Goddess Saraswati Transmission
by Steve Nobel
This transmission came after a visit to her temple in Ubud, Bali. The temple has a beautiful water garden that has many fountains and lotus flowers. The Goddess Saraswati is one of the principal goddesses of Hinduism, revered as the Goddess of knowledge, education, learning, arts, speech, poetry, music, purification, language and culture. Originally a river Goddess over time, her importance expanded to become linked to the creator God Brahma as his creative power and consort. In this role, she represents the creative force of sound, and with intellectual order. Usually, she is portrayed as a beautiful, serene woman with a radiant light skinned complexion. Usually dressed in white. She is often depicted with four arms, each holding a symbolic object: a book, a rosary, a water pot, and a musical instrument.
