This practice is a tool to help you let go of anything that is limiting you.
Letting go doesn't mean being unappreciative.
It doesn't mean being ungrateful or disrespectful.
Letting go means accepting.
You're unburdening your mind for the sake of creating a happier,
Healthier future.
Many times we hold on to events and people in the past,
Or certain outcomes in the future.
These use up our energy and can keep us from living freely and meaningfully right now in the present moment.
For the sake of your happier,
Healthier future,
Let's practice letting go together.
First,
Get into a stable,
Grounded posture.
Relax your body while keeping your spine long.
You can have your eyes open or closed.
Bring your awareness to your belly and take a few deep breaths.
Focus on how these breaths feel in your body.
Once you feel stable and grounded,
Bring to mind the thing that you want to let go of.
See it like a vivid,
Detailed picture in your mind.
If you'd prefer,
Focus on the feeling of this thing.
Bring that to life as much as feels useful to you.
Once this is strong in your mind,
Smile at it and gently let it get blurry.
Let it fade to black.
Let's do this twice more,
Bringing to mind the thing you want to let go of,
Very vividly,
Very clearly,
With as much detail as you can provide.
And then let it fade.
Letting go of it.
Accepting change.
Letting go of it.
Letting go of it.
Now,
Bring your awareness to your body from head to toe.
How do you feel now that you've practiced letting go?
What does it really feel like after you've let go?
Letting go.
You can repeat this process as many times as you'd like.
Any place,
Any time.
The more we practice letting go,
The easier it will be for us.
May you be healthy.
May you be happy.
May you be safe.
May you be peaceful.
