Bringing positivity and gratitude into the new year while letting go of things that are ready to fall away. It's as easy as breathing in and out. A nice quick meditation to get the new year started right and to bring lots of good energy to you. Enjoy!

Hello.
Let's do a meditation for the new year.
Let's start by just being calm,
Being present,
Without trying to be meditative or anything like that.
Just really bringing yourself back to this moment.
Just feeling yourself how you feel now.
Bringing all your energy back to yourself.
Whether you're doing it in the morning and you're bringing your energy from your dreams and from your sleep,
Or if you're doing it later in the day and you're bringing in your thoughts from the events that have happened today.
Whatever the case,
Just bringing all of yourself to right here,
Right now.
Feeling this moment and everything that comes with it.
Feeling any sensations you feel in your body.
Hearing any sounds that you might be hearing.
Thinking any thoughts that you might be thinking.
Really just being exactly where you are without any judgments about it.
It's okay to be distracted by your thoughts.
That's all right.
Just noticing them.
And now slowly start focusing on your breath.
Just letting that air come in and bring calmness and relaxation with it.
And with the theme of a new year,
With every breath in,
Realizing you're breathing in new air,
New to you for now anyway.
And with each breath out,
Realizing you're breathing out the old.
Letting go of what needs to be let go of.
Just having that context in mind while you're breathing.
You're breathing in the new,
The fresh.
You're breathing in everything that you need to take in.
Everything that needs to come to you will.
You'll always be able to grab another breath just right in front of you.
And as you breathe out,
Realizing you're letting go of anything that needs to be gone.
Realizing you're letting go of anything that needs to be gone.
Things won't fall away unless they're ready to.
Unless it's time to let go.
And so we breathe out and we breathe back in,
Letting the cycle continue.
Just feeling that breath,
Feeling that cycle in and out,
New and old.
And now take a moment without thinking really about it,
Without thinking too hard,
Just letting things come up.
Just think about some great things that have happened this year.
It doesn't have to be anything big.
It could be a great meal you ate one day.
It could be a fun thing you did,
A cool movie you watched,
Or it can be something awesome,
A place you traveled,
Someone you met.
Anything for you.
Just noticing what might have come up.
And just taking a moment to appreciate those things.
Be happy for the experiences you had,
The people you met,
The people you spent time with,
Things you did,
Things you decided you wanted to do,
The emotions you had,
Good or bad,
Just being grateful for everything that came this year.
And really just taking the time to feel that.
To feel that gratitude,
Let it build inside you.
And now take a moment and let it come up by itself without thinking too hard of a few things that happened this year that made you sad or unhappy or that you resisted or just something you knew you couldn't do.
Of a few things that happened this year that made you sad or unhappy or that you resisted or just something you need to let go of.
It happened and sometimes we need to move on.
Sometimes we can find gratitude in those things and sometimes it's hard,
But as we move forward we find more clarity about these things.
And so just seeing all these things that might have happened.
And with that just taking a deep breath in and out.
Just letting those things go.
Being grateful that they happened and grateful that they're in the past now.
That we get to move forward.
With closed doors we get to open new ones.
With a breath out we get to breathe in.
And with that bringing back those things from the past year that were great.
Letting that excitement build in you,
That gratitude for all the good things.
Give yourself a minute to feel those again.
And let those things build to a greater point than anything that's bad that might have happened.
Just realize all these good things that happened.
Again it could be anything.
It could be a new pair of shoes you bought.
I just got a new puppy.
That's what I'm going to be thinking about.
Just thinking about all the blessings that you received.
Things that you've done for yourself or little accidents that may have happened.
Just letting that feeling build and build.
And breathing out now.
Letting anything that needs to fall away fall away.
Just taking a breath in and really focusing on the breath out.
Doing a long slow exhale.
Feeling that gratefulness but not needing to hold on to anything.
We even need to move on from good things.
For even better things to come.
So just breathe in deeply and exhale with a lot of awareness and gratitude and calmness.
And turn your attention to this coming year,
The start of a new decade.
2020.
Without thinking of anything specific.
Just put all that excitement that you had from the past here.
All these positive emotions.
Just put them into the next year.
Feel yourself being happy and excited over this next year.
Realize all these good things happened in the last year and even more will happen this year.
The good things that happened,
They'll develop even more.
They'll grow.
They'll be better.
They'll change.
Anything that's bad that may have happened,
You'll get new things.
You'll recover from those things.
You'll find healing and calmness with those things.
And completely new things will come.
New challenges and new things.
And completely new things will come.
New challenges and new excitements and adventures.
An exciting new year.
And just feeling that in your heart.
That whatever happens,
You'll be safe.
You'll be okay.
You'll be happy.
Even when you're not happy,
You'll know you'll be okay.
Just holding that positive feeling right in your heart,
Right in your chest.
Feeling it spread throughout every day of the next year.
Every month.
You can almost see yourself through all the seasons just beaming.
Just being radiant.
So happy.
So glad that things are going well.
So glad that things are going the way they are.
Through ups and through downs.
Things are just perfect.
Feeling that in the future.
Feeling that now.
And still just letting that feeling build.
Build and build.
Until you can't help but smile yourself right now.
Seeing yourself smile in the future.
And now,
Put your attention just at the base of your spine.
Kind of feeling your whole spine at once if you can.
Maybe zooming down from the top of your head down your spine into the base.
And kind of grounding that energy.
Moving all that uplifting,
Powerful positive energy.
Just really,
Just grounding it within you.
Locking it in.
It'll always be there with you.
It's easy enough to bring it up now.
You'll be able to bring it up anytime you need to.
Just feeling that energy just relax and become calm there.
In your center,
In your base.
Knowing that it can always rise up.
Yeah,
And just take a few more deep breaths.
Excited,
Powerful,
Big breaths.
Breathing in the new.
Exhaling the old.
And you.
Have a wonderful new year.
May all your dreams come true.
