This meditation will help you cultivate feelings of acceptance towards your body. After checking in with how you feel, you will be guided through a self-love practice, directing positive phrases or affirmation towards yourself and your body. You will then do a body awareness meditation to cultivate gratitude for your body. This is a great meditation to help relieve some of the pressure society can put on us to feel like we need to have a perfect body to be happy.

Transcript

Start in a comfortable position.

Begin by noticing your breath coming in and out of your nose.

Deepen your inhale and exhale,

Relaxing as you breathe.

Take some deep breaths into your belly and let out a sigh as you exhale.

Bring your awareness to your body and slowly begin to scan through your body and check in with how you are feeling.

Feel the sunny sensations you feel.

Do any emotions or thoughts arise when you bring your body to mind?

You may have some insecurities or judgments about your body.

And yet beauty comes in so many shapes and sizes.

One of the most beautiful things about a person is someone that is confident and that loves themselves.

Place your hand over your heart and try to cultivate feelings of warmth and kindness.

Offer some love to yourself by repeating these phrases after me.

I am so much more than my body.

I am already enough.

I am worthy of love and respect.

I am beautiful inside and out.

I do not have to be perfect.

Nobody is.

I will be kind to and care for my body because I love it.

I will put my energy into accepting my body and not criticizing it.

I will exercise because I love my body and I want to keep it healthy.

I will not waste my energy hating myself.

My body is an incredible vessel to get me through life and I am grateful for it.

My body is impermanent and will change over time.

My health is so much more important than what I look like.

My value does not come from what I look like.

I take a moment to let these messages sink in and remember no one is more deserving of your kindness than you.

Now,

Bring your attention to a part of your body that is healthy.

Focus on this area and be grateful for this.

Imagine if this body part did not work as well as it does.

Give your awareness to a part of your body that is strong or complex.

Be thankful for what this body part can do and how incredibly your body works.

Think about a part of your body that is useful and helps you get by in life.

Be grateful for this.

Imagine what your life would be like without it.

Now think about a part of your body you like.

If this is too hard for you,

You can think about a part of your body that you are neutral about.

Feel appreciation for this area in your body.

When you think about it,

It's amazing what your body is capable of and what it has let you do in your life.

Remember this and don't let advertising and social media dictate how you feel about yourself.

Marketing campaigns are designed to play on people's insecurities,

To make them feel bad about themselves,

So they will buy a product and spend money to feel better.

But the truest way to feel good about yourself is to learn to love and accept what you already have.

You can begin to bring your awareness back to the room.

Start to make small movements to your fingers and toes.

Notice any sounds you might hear around you and open your eyes.

Remember the most important thing in life is to be healthy and happy.

So try to be more loving of yourself.

If that's too difficult,

Start by being more compassionate and accepting of yourself.
