Chaos,
Agitation,
And stillness.
A guided meditation by Tara Herrick Brown.
Original music composed by Kristen Williams.
Begin by breathing in through the nose and out through the nose.
Breathing in slowly,
Allowing the breath to release.
Allow yourself to do a slow body scan,
Paying particular attention to those areas that feel heavy,
Tight,
Sad,
Tense,
Nervous,
Unsure.
And when you notice that space,
You just say,
Hi,
I see you.
Sometimes that makes the heaviness feel heavier.
Sadness feel deeper,
More intense.
Nervousness feel more agitated.
And all you can do is breathe,
See it,
Feel it,
And be really present with it.
Like you're giving it a big hug,
Letting it rest its head on your shoulder.
And by feeling so seen,
This feeling surrenders more deeply.
And the sadness flows.
Your mind may feel confused and unsure,
But the sadness flows.
The sadness knows.
Our world is crazy right now.
There's such turmoil and unrest and uncertainty and confusion.
Have you absorbed all of that that the world is showing you right now?
Have you absorbed it?
Have you owned it?
Have you owned it as though it's yours?
Could that be the tension in your shoulders or in your jaw?
Is that you holding something that's not yours?
What might happen if you sank more deeply into the oneness?
Like you had arms reaching out,
Ready to hold you from behind.
And you simply rested into those arms.
And you feel yourself supported and held.
And in this space of feeling held,
You tune in once again.
And the waves of sadness are still there.
But this time held in this space,
You know that this is a collective sadness,
A collective unrest.
And you feel it for the collective,
With the collective,
As the collective.
It's not personal.
You're feeling the vast and intense energies of your brothers and sisters in this world.
And almost as though this awareness of being connected with them both intensifies the feelings and perhaps dissipates others.
This moment is not about figuring out why you're here,
Why you feel what you feel.
This moment is about being in the presence of that which you feel.
Perhaps things are softening in your mind and in your body.
Perhaps your spine is feeling stronger.
The top of your head reaches towards the sky,
Shoulders falling away from your ears,
Feeling yourself supported in your chair.
Sometimes we need to get through our agitations to find our stillness.
So I invite you to settle into your stillness.
Perhaps you bring your attention to the center of your forehead or the center of your chest.
And you sink in here.
And you breathe.
The stillness is always available to you.
Namaste.
