
Procrastination Buster: Use This Technique & Take Action Now
In this Procrastination-Busting exercise, we'll combine 3 super high-impact techniques to ensure you'll be taking action -- probably even before the end -- AND feeling good about it. Using your body's acupuncture energy system, somatic release and creative visualization, we'll tap into the brain and body on a deep, subconscious level to take action one step at a time -- and lay the groundwork to create a new habit pattern going forward.

Hey,
It's Cyrus.
Welcome to this short,
Effective exercise to overcome procrastination and take action now.
We're going to combine three super effective tools into one smooth,
Fluid exercise and get you taking action in no time.
Before we begin,
If you haven't already,
Feel free to follow this channel,
The Mental Level,
For more creative meditations and flow state exercises.
Let's begin.
The first tool we're going to use is EFT,
Emotional Freedom Technique or Tapping,
Which is excellent to rapidly reduce stress,
Internal negative emotions,
And get you feeling more balanced energetically.
It's backed by science and highly effective,
So even if you're new to it,
Treat it with an open-minded,
Experimental curiosity and you might be amazed.
Follow along by tapping your body's acupressure points gently but firmly with your fingers in the order that I describe them,
And repeat what I say out loud after me,
But feel free to ad-lib and subtract or add whatever you want to say.
Treat it as a free-flowing conversation.
Start off by repeatedly,
Gently,
Firmly tapping the side of your hand below the pinky finger.
As you tap,
Start to tune into and allow up the feeling in your body that you notice when you think about what you're procrastinating.
And as you tap the side of the hand,
Repeat out loud after me.
Even though I'm procrastinating right now,
I choose to love and accept myself.
Even though I might have been procrastinating my whole life,
I choose to love and accept myself now.
And now move to tap the top of your head in the center of your head.
Even though I feel this in the form of energy in my body,
And when I think about doing this thing,
I feel resistance in my body.
I'm noticing where it is in my body and I'm allowing it to be felt.
I'm not going to resist the resistance.
I'm going to allow it to be as it is.
Tapping on the inside of the eyebrow,
And as we tap down the points you can tap on either side or both,
It doesn't matter.
And now tapping the inside of the eyebrow,
Repeating,
I feel like I should do this thing.
Maybe other people make me feel like I should.
Society makes me feel like I should.
I make myself feel like I should.
I accept myself even with this feeling.
Tapping right beside the eye,
I should do this thing.
I shouldn't do this thing.
Either way,
I choose to love and accept myself.
Tapping right underneath the eye,
Even if part of me feels like accepting myself depends on doing this thing,
It doesn't,
But maybe it feels like it does.
And I choose to love myself anyway.
What if I do this thing and I make a mistake,
Or fail,
Or give up?
Maybe it feels like it would be the end of the world.
And it wouldn't be,
But it might feel like it if I think I failed.
But I choose to love myself anyway.
Tapping above the lip now,
What if I get it done and I felt like I succeeded?
Then I'd have to live up to the success.
And this new standard of being someone who does things in a timely fashion.
It's way more comfortable to be a procrastinator.
And I accept myself anyway.
Tapping right below the lip now,
All these other people get things done and seize the day.
And maybe it can feel bad because that's not me sometimes.
Maybe it's also not them sometimes.
But I'm comparing myself to what I see.
And I love and accept myself anyway.
Maybe I feel fear and overwhelmed when I think about doing this.
Maybe I'm looking at the top of the mountain and expecting myself to get there in one step.
And it's just too overwhelming,
So I don't want to start.
And I love and accept myself anyway.
Tapping right below the collarbone now,
On the soft spot right below the bone.
My inner child doesn't want to be overwhelmed.
And it feels safer to freeze up.
But it's safe to relax in this moment.
It's safe to take things one step at a time.
To feel the fear and do it anyway.
Unless it's not,
In which case I don't have to.
No one is making me,
And I accept myself either way.
I love myself even though I procrastinate.
Tapping underneath the armpit now,
About 4 inches below the armpit.
Sometimes it feels like I'm the only one though.
I'm the special master procrastinator.
I'm the greatest procrastinator in the universe.
I'm going to win the Guinness World Record for procrastination.
Tomorrow.
And I love myself anyway.
And now tapping on the back of the hand between the fourth and fifth finger,
Right below the knuckle,
In the groove between the ring and pinky finger.
Maybe it's safe to not have all this fear.
Maybe even though I procrastinated in the past,
I can start a new pattern.
I can do things one step at a time.
I can set a time to start and decide I'm going to do one step at a time.
I can be decisive and make that non-negotiable.
And if I don't succeed at that,
That's okay.
I can just do my best again and again until it sticks.
Because I'm a human being and I love and accept myself completely.
And I'm choosing to start a new pattern now,
If I want to.
And if you feel particularly inspired to go do that thing right now,
Go ahead and do it.
Don't wait for the rest of the exercise.
Otherwise,
Allow your eyes to close and now stop tapping.
Tune into any remaining emotion,
Energy or internal resistance in the body.
Start to ignore the thoughts about doing whatever it is you think you should or shouldn't do.
And just concentrate on the energy.
Ignore the thoughts.
Focus all your attention on the sensations within the body.
Shift into allowing mode.
Don't try to push the feelings down to change them or escape them.
Just allow them to be as they are completely with no judgment as you ignore the thoughts and allow the sensations to flow through,
Keeping your attention on that.
Surrender any remaining control.
Let go of as much control as you can in this moment and just allow the energy to flow through like a wave as you watch it.
Imagine a space opening up around the sensations and energy and allow yourself to relax into that space.
And now allow any remaining tension,
Energy or feelings that are not serving you to begin to lift and evaporate out of the body like a cloud lifting.
Don't think about how to do it.
Just imagine and feel yourself surrendering that energy to a greater energy of your understanding,
Releasing it completely and allowing it to be vaporized and dissolved as entirely as possible in this moment.
And in that space you've opened up,
Allow all the positive energies to flow in.
The energy of peace and balance,
Lightness and harmony,
Inspiration and love.
Don't think about it.
Just feel it,
Breathe it and allow it to flow through every cell of your body.
And now start to visualize and zoom out and see the big picture of your life,
Of who you want to be and the actions you want to take and the intentions that go along with that to the best of your knowledge and intuition in this moment.
See how you'll feel overcoming that pattern of waiting and instead having done that thing one step at a time.
See and feel and embrace that sense of accomplishment and self-mastery at the conclusion of that activity.
And now visualize yourself doing the first small step towards taking that action that you want to do.
And now see and feel yourself doing the next step and the next step,
One step at a time.
Seeing and feeling yourself fully present with that process.
See and feel how even if there's still some lingering or remaining energy or internal resistance,
See yourself allowing that to be,
Having space for that but having opened up even more space to surmount that,
To feel whatever part of that remains but still take the action one step at a time.
And see and feel yourself allowing that to melt away,
Starting to get into a flow,
A sense of enjoyment and engagement with the process.
And now even if it feels unfamiliar,
Use this moment as an opportunity to set a new pattern,
To create a potentially new habit and decide that as soon as this track is over or as soon as it honestly makes sense to do so,
You're going to take that first small step towards that action.
Putting no more pressure on it than that,
Not analyzing it,
Thinking about it,
Simply committing to it and then physically doing that action if you choose to commit to it now.
And now when you feel ready,
At your own pace,
Opening your eyes,
Moving in whatever way feels intuitive,
Noticing the feeling in your body and then if you've chosen to,
Going to do that first small step right now.

This was extremely powerful for me. Several of the EFT affirmations brought me to tears which helped me realise, there is clearly an energy within causing me to block myself from acting. There is a genuine root cause and that feels like a relief, because the self-criticism, dare I say hatred, is real. I'm writing this comment before acting so can't comment on the full outcome yet π But I feel so much lighter, able to move forward and like there is hope β¨ Thank you so much for sharing and I trust I will return to this and reap ongoing benefits ππ

ADHD/Autism makes life extremely hard to stay on track and I tend to go down many rabbit holes throughout my day. As I look back at the actions I took that day, I always see that what I wanted to accomplish was never done. This taught me that it is okay that this happens, and it does not make me any less of a person or define who I am. I also love the message that I am not alone in feeling this way about myself..society really makes it hard for us to just be who we truely are without judgment. One last thing I appreciated.. your voice was very matter of fact, kind of like when you go to a doctor and they tell you what you need to do to get better. Sounds silly, but I need that type of guidance! That is a huge compliment by the way! :) I look forward to doing this exercise daily! Thank you!

I was able to understand it was my feelings that were keeping me from getting things done . Not my energy level since I have large amounts of that but spend it on worrying and stress. This talk helped get into understanding I can accept myself and I can love myself I can let go of the bad feelings and I can remind myself that I don't have to live with things and people who make me feel bad I could do something about them and this freed me to go forward and take action and be proactive. The other way I would just hide as a response to all these things that are beyond control. That was what I think I was doing before.
