Hi,
Dear friend.
I'm Stephanie.
I invite you to find a quiet space where you can pause for a moment to give back to yourself.
We often find ourselves running through our daily routines and doing for everyone else,
Whether it's our kids,
Partners,
Bosses,
Volunteer organizations,
Etc.
And before we know it,
Another week has passed.
It's easy to get caught up in the day-to-day activities and not have time to look over or after ourselves.
But to really be there for others,
We need to take some time to reflect on what our needs are.
This isn't selfish.
It's maintenance.
One of the best things we can do is schedule quality time for us.
It's important that we do just that.
Stop and give back to ourselves and be fully present at the time so we can reflect for a moment on where we are and on what we need.
In the following meditation,
We will do just that.
Pause,
Breathe deeper,
And reflect inward.
Give yourself some time to get comfortable.
Find a nice,
Quiet space.
Grab a blanket if you tend to get cold.
Sit in a comfortably cozy chair or lie on a bed under some plush blankets,
Wherever you feel nurtured,
Warmth,
And serenity.
As you get comfortable,
Take a moment to set an intention for this special time.
This intention could be to just put your feet up or remind yourself of your wonderful qualities,
To step away from daily noises and to find that quiet from within.
Whatever it is you choose at this time,
Let it be something just for you.
I'll pause for a moment while you gather your thoughts and set your intention.
Now that you have set your intention,
Let's release the internal tension.
Begin by listening to your breath.
Don't try to change it.
Just recognize where you are in the present moment.
Allow your eyes to focus on a point,
Either ahead of you or on the ceiling,
And fixate on that specific spot.
Let it be something off in the distance and see nothing else around it or on the way to it.
Just look ahead at that one spot.
As your eyes begin to grow tired from the focus,
Let the eyelids slowly close.
Notice the rest of the facial features might hold a little tension,
So begin to soften the face.
Unclench the teeth,
Relax the jaw,
Even letting go of the tongue,
And feel the difference when you relax the tongue,
How the whole body begins to release.
Let this feeling of letting go move down the body from the neck,
Shoulders,
The arms,
The abdomen,
All along the spine and the hips,
Tops of the legs to the knees,
The ankles,
The feet,
And the toes.
I'll pause for a moment while you continue to release and relax your body from head to toe.
Thanks.
Your muscles have softened and you are now lying fully relaxed,
The breath slowing and tension simply melting from the body.
We will now journey into an awareness of all that we have and of all that is truly important.
Imagine now that you have a gratitude journal in front of you.
What would you write as your first entry in that journal?
What are you grateful for?
We'll pause for a moment and just in your own way think about all that you have,
All that is positive and all things that you are truly grateful for.
Take a moment now.
Now just imagine passing that journal on to others and what would the writings in that book include if they were putting entries in specifically about your impact and the positivity that you display towards them.
As we open the book,
Here are some of the entries that have been written for you.
You made me smile.
You were kind to me,
A stranger and I appreciated that.
You helped me feel confident.
You were there when I needed someone to talk to.
You taught me the generosity of giving to others.
You have a beautiful voice.
You were a friend to me when I needed a friend the most.
You always find the good in others.
You taught me that humor is infectious.
You showed me there is beauty in all things.
Your patience is appreciated.
I've learned so much from you.
Your guidance is most appreciated.
Those are just some of the entries.
Reflect on all that you have accomplished and how important you are to those that cross your path.
You are loved.
You are special.
You are unique.
Spend a few more minutes with your thoughts.
You are deserving of this quiet time.
This is time to reflect and most importantly,
Something we all need.
Taking time to take care of you for all you do.
Thank you.
Take a few more minutes if you choose to just relax and soak in the moment.
And from me to you,
I wish you only the best of health.
