Hello and welcome to your facelift meditation.

In this meditation we'll be focusing on the face and releasing it of any tension,

Any heaviness and any emotional stuckness that might be here for us in the face.

Opening us up to lightness,

Radiance,

Our youthfulness and our beauty.

You can do this meditation seated or lying down,

So just take a moment now to get comfortable.

So do whatever you need to do,

Get a pillow,

Get something behind your back,

A blanket.

When you're ready you can close the eyes and just come back to your body.

Feeling a body in this space and time,

Bringing your awareness to the peripheries of your fingers and your toes and letting it travel to any place that might need your awareness and let that go.

Bring your awareness to your breath now,

Letting it be exactly as it is,

Letting your awareness ride the inhale,

The pause at the top of the inhale and descending down the slope of the exhale and you can let that go.

Now you can transfer your awareness to your heartbeat in the left side of your chest.

Feel the pulse,

The sensation of the beating,

Your own unique rhythm that's with you all the time,

Adapting to you all the time and you can let that go.

Bringing the awareness now to the top of your head,

The crown and at this precise point of focus,

Becoming aware of all the sensation here.

You might feel a tingling sensation,

Sensations of hot or cold and you're going to let this trickle down the back of your head,

Feeling all the sensations from the crown of your head to the base of your skull and letting that awareness spread to the right side from the crown of the head to the top and the base of the ear now and to the right hairline spreading up from the ear back up to the top of the head and you can spread down now filling in the gaps on the left side from the crown to the base of the ear,

All of the gaps in between and the hairline and consciously releasing any tension in the scalp and hairline.

Now from the top of the hairline we're going to draw a curtain of awareness down across our face really slowly like you're pulling down a blind and wherever this blind touches your awareness is going to travel.

Pulling down the blind from the hairline across the forehead,

Letting any tension release as this blind travels down,

Letting anything release from the brow,

Temples,

The blind of awareness smooths out your facial muscles,

Drawing it down past the eyebrows,

Releasing them,

All the expressions that they contribute to and then down to the eyes,

Allowing the eyes to soften,

Open,

Widen while they're still closed,

Letting the temples soften with them,

Drawing down the blind to your cheekbones and the beginnings of the jaw muscle,

Releasing them,

Feeling the sensations of your nose,

Drawing down the blind to include the cheeks,

Letting them unravel any tension from the inside and outside and draw the blind all the way down to the jaw,

Releasing here at the jaw,

Letting it hang soft if it wants to and including the lips and the area around the mouth.

They do so much work to speak,

To give expressions,

Let all of this emotional color come back to neutral,

Come back to a blank canvas of relaxation,

Including the tongue and down to the chin,

Drawing the blind all the way down to the chin and the rest of the jawline,

Feeling your whole face completely let go.

Now we're going to draw the blind upwards and as we draw it upwards I want you to imagine that somebody's turned off gravity and each area that you scan as you draw the blind upwards across your face is released from gravity.

So drawing the blind up past the chin,

Feeling lightness enter the chin,

The jawline lifts as if it's floating like a helium balloon,

The jaw muscles and the cheeks rising up magnetically,

Lifting the corners of your mouth gently,

Lifting towards the sky,

Your cheekbones weightless,

Your nose suspended under your eyes,

Your temples,

Your eyes,

All weightless with no gravity holding them down,

One big energetic smile sending itself upwards,

The eyebrows,

The forehead,

Feeling that weightlessness open your energy in your face,

Feel this openness as a default,

The lifted feeling,

The weightless feeling and the positivity that comes with it,

Knowing that there's no sensation of being weighed down by the world,

Experiencing this anti-gravity,

Experiencing the potential of life to be light,

Free,

Full of possibility and full of ease,

Connect to that buoyancy in your cells,

Feel their vitality,

Their youth and as you connect to these ideas I invite you to imagine a shimmering gold light begin to fill your face from the inside and as you trace the source of this bubbling golden light,

It comes from your heart,

The seed of your essence and your radiance creating an open spring of radiant light that travels up from your heart center and into the very cells and brightness of the face that you give to the world every day,

Let this light merge with your skin,

Sparkling in your cell activity and feel it shining through your eyes as well,

Through your closed eyelids,

Through the gentle raised corners of your smile,

Let it shine from your tongue so that you speak from this golden radiance,

Letting it fill you completely so that there's a gentle external glow beginning to develop around you,

To develop from you,

Creating a beautiful aura of warm radiant light spreads down into your body as well,

Enveloping you completely and from this place of radiance I invite us to offer some self-love to ourselves,

Connect to deep appreciation and if there's any part of our body or our face that we struggle to see the beauty in on a daily basis or there may even be a habit of unkind words towards,

Please bring your awareness there and channel your love into this space,

You can flower it with kind words,

With your loving presence or with the imagery of giving it flowers and filling it with sacred objects like a shrine or a treasure chest and finally I'd like you to offer it a quality or an emotion that it can be the guardian of so that when you see this part of your body or your face in the mirror or just as you're living your life you can be reminded of this quality and see this feature for the quality that it holds,

Giving ourselves an anchor to practice loving it,

Maybe you fill it with joy,

Maybe you fill it with love or grace,

Whatever feels right for you,

Medicinal for you,

Take your time to place this quality and view this feature with the quality and you can let that go knowing that it'll be there for you when you need it.

Reconnect now to that weightlessness in your face,

See if any habitual points of tension have reclaimed their space and take this moment to gently iron them out with your presence,

Moving them open again,

Teaching the mind-body to be in a different way,

To be in a different shape,

To tend towards openness rather than tension,

To release rather than holding and feeling that anti-gravity sensation all over your face,

Bring your awareness now to your breath entering and exiting your nostrils,

Sensation just above the lip under the nose and you can let that go,

Coming to your heartbeat and you can let that go and coming back to your body,

Becoming aware of the sensations in your body,

Your body here in time and space,

You can begin to wiggle your fingers and your toes,

You can slowly blink the eyes open and here in waking meditation,

Waking reality,

Gently bring the corners of your lips up into a soft smile,

Open the eyes,

Let them rest widely without effort or strain and connect to that weightlessness here now in daily life and thank you for meditating.
