Today I'll be guiding us through a practice with a focus on discovering your intention either for today or the weeks and months ahead,

Maybe even the year ahead.

So just allow everything to settle in,

Find yourself in a nice comfortable seated position or you're also welcome to lie down.

Just find a space that feels really nice and comfortable for you where you can remain for the next 15 to 20 minutes or so.

Just allow yourself to settle in,

Letting go of anything that may have happened prior to arriving here,

Letting go of anything that may be happening later today or into the future,

Just allowing yourself to come into this present moment awareness.

Just releasing,

Beginning to notice your own body,

Maybe beginning to notice the breath,

Just checking in.

We're often so busy doing things throughout our daily lives that it's rare we get a moment to just stop and receive and listen to what our bodies,

Our hearts,

Our minds,

Our spirits are trying to tell us throughout each and every moment.

So just take this moment here for yourself to check in and just notice what you're noticing.

Is there anything that's presenting itself to you?

Perhaps maybe you're a little hungry or thirsty.

Just acknowledge and be aware of whatever you're receiving.

And then allowing ourselves to settle in,

Beginning to notice the body and perhaps even noticing the sensations within the body or around the body.

So maybe noticing the connection point down through the sit bones,

Whether you're lying down or seated in a chair.

Just see if you can notice that point in which the body is connecting with the floor,

The support beneath you.

Just take a moment to acknowledge that holding that supporting that grounded earth energy beneath you.

That beautiful foundation is always there,

Always supporting us and guiding us each and every day carrying us on our journeys.

So just take a moment to connect in with that space,

That connection point.

And then from the sit bones,

We'll just scan up through our beautiful spines and vertebrae,

Just checking in and noticing again how we're feeling.

So traveling with our mind's eye,

Starting from the sit bones,

We'll just travel vertebrae by vertebrae up the spine.

So starting in the lower back,

Traveling up through the mid back,

Maybe even making a few little adjustments,

Maybe even rolling the shoulders back and down,

Finding a little more space for yourself.

And if you're seated in a chair,

Make sure you're nice and grounded with the feet rooted on the floor,

Allowing the head,

Neck and shoulders to rest directly above the hips.

Starting to scan up through the mid back and upper back,

And then all the way back up through the back of the neck,

The back of the skull,

And all the way to the crown of the skull and see if you can lift the crown of the skull up towards the sky.

Just creating a little more length,

A little more space for yourself.

And just feel that beautiful,

Contrasting push pull energy from the lifted,

Awakened,

Refreshed energy up through the crown of the head and then that grounded,

Supported,

Rooted energy beneath you,

Beneath the sit bones.

Just breathe into that space,

Breathe into that energy that you're creating and noticing for yourself.

And if you haven't done so already,

You're welcome to close your eyes or find a nice soft focus.

Whatever feels right,

Whatever's calling you today.

And then beginning to increase the length and the depth of our breaths.

So breathing in and out through the nose.

Just beginning to notice what that sensation feels like for you at this moment in your body.

So perhaps noticing the coolness of the breath as it enters through the tip of the nose and the nostrils.

Maybe even following the breath as it travels in through the nose through the back of the throat and down into the lungs.

Maybe even beginning to notice that beautiful expansion and contraction through the chest as the lungs rise and fall.

Just allowing your belly to relax and everything to be very much at ease.

This is not about control.

This is about releasing and letting go.

Surrendering more into the practice.

And with each breath,

Allowing the length of the breath to become a little bit longer,

A little bit deeper.

Finding a little more calm,

A little more spaciousness,

A little more relaxation with each and every breath.

And then on your next inhale,

I'd like to invite all of us to take a nice deep breath together.

So breathing in through the nose.

And then we'll release it out through the mouth with a loud sigh.

Beautiful.

That feels good,

Doesn't it?

So let's do another one.

Breathing in through the nose,

Releasing out through the mouth.

And one more,

Breathing in through the nose.

And this time really letting everything out.

Beautiful.

From here,

Just allowing the breath to return to its own natural rhythm.

Very easy,

Just breathing in and out through the nose.

Just allowing the breath to wash over you,

Almost as if waves that are coming,

Ebbing and flowing in and out very gracefully,

Very easily.

Without any control or restriction.

Just begin to become the observer,

The witness to your own breathing experience.

This is your anchor.

This is your foundation that will bring you back into your practice if at any time the mind begins to wander.

Maybe a sound or noise or sensation tries to pull your attention away.

Just allow yourself to return your focus and attention to the breath each and every time without any judgment or criticism.

Just gently guiding it back to the focus and attention on the breath.

As I mentioned before,

We always are doing so much each in our in our each and every day lives.

Just allow yourself in this practice and maybe in the days,

Moments ahead,

When something stirs within you or outside of you,

Can you see if you can respond in stillness to that stimulus instead of reacting?

Just see if you can find a place of stillness and calm,

Of pause.

So again,

Just connecting our focus and attention to our breath.

I'll now begin to lead us through some questions focused on discovering our intentions,

Either for today or the moments ahead,

Or maybe into the future.

So beginning to turn our awareness inward,

Just noticing our own inner stillness.

And in this space,

Just allow yourself to begin to breathe in and out through the heart center.

So imagine the breath as it travels in through the body passes through the heart and as it passes through the heart.

See if you can find more loving,

Compassionate kindness for yourself.

Just breathe that in,

Allowing that breath,

That warmth,

That compassion for yourself to travel out to each and every cell of your body,

Nourishing you,

Reviving you,

Revitalizing each and every cell.

And as we turn inward,

You're welcome to place one hand over your heart and one hand over your belly if that's calling you today and feels comfortable.

Once again,

Breathing in and out through the heart space,

Connecting in with your own center and your own inner voice.

And as I guide us through our intention practice,

Just see if you can once again allow whatever comes to show up as it does today.

Receiving anything and everything without criticism or judgment.

Just witnessing the experience for yourself.

So in discovering my intention,

What is it that I need,

Want,

Or desire at this very moment?

And there are no right or wrong answers in this practice.

So whatever just happens to appear,

Whether it be a word or phrase,

Maybe it's an image or color or sensation,

Maybe even emotion,

Just allow whatever that is to arise within you and present itself.

Is there anything that I need,

Want,

Or desire in the days ahead?

Is there anything that I need,

Want,

Or desire for my future?

What does that look like?

What does that feel like?

What is my heart,

My mind,

And my body trying to share with me that perhaps I haven't heard?

What is calling to me at this moment?

And if I could do anything without any worldly restrictions,

What would I do?

What would that look like for me?

Who are the people around me?

Am I making an impact?

What am I saying and doing with them?

How can I make a positive difference for myself?

How can I make a positive difference for others,

For those around me?

What is my deepest heart's desire for myself?

What is my deepest heart's desire for my community and maybe even the world and existence that surrounds me?

Allowing myself to listen and receive whatever presents itself.

That word or phrase or mantra or image feels appropriate at this very moment for guiding my days and weeks ahead.

Is there a specific message for me to receive,

For me to use as a tool each and every day to remind myself of this very experience of this practice that we're sharing in together at this moment?

Is there any word or phrase or mantra that I should take with me in the days ahead that will be my touchstone to guide me each and every day,

Each and every moment?

Just breathe in through the heart space,

Allowing whatever you received to wash over you.

Perhaps even it was very quiet or still,

Maybe even blankness or blackness,

Whatever it was,

Just allow that to be within yourself.

Allow yourself to receive that.

And if you had your hands over your heart or belly,

You're welcome just to bring them down into your lap or resting on your legs.

Or maybe even taking the hands one last time and clasping them over the heart to thank yourself for whatever it is that you received,

Whatever revealed itself to you in this practice and while we take a few more breaths here,

Breathing through that heart space,

Just check in with yourself.

Is there anything else that you need to hear or receive that you haven't yet?

And then finally to close our practice,

Let's bring our hands together at our heart center in a prayer position,

Just taking a moment of gratitude and appreciation for taking this time to care for ourselves,

To pause and to listen and reflect on what our hearts,

Our minds,

Our bodies,

And our spirits may need from us.

So thank yourself for listening,

For being aware,

For being kind and compassionate to yourself for whatever it was that you received.

And then bringing the hands back down,

We'll close our practice the same way we began.

So allowing yourself to take a beautiful nice breath,

Inhaling through the nose and then releasing out through the mouth with a sigh.

We'll do another one just like that,

In through the nose and releasing out through the mouth.

And last one just for you this time,

Really breathing in deeply through the nose and letting everything out.

Wonderful.

To close our practice again,

I'll bring our hands to our heart center,

Bowing our heads forward to our hearts in gratitude and appreciation for taking this time to be with one another to share in this practice.

I hope you found some beautiful messages to carry you in the days and weeks and months ahead.

May your intentions be loving and kind and compassionate and guide you on your journeys forward.

The light in me honors the light in each one of you.

Thank you for joining me.

Love and light.

God bless you all.
