
Absolute Meditation Practice
An opening explanation about the manifest and unmanifest qualities of the Absolute followed by a guided meditation. The guided meditation explores consciousness and what's arising in conciseness, with the practice orienting toward the manifest functioning of the Absolute, it's presence and love qualities.

In the Buddhist model,
The way that the source of the universe or universes is talked about is,
As I mentioned earlier,
We refer to it as the absolute.
And it means the absolute really means complete,
Is what we're saying,
That it has everything within the absolute that's needed for all of creation,
All of life,
All of that to come into manifestation.
And in the absolute,
It really has two ways that it functions.
And it functions first in an unmanifest way,
And this is characterized chiefly by the quality of absence or emptiness.
That there's the kind of emptiness or absence,
As though something belongs here or is here,
But it's just absent right now.
So it has a,
It's not an emptiness like a nothing.
It's more like there's a nothing that has a kind of something quality to it.
So it's more felt in that way.
And in the unmanifest,
Some of the other qualities that we make contact with when we enter into that territory is,
Peacefulness is one of the most common.
And this peacefulness and stillness,
Silence come with it,
Is deeply impacting.
When we contact that peacefulness,
Everything that it touches and makes contact with becomes peaceful.
So if we have a bit of an agitated mind or unsettled heart,
That peacefulness soothes,
It calms us,
It lets us be more open,
More relaxed.
And that combination of peace and stillness,
If we sustain contact with the unmanifest,
Deepens into a quality that we can feel that feels like power,
A raw kind of power that can move into manifestation,
It can move into creation.
And what happens is that unmanifest power,
That power to make manifestation come into the world,
Is coupled with the other function of the absolute,
Which is pure presence.
So a really clear sense of hereness.
In Zen sometimes is talked about as thusness or suchness.
So it's a real deep felt sense of something is here.
I can't quite name it I can't quite identify it in a usual way,
But I can feel something really substantial is present.
And the other another quality of the manifest functioning of the absolute is love.
And this is unconditioned love this is pure love.
So it's not love that you're dating someone and as long as you behave in a socially acceptable way and don't make too many mistakes you're probably going to have a relationship.
But it's a conditioned love,
It's conditioned on how each of you feels how each of you behaves,
Whether you trigger each other whether you step into or stimulate somebody's deeper,
More private material.
So people can feel wounded can feel their ego deficiency can get activated in those kinds of relationships.
It doesn't mean they can't be beautiful and long lasting,
But they're conditioned,
They're subject to a start a decay in a decline.
And that's what happens.
And yet,
In the,
The absolute.
All of this is unconditioned it means it's never been born.
It doesn't die,
It's always an existence.
It may not make sense to us logically,
But it is what we understand as we make contact with it.
That is the reality of it.
So it's helpful to understand and the combination I mentioned the power of the manifest.
It couples with the presence and the love.
That's what brings forth life that's what all life all plants,
All beings manifest from that combination of the absolute.
And so what I want to do is I want to do a guided meditation.
Now,
And I'm going to do a real time meditation exploring consciousness,
Exploring what's arising in consciousness orienting towards the manifest functioning of the absolute the presence and the love qualities in particular.
So go ahead and settle yourself in your meditation posture as before.
Start with the big belly breaths.
Feel your contact with the floor.
Let your awareness settle into your heart area.
I don't mean your physical heart per se but just the area in your chest,
Or the heart is.
And then see if you can breathe in and out of that heart area in your chest,
The little quality of peacefulness is here so just let that be here.
Feel the peace.
Feel the softness the quality of innate goodness here a very light fresh quality of flowing,
Just like a gentle summer breeze passing through soothing comforting warming.
There's that touch of goodness it has.
It's not a relative goodness it's not in comparison to anything.
It's just always a goodness.
So feel that goodness if you're in contact with it,
And let it just radiate in your heart area and your chest area.
You may feel that goodness expanding.
Or maybe not.
Let your awareness rest on this warm,
Fresh flow of goodness,
Your innate goodness.
You may feel a certain quality entering for those that have visual ability you may see it as a bright whiteness.
For those of you who are felt sense meditators.
You may feel a quality of lightness,
A kind of fluffiness,
Purity,
Something that can't be soiled.
Ever.
And with that purity is love.
And this is the kind of love that's more magnificent than anything we humans can produce.
It's a love that has no condition.
You never need to earn it.
There's nothing you can do that disqualifies you from this love.
See if you can feel a bright white fluffy love.
Pure love in your consciousness.
Each time you breathe in that pure love feels a little bigger,
A little more expansive in your consciousness.
One of the functions you may feel of pure love is that everything it touches is love.
So welcome this love in your consciousness.
Intend to open and receive the fullness of this pure love.
And with the pure love is a quality of pure presence.
A rich,
Full,
Hereness,
And immediacy in this moment.
We are here,
Nowhere else.
That's the quality of presence.
A rich hereness.
A beingness in this moment.
Just let that combination of pure presence and pure love open and expand in your consciousness.
You may find it stays in one particular area of consciousness,
Or perhaps it opens into the entirety,
And maybe even beyond your consciousness.
Just let that presence and love open and expand in any way it wishes.
Notice if there's any places of holding of tightness or contraction in your consciousness.
If you feel any tensions,
Any closed places,
Just see if you can open them just a little and let this pure love and pure presence touch what's inside.
Let yourself relax a little more,
Letting your awareness and consciousness relax and open more fully into this spacious pure presence and pure love.
Let your awareness move beyond your body if that's what it wishes to do.
Letting your awareness merge with presence and love in any way it wishes.
If you notice any place in your interiority that doesn't seem to be in contact with the pure presence or pure love,
You can invite the pure presence or pure love into that area by using your in-breath.
Breathe in from the area where presence and love don't seem to be yet,
And that will be interpreted as an invitation to move into that area.
Notice also if you're willing to have the presence and love move into these areas within that don't seem to be in contact with love and presence.
Should you feel that the pure presence and love substantially occupy the space of your interiority?
See if you can relax just a little on any sense of a boundary or limit,
Letting presence and love move beyond where you feel you end,
Your awareness ends.
If you come in contact with any of those tight or seemingly closed places within,
Try opening them just a little more,
Just a little more,
And let the presence and love make contact with what's within.
Notice within if there's any place in your heart area that feels a little closed,
A little blocked off in this moment.
If there is,
Invite the presence and love to come and make contact to let that place,
Perhaps a sad place,
Know that it's loved in this very moment,
Always.
Let's take a moment to let the presence and love move through our consciousness.
Move through our consciousness,
Touching everywhere,
Even down to the level of ourselves,
Of the smallest component of our bodies.
Notice if you feel open on that level to receiving your love and pure presence.
If you're feeling open,
Just relax a little more and let the intention of just letting every cell in your being be infused with love and with presence of the Absolute,
The Source of all universes and realities.
We're gonna sit quietly now in this field of beautiful love and profound presence.
Just open as much as you feel comfortable.
You have the intention to open and receive this beautiful,
