Hello,
And welcome to a short meditation on purpose.
Please start by finding a comfortable position,
Either seated or lying down.
And take one inhalation,
And release.
And another inhalation,
And release.
And one last time.
And as you exhale,
Letting go of any thoughts that you had,
Anything you need to do when you finish.
And just feeling comfortable and relaxed.

Jakes said,
If you can't figure out your purpose,
Figure out your passion,
For your passion will lead you right into your purpose.
We here live a purposeful life,
But sometimes knowing our purpose,
Connecting to our purpose,
Can seem challenging.
This meditation will allow you to tap into your body and connect with your inner self a little bit more.
And hopefully when you do that,
You will feel that guiding sense of purpose kick in.
We need to start by getting rid of distractions.
And just focus your awareness on what's happening here,
What's happening now.
Notice any sensations in your body.
If anything is less than comfortable,
See if you can adjust so that all of your attention can be focused inward.
And also know that if you stray to thoughts or sounds around you,
That's alright too.
Just have that awareness and bring your focus back to these moments that you're going to take to align with your purpose.
Everybody's life has purpose and meaning,
And it's given by each individual person.
No one else can tell you your purpose.
The universe is always sending you signals,
Telling you if you're aligned with your purpose or not.
These signals get clouded when we are busy,
When we are stressed,
When we're out of sync.
But as we come into alignment with our greater purpose,
We will notice little synchronicities and things that seem like coincidences that are actually signs we're on our path.
As we explore our purpose,
We'll begin to discover higher self.
We will find ways to acknowledge and express unique talents and ultimately use these talents to serve.
So I want to start with a few questions.
Knowing that we're asking these questions just like planting seeds,
It's okay if there's an immediate and strong answer,
And it's also okay if nothing bubbles up.
Trust that just by planting these seeds,
These ideas will begin to percolate,
And when the time is perfect for you,
The answers will bloom just like a flower garden.
So I want you to start by thinking about what your talents are.
This might be something you did as a child or something unique to you now.
What are your talents?
What are you passionate about?
What gets you fired up?
What change would you like to see in the world?
Sometimes the things that we want to change are little hints at where our path lies.
Remember the last time you were doing something and you lost track of time,
What were you doing and how did that feel?
Open your body and notice that sensation and as though you have a dimmer switch on a light,
Turn that sensation up.
You may notice it in your gut,
In your heart,
Or maybe high up in your head.
Everybody experiences the sensations associated with purpose or Dharma very differently.
Start to heighten your awareness of what your alignment with purpose feels like.
What do other people tell you you're good at?
Sometimes others can see things about us before we know them ourselves.
Notice where your heart leaps up in joyous exuberance.
In these moments,
The voice of your spirit is speaking directly to you.

We're going to go through a silent portion of this meditation.
And in order to help maintain focus,
You may want to use a mantra.
A mantra is an anchor that helps you to come back to the present when you begin to have a wandering mind or notice things happening in your body or in your environment.
Today's mantra means my life is in harmony with cosmic law.
Om Varnam Nama.
I'll say it again.
Om Varnam Nama.
As we meditate silently,
You may notice sensations in your body,
Sounds,
Feelings,
Thoughts,
Whatever comes to mind.
Just let it go and come back to that mantra.
If the mantra changes,
That is also okay.
Allow it to morph,
Speed up,
Slow down.
I'll mind the time so you don't have to.
And when the silent portion of this meditation is complete,
You will hear a chime.
And again,
That mantra is Om Varnam Nama.
Say it silently to yourself.
Om Varnam Nama.
Om Varnam Nama.
Om Varnam Nama.
Om Varnam Nama.
Bringing your focus back to your body and releasing that mantra.
Om Varnam Nama.
Om Varnam Nama.
