This meditation honours the Ānāpānasati in its traditional form (Majjhima Nikāya 118) as a scheme of 16 steps, grouped into 4 tetrads. Each of the tetrads progressively overlaps with the 4 Satipatthāna trainings in mindfulness, from the coarse to the subtle. It is a mode of practice for the flourishing of tranquillity and insight, and for the cultivation of the 7 Factors of Awakening. (Note that I have omitted the repetition of the words “One trains” for ease of delivery and flow). No Music.
