra,
Willadara.
And visualize the warm red glow of light right at the base of your spine.
Accepting you to your right to be here,
To your place on this earth.
It is safe for me to be here.
The earth supports me and meets my needs.
I love my body and trust its wisdom.
I am immersed in abundance.
Just allow your body to rest heavy on the air.
Survival is the first challenge of being alive.
It is the original instigator of feeling of action,
Creativity,
And awareness.
Without assuring survival,
Nothing is possible.
By attending to survival,
Everything is possible.
If our survival is threatened,
We feel fear.
It is safe for me to be here.
The earth supports me and meets my needs.
I love my body and trust its wisdom.
I am immersed in abundance.
I am here and I am real.
You have every right to be here.
You are surrounded with abundance.
You have all you need.
We begin our journey rooted and connected to our strength,
To our foundation,
To our self.
Begin to bring awareness back to your body.
Start to deepen your breath,
Slowly welcoming yourself back with a renewed sense of self.
As you begin to awaken,
Awaken with confidence,
With strength.
Begin to wiggle your fingers,
Wiggle your toes.
Make circles with your ankles and your wrists.
On an inhale,
Stretch your arms up over your head.
Find a big stretch,
Full body stretch.
If you're on your back,
Squeeze your knees in,
Give yourself a big hug.
Then gently make your way up to a seated position.
Bring your palms to heart center,
Bow your head in gratitude for your practice,
For taking time out of your busy schedule for yourself.
I am grateful to you and so excited to be on this journey with you.
Thank you so much for allowing me to be your guide.
I look forward to seeing you in yoga.
Namaste.
