Hi dear friend,
I'm Stephanie and I am so excited that you are joining me today because it's so important to stop and take time for you and that's just what we're going to do.
We all need to step back and take a little time for ourselves.
Why do we find it so hard to carve out a moment or a few minutes in our day?
Because if that phone rings or we get a text or an email comes in we jump at a moment's notice to help someone else.
It's been said many times that in order to be there to help others we must first take care of ourselves.
I know teachers that don't leave their classroom most of the day,
Not even to step out and go to the bathroom and can't understand why they get UTIs or don't feel so well and doctors that see one patient after another they never stop for lunch and then these doctors get headaches or they're dizzy by the end of the day and actors,
Actors that starve themselves to be just the right weight,
Just the right size for a movie or a TV appearance only to end up with an illness.
All of us at one time or another have neglected to take care of some of our most basic needs so let's make a list of things we will commit to doing over the next few weeks.
I want you to make this all about you.
Think about something you would like to focus on that would make your life better.
Perhaps something as though you're getting ready for a big trip.
It might be time to start taking more immunity building vitamins,
Make a packing list,
Start putting things that you will need aside a little at a time or maybe your job searching and if you aren't sure what you want your next job to look like perhaps it's time to start with some soul searching.
Make a list of things that make you happy and things you couldn't imagine doing on a daily basis.
Arrange a few lunch dates with people in an industry that you find interesting.
Think about how you would feel driving to an office every day or would you prefer working from home?
Do you have a space that would be conducive to working out of the house?
Are you comfortable with your current relationship?
Are you looking for someone to join you on this life journey?
Are your friends supportive?
Do you have people around you that can help you out when you need assistance?
So much to think about.
So much to be swirling around in the mind.
So let's just stop for a moment and put all of this aside.
In future we can address each of these independently but for now I want you to have a clear mind and I want you to focus.
I want you to make the focus about you.
So put away electronics,
Sit or lie in a quiet space,
Dim the lights and let's begin a journey all about you.
Imagine you are walking on a beautiful path and really see this.
See this in your mind's eye and ahead of you is a stop sign.
A real stop sign says stop.
Feel your feet connect to Mother Earth.
Stand tall with the crown of your head lifting to the sky.
Breathe in the clear crisp air and let your eyes begin to take in the scenery around you.
See the trees,
The leaves blowing in the air,
Branches swaying gently.
Now listen as up ahead to your right is a beautiful waterfall of fresh water.
Hear the water pouring over the mountainside and landing in a wonderful pool just below.
Begin to walk toward the water and take your time feeling all the rocks and sandy earth beneath your feet and when you get to the water's edge sit down.
Maybe you're gonna draw your knees in close to your chest and hug your knees giving yourself a comfortable hug.
Then take a minute to glance up at the water that's coming down in the distance and slowly reach your hand down into the and swirl the water that's in front of you and just watch the ripples and then perhaps as you lean forward taste the clear spring water.
Very refreshing,
Cool,
Crisp.
As you lean forward see your reflection in the water as though you were looking at a clear glass mirror and tell yourself right here,
Right now,
Thank you.
Thank you for all that your body and mind do for you on a daily basis and feel that gratitude inside.
And now maybe sitting back or maybe you choose to lie down let yourself look up at the azure blue sky that's just above and watch as the clouds drift effortlessly overhead.
Now take a few minutes to be with yourself,
To breathe deeply and listen to your inhale and your exhale.
I'll pause for a moment here as you sit back and enjoy all that surrounds you.
As I rejoin you now,
As you've connected to yourself,
Plant this into your mind,
Into your memory.
A few moments of simple,
Quiet simplicity.
Wishing you only the best and I thank you for joining me on this journey.
