A warm welcome to you.
As always,
It's my pleasure to spend this time with you.
It's so easy to move through our days in a trance of unworthiness,
Telling ourselves we'll accept ourselves,
Like ourselves when we are more.
More fit,
Slim,
Successful or interesting.
When we are more confident,
Patient or brave.
This trance skews our vision and makes it difficult for us to see all the ways we are already enough.
This meditation is a 10-minute opportunity to reorientate your awareness away from lack and towards your enoughness.
Enjoy.
So as always,
Settling in and closing down your eyes.
Enjoying three deep breaths.
And as your breath returns to its natural rhythm,
Repeating these simple yet powerful words by Thich Nhat Hanh.
Breathing in,
I know that I am breathing in.
Breathing out,
I know that I am breathing out.
Just how present can you be for each full round of breath?
Each cycle of breath,
Perfect just the way it is.
Perfect just like you.
And now let's begin to identify and soften into all the aspects of ourselves that reveal our inherent enoughness.
Beginning with your character,
With who you are deep down inside.
Perhaps you're thoughtful,
Considerate,
Loyal,
Reliable,
Humble,
Honest,
Lighthearted,
Forgiving.
Really allowing yourself a moment to acknowledge your good character.
Moving your awareness now to your personality.
Are you curious,
Funny,
Patient,
Even-tempered,
Enthusiastic?
Taking a few deep breaths into all your weird and wonderful personality traits.
The things that make you uniquely you.
Directing your awareness now to your intentions.
Do you try your best to be yourself?
Your intentions.
Do you try your best to be a good friend,
Partner,
Child or sibling?
Do you listen to others with compassion?
Do you endeavor to see the best in situations?
Long,
Smooth inhale.
Long,
Smooth exhale.
Reconnecting to your good intentions.
Awareness shifting now to consider some of the choices you have made in life that reveal your inner goodness.
Have you persevered during hard times?
Have you shown resilience in the face of adversity?
Have you made brave choices in your education,
Career or love life?
Directing your breath into your heart now.
Perhaps you can locate some goodness in your heart.
A sense of hope,
Love,
Compassion,
Joy,
Wisdom.
Really connecting to the goodness in your heart.
Resting here in a sense that you are already enough.
Resting here in a feeling of gratitude for all your good qualities,
And for this moment to acknowledge them.
Awareness returning to your body as it sits or lies in meditation.
Opening your eyes.
Thanks for daring to break the cycle of needing to be more,
By resting in your inherent enoughness.
I hope to see you again tomorrow.
