Please find yourself a comfortable place where you can sit or lie down now for the next 10 minutes or so.
You might want to put up your Do Not Disturb sign,
Light a candle.
If you have any essential oil that you like,
You can grab it now.
Grab a fuzzy blanket if you feel chilly.
And now go ahead and settle into a position that feels really,
Really comfortable.
However you are,
Make sure that you can really move your body into that comfortable position.
And now allow the rhythm of your breathing to just begin to lull your body into a deeper and deeper state of relaxation.
Take a long,
Slow,
Deep breath in through your nose,
Inviting in all of the new energy of the year to come,
Filling up your belly.
And now release your breath on the exhalation.
Anything that is old,
Anything that is stale,
Anything that is no longer serving your greatest good,
Simply visualize it leaving your body with your breath.
Let's take another long,
Slow,
Deep breath in,
Feeling all of that fresh air going all the way down to your toes.
And exhale all the way out.
Now you can return your breathing to normal.
But just notice how that deep breath energized different parts of your body,
Sort of waking up your body.
Just breathe.
And I will ask you to place your hands on your heart center,
Feeling the warmth of your skin,
Noticing the beating of your heart,
And just start to sink into a deep connection with yourself,
With your heart,
With your desires,
With your true self.
And just stay there for a moment and breathe.
Today we're starting our day with gratitude.
Gratitude for breath.
Gratitude for bodies.
Gratitude for life.
Gratitude for this opportunity to live another day.
Gratitude to be moving into another year.
Feel the gratitude that you have for the people who love you and who you have the privilege of loving.
We will find gratitude for the pain that teaches us lessons.
And what about gratitude for food and shelter?
And now take a moment to bring to mind the people,
The places,
The things,
The experiences that you are grateful for in your life.
And what about the gratitude for joy?
Even when life can be difficult,
The fact that we can still feel joy is definitely something to be grateful for.
And simply being grateful for this day.
Take a long,
Slow,
Deep breath in and release.
Follow along with me with setting intentions for this day.
Today I choose love,
To be love,
To give love and to receive love.
Today I choose kindness and today I choose grace.
May I listen to my inner voice with attentive ears and courageously act upon her wise words,
Trusting that her guidance will always lead me down the best path for me.
May I move through any pain with courage and tenderness and bestow others with mountains of grace and kindness.
May I know when to push and when to let go,
When to be tough and when to melt with softness.
May I accomplish those things that fill myself and others with joy and may I contribute at least a drop into the ocean of goodness for this world.
May I be whole,
May I be love.
Let's take a moment now to begin to silently repeat our affirmation.
I am grateful for the freedom to create a life that fulfills me.
I am grateful for the freedom to create a life that fulfills me.
You can continue silently repeating our affirmation and I will let you know when it's time to come back.
I am grateful for the freedom to create a life that fulfills me.
Please gently stop silently repeating our affirmation and start to bring your awareness back to your body,
Back to the room that you're in,
Back to the couch or the bed or the chair that you're on.
Bring some energy back into your hands by stretching them.
Bring some energy back into your feet by moving them back and forth and moving your toes.
Give yourself a nice big full body stretch.
Use this meditation every single day to remind yourself to be grateful for the freedom to create a life that fulfills you.
