Let's begin.

Let's begin by finding a comfortable way to be in the body,

Where the body feels wholly and completely supported by whatever it's resting on.

Checking in with the shape that the body is making,

Does this feel sustainable?

Making any small adjustments the body is asking for in this moment.

Let's begin to let the body settle.

Settling down toward the earth.

See if you can notice what settling feels like in your own body.

Maybe it's a softening of the muscles.

Or maybe it's a loosening in the joints.

Maybe settling is the sensation of the bones growing heavy,

The body being drawn downward.

Perhaps we become aware of gravity in this moment.

Feeling gravity on the body,

That gentle tug downward.

All that is required from us in this moment is letting go.

Allowing.

Can we allow ourselves to soften to the point where we are held?

Can we allow ourselves to surrender the fullness of our physical being to the earth and trust that we are safe here?

I allow myself to be held by the earth.

I trust that I am safe.

Perhaps in this moment we become aware of the two-way exchange of energy from the earth to our bodies and our bodies to the earth.

Feeling grounding energy in the body.

Letting go of whatever we might be carrying to make space for more peace,

For more calm.

The earth allows us this opportunity to free ourselves from the weight of our physical body.

The earth provides us with an opportunity to free ourselves from any energy that we carry that might not be in harmony with our being.

Today's meditation is a practice of undoing,

Of looking beyond.

We begin to look beyond our being by letting go of the body.

I am not my body.

My body is safe on the earth.

I'd invite you to ask yourself in this moment,

In this quiet space,

That question,

Who am I?

As we explore the idea of who we are,

We may hear many things in our thoughts.

Our mind seeking to answer this question for safety,

For comfort.

As our brains complete the question,

I invite you to seat yourself in the place of the observer.

Can we observe the way our mind answers the question,

Who am I?

Our mind might tell us the story of the places we've been,

The years we've lived,

The roles we've played.

I'd ask you to sense within yourself,

Does that feel complete?

Does the idea of you based on your identity and thoughts and emotions feel like it holds the truth of who you are?

If there's a sense of something beyond this identity and awareness that you hold deep within yourself,

I'd invite you to ask yourself,

Who am I without these roles?

Who am I without these experiences that I've lived here in this lifetime?

Who am I without my thoughts and my feelings?

Who is the part of me that remains?

Our consciousness,

That spark of soul.

I'd invite you to sense that consciousness within you.

Where is the consciousness in your body?

Where can you feel it?

And see if you can locate the energy of the observer,

That aspect of self that transcends.

Where can I sense the essence of who I am?

And when I locate that aspect of self within my being,

Can I breathe into it?

Can I breathe in space and light?

Let's take five long,

Slow,

And steady breaths into that space of consciousness.

Can we allow ourselves to surrender fully in this moment?

Surrender to this present moment,

What is here,

What we sense in our bodies.

Can we find peace here?

Can we find release from our mental suffering in this space?

Can we begin to liberate ourselves from that which we believe ourselves to be?

And together,

Let us vow to notice our thoughts.

To know that our thoughts are only thoughts passing through.

And to know that surrender is our path to freedom.

May we find peace.

Slowly beginning to bring your awareness back into your body,

But bringing with you a sense of the consciousness.

Knowing that to be a human is to integrate consciousness and identity.

And in this moment,

This is your opportunity to come together with grace.

To bring your calm with you into your being.

Thank you,

Thank you,

Thank you.

Blessings.
