Welcome to another stress-fit meditation.
The first step in Kundalini awakening is balancing the flow of energy in Ida,
Pingala.
This means that equal amounts of prana are flowing in the left and right sides.
It is most readily evidenced by the breath flowing evenly in the two nostrils.
Nadi-sharanam or channel purification is the first formal pranayama practice given in yoga.
It is a cleansing practice.
It is also called alternate nostril breathing because it involves breathing through one nostril at a time.
In addition to opening the flow of energy along the nadi's,
This practice is an excellent preparation for meditation.
It calms,
Purifies,
And strengthens the nervous system,
And it leads to establishing sashamna breathing,
The condition in which the sensation of the breath flowing through the two nostrils is united into one central stream.
Sit with your head,
Neck,
And trunk straight throughout the entire practice.
Breathe through your diaphragm throughout this practice.
Keep the breath deep,
Smooth,
And relaxed.
With practice,
The length of the breath will gradually increase.
Remember to be gentle and close off the nostrils lightly without using unneeded pressure.
Begin by closing the left nostril and exhale and inhale through the right.
Then switch and exhale and inhale through the left nostril.
Continue switching from side to side for the next few moments.
Close the left nostril,
Exhaling and inhaling through the right.
Switching,
Closing the right nostril,
Exhaling and inhaling through the left.
Now let your natural breath take place.
Embrace your natural breath for the next few moments.
Now let your natural breath take place.
Embrace your natural breath for the next few moments.
Now let your natural breath take place.
Now,
Exhale and inhale three times through the right nostril.
And then switch and exhale,
Inhale three times through the left.
And then switch and exhale,
Inhale three times through the right.
And then switch and exhale,
Inhale three times through the left.
And then switch and exhale,
Inhale three times through the right.
And then switch and exhale,
Inhale three times through the left.
And then switch and exhale,
Inhale three times through the right.
And then switch and exhale,
Inhale three times through the left.
And then switch and exhale,
Inhale three times through the right.
Once more,
Let your natural breath take place.
Embracing your natural breath for the next few moments.
Now let your natural breath take place.
Now let your natural breath take place.
Embracing your natural breath for the next few moments.
Now let your natural breath take place.
Let's now focus on the Kundalini energy.
Start by taking a few deep breaths.
Breathing in through the nose,
Breathing out through the nose.
In through the nose,
Out through the nose.
Inhale your breath for the next few moments.
Inhale your breath for the next few moments.
Inhale your breath for the next few moments.
Inhale your breath for the next few moments.
There is no one way to activate this mysterious energy.
Kundalini rises when the channels of the energy body are open.
This may be an instantaneous sensation or most typically a slow rising one as it continues to evolve and grow spiritually.
We all have the potential to activate this latent bioelectrical energy that holds the power to deeply awaken our spiritual senses.
In this meditation we will activate the channels of the body that give rise to the Kundalini energy.
Take a moment to center yourself,
Bringing your awareness to your breath.
Allow the next few breaths to deepen your awareness of your inner presence.
Now feel your body.
What does your body feel like?
Stay in your body's sensation for the next few moments.
Inhale your breath for the next few moments.
Inhale your breath for the next few moments.
Now on the base of your spine,
With each inhalation bring your breath up your spine,
Out through the top of your head.
As you inhale,
Move your focus from the base of your spine,
Up the spine,
And then out the top of your head.
Feel the breath coming up your spine,
Breathing in prana from the base of your spine,
And using your attention to lead your breath up the spine and out through the top of your head.
As you exhale,
Move your breath from the top of the head to the third eye center located between your eyebrows.
Breathe in through your third eye center,
All the way up through the top of your head.
Breathe out from the top of your head to the third eye center.
Continue this process for the next few moments.
Inhale your breath for the next few moments.
Exhale through the top of your head to the third eye center.
Exhale through the top of your head to the third eye center.
Exhale through the top of your head to the third eye center.
Exhale through the top of your head to the third eye center.
Exhale through the top of your head to the third eye center.
Now,
Make your way to your throat chakra.
Breathe in through the top of your head.
Move your breath to the throat center.
Pause.
Feel the center.
Feel it breathing out,
Moving the breath back up through the top of the head and continuing this process for the next few moments.
Exhale through the top of your head.
Exhale through the top of your head.
Exhale through the top of your head.
Exhale through the top of your head.
Exhale through the top of your head.
Now,
Move your breath to your heart center.
Breathe in and out through the center.
Intensify your awareness in the middle of your chest.
Feel the center.
Breathe in and out through the center for the next few moments.
Exhale through the top of your head.
Exhale through the top of your head.
Exhale through the top of your head.
Exhale through the top of your head.
Exhale through the top of your head.
Now breathe in through the base of your spine.
Move your breath up the spine.
Feel your heart.
Feel your throat.
Feel your third eye center.
And then breathe out through your third eye center.
Breathing in through your base center.
Drawing up the breath from your spine.
Feeling your heart.
Feeling your throat.
Breathing out of your third eye center.
Continue this process for the next few moments.
Exhale through the top of your head.
Exhale through the top of your head.
Exhale through the top of your head.
Try to maintain an awareness of your third eye center.
Exhale through the top of your head.
Exhale through the top of your head.
Now I would like you to think of one word that is sacred to you.
This will be a word that will help you awaken your Kundalini.
We are going to mentally chant Aum,
Focusing all our attention into the third eye center.
Mentally start to chant Aum.
Allow your natural breath to take place in the background.
Focus all your attention into your third eye center.
See and chant the mantra Aum.
Aum.
Aum.
Aum.
Aum.
Aum.
Aum.
Aum.
Aum.
Aum.
Aum.
You will feel very happy.
Aum.
Aum.
Aum.
Aum.
Aum.
Aum.
Aum.
Aum.
Coming back to your breath,
Taking a few deep conscious breaths.
Feel the space that surrounds you.
Focus on the space between my words.
Keep your attention in this space.
Embrace this silence for the rest of this practice.
Aum.
Aum.
Aum.
May the blessings of these practices awaken your inner wisdom.
Namaste.
