Thoughts have no power over you once you realize and reconnect to your true nature.

We have become so identified with thought process that we believe we are our thoughts.

We are at the mercy of the voice in our heads.

Habitual thinking patterns can lead to mental exhaustion and leave us vulnerable to annoying cycles of thinking and feeling that serve no real purpose with our true being or our true nature.

When our thinking becomes habitual and unconscious,

It means that we have lost power to the voice in our own head.

This can lead to suffering as it suppresses our self-awareness and our ability to rise above thoughts.

Our thinking minds can often be too noisy,

Cluttering our clarity with nonsense and redundant thought patterns.

In this meditation,

I will expose you to your true nature beyond your thinking mind.

Allow my words to be signposts that point you in the direction of the self.

Eckhart Tolle said beautifully,

The most decisive event in your life is when you discover you are not your thoughts or emotions.

Instead,

You can be present as the awareness behind the thoughts and awareness.

Sit in any comfortable meditative posture.

Maintain a nice straight back.

Hands on your knees or palms facing up if you wish to lay down for this practice.

Gently close your eyes and mouth.

Take a few moments to settle into your position and just relax.

Roll your shoulders back and allow them to drop and relax.

Relax the palm of your hands.

Relax your feet.

Relax your whole body.

As you start to settle in your position,

Just notice your breath.

Let's start by taking in a long deep breath in through your nose.

And as you exhale out,

Feel your body sink deeper into your position.

Take a nice long deep breath in.

And gently exhale out.

Breathing in through the nose.

Breathing out through the nose.

Each time you exhale,

Just let something go.

Freeing yourself from any unwanted energy that may be hanging around.

Just allow yourself to be as you are here and now.

Letting go of any expectations you may have,

Just fully surrendering to this moment.

As you listen to my words,

I want you to focus on the gap between your thoughts,

Allowing my words to vibrate through your being.

Now I will ask you to channel your attention behind your forehead.

We can call this area your field of awareness.

Allow your thoughts to appear in your field of awareness.

Just observe your thoughts.

Only observe,

Do not follow.

Be aware of the dominating thoughts.

Only observe.

Now ask yourself,

Are you the thought or the observer?

Before a thought appears in your field of awareness,

Where are you?

After a thought leaves your field,

Where are you?

Allow thoughts to appear and disappear.

Stay only in a state of observation.

You have the power to shift your experience from thought identification to observer of thought.

For the next few moments,

Simply and effortlessly observe your thoughts.

You are beyond thought.

Beyond names.

Beyond senses.

Beyond form.

All these are watched effortlessly in your field of awareness.

Stay in a state of observation.

You are the witness of all appearances.

You are the eyes that see all phenomena.

This all-seeing eye cannot be observed.

It can only be experienced.

Your world is objectified in your field of awareness.

Coming and going.

Changing all the time.

Yet there is one element that never changes,

Your true self.

Thoughts are merely an intangible object in your field of awareness.

I ask you now to leave your thoughts as they do not serve your true nature.

Do not attach yourself to any thought.

Do not anticipate the future.

Do not worry about the past.

Allow your true nature to reveal itself.

Allow the space within you to rise.

The unchangeable.

You are the light of awareness itself.

You are the witness.

You are the observer of all that appears in this light.

You are divine.

You are timeless.

Realize you are not your thoughts.

Thoughts cannot exist without your awareness.

Do not allow thoughts to define you.

Do not identify with any self-image.

You are only the awareness.

Your mind will challenge this.

You are the witness to your mind.

Your thoughts will audition for your attention,

But keep your attention within.

Stay as the observer.

Stay as the witness.

Everything outside of your field of awareness is just a temporary experience.

It does not last.

Your true nature is everlasting.

Your thoughts have no power over you.

You give thoughts power through your attention.

Keep your attention only in a state of awareness.

All the objects in your external worlds are coming and going.

They appear and manifest in your field of awareness.

They are all temporary,

Being witnessed by your true self.

The one and only true reality is your divine presence of pure awareness.

You are deathless.

You are birthless.

You are the space that gives rise to all phenomena.

Every day unfolds in your field of awareness.

Let go of everything in the outside world.

Let go of all thought process.

Just stay in the pure state of awareness.

Stay as the observer.

Stay as the witness.

Realize you have the power.

Surrender to your true nature.

Effortless.

Timeless.

Formless.

Thoughtless.

Know your true self.

Go beyond everything that is outside of your true nature.

Completely let go.

And meditate on this space that gives birth to all life.

Let go of everything in the outside world.

Beautiful, thank you 🙏🏻. Made me realise...what if my true self is enough....what if my mind and thoughts are running wild because they believe I should be more. Connecting to my true self brought peace, relaxation and a feeling of being grounded. Definitely one to come back to.
