A warm welcome to this 10-day meditation challenge designed to help you create or maintain a regular meditation habit even amidst your busy and unpredictable life.
My name is Fleur Chambers and I'm so pleased to spend this time with you.
I've heard from many of you in my community that you're keen for some shorter meditations for those days when life feels jam-packed and 20 minutes feels out of your reach.
So I hope this 10-day series of 10-minute meditations hits the spot.
The focus of this series is gratitude,
Because we all know that when we feel grateful,
Everything changes.
So in your own time,
Closing down your eyes,
And allowing your awareness to rest on your breath.
No need to change or alter your breath in any way,
Noticing with curiosity what it feels like to breathe in.
What it feels like to breathe out.
Perhaps you'll notice that through the simple act of awareness,
Your breath intuitively shifts.
Feeling smoother,
Deeper,
More full.
Curiosity deepening now as you notice the exact point where the air meets your body.
Paying attention to its temperature.
Noticing the feel of the air as it leaves your body.
Has the temperature changed?
Awareness falling on the gentle rise and fall of your chest.
The soft expansion and contraction of your stomach.
Nothing to do,
No one to be.
Here in this moment,
It's enough to simply be with your breath.
Becoming aware of how so many parts of your body come together in the act of breathing.
Nose,
Throat,
Collarbones,
Ribs,
Lungs,
Side body,
Back body,
Abdomen,
Belly,
Hips and pelvis.
All coming together like an orchestra to create each full cycle of breath.
In perfect rhythm,
Your body breathes on its own.
You are the wise witness.
Your body breathes in its own perfect way all day as you work,
Exercise,
Care for family and friends and follow your dreams.
Your body breathes all night as you sleep.
This intuitive rhythm allowing your body to rest,
Rejuvenate and heal whilst you sleep.
Your breath,
The doorway into your inner world.
Your breath never asking for a thank you.
But here in this moment,
Can you open to the possibility of feeling grateful for each cycle of breath?
And could this gratitude for your breath feel like a gentle rebellion in our fast paced world?
With each in breath,
You are receiving fresh oxygen and life force.
With each out breath,
You are ridding your body of carbon dioxide.
Feeling grateful also for the energetic quality of your breath.
With each inhale,
The possibility to begin again,
To start anew,
To invite in.
What would you like to invite into your life today?
Breathing it in.
With each out breath,
The possibility to let go.
To let go of mistakes,
Regrets,
Conversations that didn't go to plan.
What in this moment can you let go?
Offering your breath a smile.
A smile of gratitude for the way it supports and sustains you day in,
Day out.
Opening your eyes when you're ready.
Great work.
May you move through today more aware of and grateful for your breath.
See you tomorrow for Day 2 of this 10 day,
10 minute Gratitude Challenge.
