Why are we encouraged to not just pray,
But to pray and fast?
I am sure,
Like me,
You have reflected on this religious practice of centuries.
And today,
We will take an in-depth look at it.
Welcome back to my fasting talk series,
I am Nuris.
In this episode,
We will talk about fasting for spiritual growth.
Studies show that the two most common reasons why people fast are 1.
For health and 2.
For religion.
So in other words,
They are seeking healing or spiritual well-being.
When people do religious fasting,
They seek nearness to God,
That oneness with the divine creator.
Fasting is not merely staying hungry or thirsty,
But rather a purification of one's spirit.
It is said that the less one eats,
The more his spirit is cleansed and his capacity for visions increase.
These visions I relate to as a wide awakening or more clarity,
Insight and discernment.
During religious fasting,
Believers are encouraged to give alms while they pray and fast,
Which in return,
Produce a reward.
In the Bible,
There is reference that all three of these should be done in secret and the reward would be received openly.
The word openly,
When translated from the passage,
Is the Greek word for manifestation.
So in other words,
Fasting reveals your heart desire.
Therefore,
The secret to breakthrough and manifestation is a lifestyle of giving,
Praying and fasting.
It is said that everyone can perform magic if he is able to think,
Wait and fast.
Fasting gives us the opportunity to overcome our desires and temptations and connect with our true power source,
That which allows our will to manifest through pure life energy.
We give up one kind of sustenance,
Which nourishes only the body and attain the other kind of sustenance,
Which is a source of comfort and gratification to the soul.
Fasting and meditation are quick spiritual hacks to turn on your krung chakra.
Doing 16 eight intermittent fasting daily may be very effective in heightening your spiritual senses and improve your meditation experience.
There are times we may have years of unanswered prayers and that may be our calling to embark on a fast.
This presumed obstacle may be our path to redemption.
One author puts it like this,
Whether it is stagnation,
Terminal illness,
Lack of increase,
Debt or barrenness that is plaguing you,
A fast will help.
There is just something magical about fasting.
It's like we activate our genius.
When we fast is when we are most powerful because we have now embodied the spiritual nature of ourselves and we are no longer merely flesh.
It just ultimately connects us with our higher being or spirit and we then experience infinite knowledge and intelligence,
The same intelligence that created us.
I believe to experience a life of limitless possibilities,
One must fast.
Thank you for listening to the end and in part four we will talk about the healing benefits of fasting in the body.
