This meditation offers a contemplative space for individuals to acknowledge and honor their grief while gently inviting them to examine their personal responsibility in the process of healing and moving forward.
Transcript
Welcome to your grief and responsibility meditation.
Please find yourself a comfortable place where you can sit or lie down now for the next 10 minutes or so.
Get in your zen den,
Put up your do not disturb sign,
Get out some lavender oil,
Put a few drops on your fingers and take a nice deep breath.
Make sure you're really physically comfortable,
Maybe grab a fuzzy blanket and let's begin.
Let's start by gently closing your eyes,
Taking a nice deep breath in through your nose and out through your nose.
I want you to visualize yourself at the top of a majestic,
Beautiful marble staircase,
Slowly walking down,
Down,
Deeper and deeper.
With every step down,
You feel more and more relaxed,
Peaceful and calm.
Continue walking down the stairs as if you're floating.
Everything is easy.
You see a beautiful mahogany door at the bottom of the stairs and suddenly the door is right in front of you.
See yourself reaching out,
Turn the doorknob and walk through.
Take a moment to look around.
Take a deep breath,
Identify what you smell.
Is it fresh air?
Is it salt air?
Do you smell the earth or pine trees?
Do you smell leaves,
Flowers,
Rain,
Water?
You see a beautiful path in front of you.
And as you're slowly walking as if you're floating down this path towards your perfect resting place,
I want you to allow all of the beauty that's around you,
All the wonders of nature from the animals to the sky,
Just allow that to sink into you.
And as we're slowly walking down this path,
You're going to start to visualize and feel any stuck feelings of grief are starting to integrate as you're walking towards your resting place.
The ones that have been solid and unmovable,
Feel them gently breaking up and releasing.
You know yourself,
You know what experiences you've had.
So in this moment,
As you're moving towards your resting place,
Gently,
Naturally,
Slowly,
Give yourself permission and allow those feelings of grief to leave your spiritual and your earthly experience,
To leave your body.
Knowing that you don't need grief to hold on to experiences or people.
All of those experiences are already woven into the tapestry of your life.
As you're continuing to gently walk,
And I want you to visualize this grief that you're releasing looks like sparkles coming off of you.
So as you're walking,
You can see yourself from the back and all of these beautiful sparks of light are coming off of your body.
Just allow them to flow.
This is the relief and the release of that unprocessed grief.
And as you're walking,
I want you to see yourself,
Feel yourself releasing the numbness,
Anxiety,
The fear,
Denial,
Sorrow,
The heaviness,
The loss,
The pain,
All of the unresolved feelings,
The sadness,
Unfairness,
Exhaustion.
See all of those suppressed feelings of regret and guilt processing through and simply leaving your body as these beautiful trail of sparks and sparkles.
Breathing deeply through this process.
And in the near distance,
You see your perfect resting place.
This can be whatever it would be for you.
A beautiful bed with thousand thread sheets.
Maybe it's a grass couch or a blanket on a beach.
Whatever it is for you,
Allow yourself to lie down in this perfect resting place.
You feel tired after that sparkle release of those feelings.
And now you start to experience an internal expansion.
So I want you to see this and feel this.
Allow yourself to feel the space that you've created through the release and the processing of those feelings.
As you're laying here feeling perfectly safe,
Feeling totally relaxed,
I want you to allow these new feelings to sink into you one at a time,
Like a brilliant,
Powerful light coming directly into your solar plexus chakra right in the middle of your chest.
So take your time and visualize these feelings as a golden,
Nurturing,
Powerful light.
Acceptance.
Freedom.
Surrender.
Spaciousness.
Letting go.
Peace.
Peace.
Peace.
Feel the vibration of this processed grief.
And allow yourself to rest in that feeling.
For the next minute or so,
I want you to silently repeat this week's mantra.
I transform my grief into peace and my responsibilities feel light and chosen.
I transform my grief into peace and my responsibilities feel light and chosen.
I transform my grief into peace and my responsibilities feel light and chosen.
Please gently continue to repeat your mantra silently in your mind's eye for the next 30 seconds or so.
And the next time you hear my voice,
It will be time to come back.
Please stop repeating your mantra gently.
Bring yourself back to your body,
Back to your perfect resting place.
Notice how your body feels invigorated,
Lighter,
Energized.
And now it's time to come back down the path and to the door.
So gently and slowly visualize yourself getting up,
Going back onto our path.
You see the door that you came through in the distance.
Gently and slowly,
You're making your way back to the door.
Noticing the difference in how you feel.
Lighter,
More peaceful,
More hopeful.
As you get to the door,
You open the door,
You see the beautiful majestic staircase in front of you,
And you start to ascend the stairs one at a time,
Going up,
Up.
With every step up,
You're feeling more energized and more awake.
There's no effort in going up these stairs.
It's like you're floating all the way up to the top.
And when you get to the top,
You feel transformed.
Allow yourself to enjoy this feeling of lightness,
Of carefreeness,
Of expansion.
I want you to bring your attention back to your body,
Back to where you are right now.
Stretch your hands,
Rock your feet,
Give yourself a nice big full body stretch.
So please take these feelings with you out today,
Tomorrow,
Out into this week.
And please do this grief and responsibility meditation once a day if you can.
And as always,
Take care of you.
