We will practice breath awareness walking meditation for approximately 25 minutes. To do this, establish a steady and comfortable rhythm of breathing. As you walk, synchronize your steps with your breath, taking one step with each inhale and exhale. If one step is too much or too little, find a pattern that best fits the inhale and exhale pattern that you would like. Instead of one step with each exhale and inhale, you might choose 2 or 3 steps based on the pace that you want. Before starting think about your walking path, prepare your attire, and stretch. Pause if you need to anytime while listening to instructions. Accompanying background music will aid your walking. Keep focusing on breath awareness throughout and choose the pace that works best for you.

Transcript

Welcome to this walking meditation where we will focus on breath awareness walking meditation.

In this variation,

What we'll do is synchronize our breath with our steps.

We'll use the rhythm of our breath as a focal point for your awareness.

Before we start,

Think about your walking path,

Prepare your attire and stretch.

Pause if you need to anytime while beginning.

To do this properly,

We'll start by establishing a steady and comfortable rhythm of breathing.

As you walk,

Synchronize your steps with your breath,

Taking one step with each inhale and exhale.

When you first try this,

You can find a pattern that best fits the inhale and exhale.

So instead of one step with each exhale and inhale,

You might choose two or three steps based on the pace that you want.

When you find your pace and breath that you want,

Maintain awareness of the sensation of your breath as it enters and leaves your body,

While also staying attuned to the movement and pace of your feet.

If you have not started,

You can now get going and find the breath and pace that you want.

When you come back to this challenge again,

You can try a different number of steps to breath ratio depending on the day.

There's accompanying music to match this challenge.

Let's continue to do this and keep on concentrating.

In order for you to concentrate,

There will be no more talking for the remainder of this challenge.

However,

There will be a bell to signal the halfway mark.

When you hear this,

You can reverse course and head back to the beginning or remain on your path.

Good luck and remain your concentration.
