Your mind is the first thing to perceive stress. It is possible to change negative thoughts by raising your awareness. Focus on this time to control your intent. By meditating on specific affirmations, you can focus your mind to reinforce positive states of being.

Your mind is the first thing to perceive stress.

The mind can cause you a great deal of stress,

But you can also use your mind to focus and elevate your inner state of being.

When you experience discursive or negative thoughts,

You can shift your thoughts with the power of your intention and focus.

Begin by finding a comfortable seat.

Sit with the spine tall and free.

Let your whole body relax.

Take a breath in,

Inhale.

And exhale.

Let it go.

Gently now become aware of your thoughts.

See if you can observe your thoughts without being attached.

Let yourself become an objective observer.

Notice the quality of your thoughts.

The cadence of your thoughts without any judgement.

Now move your attention to your heart.

Breathe in through the back of your heart.

And breathe out through the front side of your heart.

Each time you breathe in and breathe out,

Let your heart gently soften and relax.

Breathe in fully through the back of the heart.

Now breathe out through the front of the heart.

This time as you breathe in through the back of the heart,

Affirm to yourself,

I am peaceful.

Then breathe out through the front of the heart,

I am relaxed.

Breathe in,

I am peaceful.

Breathe out,

I am relaxed.

Take three more breath cycles like that.

I am peaceful.

I am relaxed.

I am peaceful.

I am relaxed.

Last one,

I am peaceful.

I am relaxed.

Now become aware of your inner state.

Aware of how your body and your mind responds to your inner affirmations.

Make the intention now to be relaxed and peaceful as you go about your day.

Confirm to yourself,

I am peaceful.

I am relaxed.
