Good morning and welcome to this sacred time to give to yourself.

Please take a nice comfortable seat,

Just sitting up nice and tall whether you're still in bed or you're in a chair or on the floor.

Elongate your spine and we'll start by taking three grounding breaths.

So we'll inhale through the nose please.

Hold it here at the top of your inhale.

See if you can feel the beating of your heart.

And then take a little bit more breath in,

Pausing,

No tension,

Sitting up tall one more breath and then through your mouth exhale it out.

Feel the weight of your body settle towards the earth.

Two more times inhale fully,

Grow taller,

Hold your breath without again creating any stress.

Know that your body can expand to fill even more breath.

Take a little bit more inhale,

Your lungs are expanding as you hold,

More oxygen coming in a little more breath and then once again through your mouth exhale.

Last time inhale fully,

Feel your foundation ground as you fill your whole body up with breath and hold it.

It's getting easier to hold your breath maybe give a little bit more inhalation into your body uplifting the front the back the sides a little more and a full exhalation through your mouth.

Let the weight of your body once again settle and like sand in an hourglass start to feel your attention descend letting go of any expression on your face any tension in the neck and shoulders.

With every sweet rise and fall of your breath settle energetically keeping your physical body full and uplifted letting your attention rest all the way at the base of your spine.

A beautiful way to start your day is to put a little bit more attention grounding yourself feeling that energetic connection that you have to gravity in the earth and also allowing yourself to empty out anything old.

Think of the bottom of your body as having a little opening and you can let go and release through that space downward so that your awareness can start to move below your seat into the earth slowing down any thinking starting to feel more what it would be like to have your own root system like a tree.

How deep will your roots go?

How far can you let your imagination take you downward and also spreading outward with every breath every rise and fall just continue to settle until you feel very steady and stable.

If you were to imagine the speed of a tree the pulse of a tree what would it be?

Obviously much slower than this physical body and our heart.

See if you can match up a little bit more with that slower rhythm and giving yourself an opportunity to do less so that we can start our day not bringing in what isn't serving us from the day before so we use this time to empty ground and even to bring in a little bit of the strength from the earth into our bodies so we feel anchored and just see if you can find that place that holds you steady your own inner anchor that allows all the movements of the day to keep you on your center point you can always come back to feeling your root system throughout your day if you need it but know it's here for you because every day that you establish this connection the roots grow deeper and wider you might even find that the roots are entangled with others in your life that are close to you energetically woven with those you love so that beneath the surface of you is where you get to connect with those around you first so holding that great support in your body staying true and anchored into your hips allowing a little lift through your spine through the crown of your head and like a tree that opens to the sunlight just stretch a little bit upward and give yourself a moment to do less and just to really be steady to be fed by light above and supported by the roots below maybe you can sit a little bit more sweetly in your heart and so we'll just sit here for a couple minutes in silence do your best to stay with yourself in this present moment rather than let your mind race off just continue to water your roots and to enliven that great lift from your heart to the crown of your head and beyond if you need help to stay steady you can use an affirmation something very simple for yourself I am healthy I am strong I am grounded I am loved you can repeat any one of those lines or one of them or whatever resonates to you as you sit in the space of your heart just for a little while longer and the beauty of this meditation is you can stay as long as you'd like on the days that you feel you need a little more time to fill your body with that quality inside but if you're ready now to move on with your day once again feeling the anchoring of your hips into the earth let's stretch the arms wide and reach to the sky take a deep beautiful breath in and grow and bring your hands together and all the way down to your heart always in gratitude for the time that you give to yourself even in these little moments they become sacred memories that we can call on again and again when we need it most so honoring that place inside of you Namaste
