Yoga Nidra For Reconnecting With Your Passion And Calling
The intention for this yoga nidra guided through transmission is: "I let go of all of the pressures and expectations that take away from my joy, my calling, and my passions." It will serve as a meditation to help clear the internal resistance and external pressures that stand between you and what brings you joy, fulfillment, and satisfaction.
Transcript
Welcome.
My name is Stefano and I'll be guiding you through Yoga Nidra,
A meditation that mirrors the physiological process of sleep.
You can think of Yoga Nidra as a gentle massage for your nervous system or as an energetic form of acupuncture that allows your physical body,
Your breath,
Your mind,
And your whole spirit to deeply relax.
Please take a moment now to find your most comfortable and supportive Yoga Nidra nest,
Perhaps lying down in Shavasana,
Shavasana,
The corpse pose,
Or adopting your most comfortable seated meditative posture.
For those lying down in Shavasana,
Shavasana,
Corpse pose,
Gently rest on your back in a supportive supine position,
Perhaps on a yoga mat on the floor,
On a couch,
Sofa,
Or recliner,
Or even on your bed,
Making sure to peel your arms away from your torso,
Bringing a slight bend to the elbows so that your palms naturally face skyward and your fingers gently curl inward,
Allowing your legs to separate so that your feet freely fold to either side,
And then gently cover your whole body with your favorite blanket,
And perhaps place a pillow or cushion underneath your knees and behind your head to comfortably support your lower back and neck,
Respectively,
Beginning to relax the physical body as you gently tuck in the chin and shoulder blades,
Allowing your chest to open,
Inviting peace and contentment at the sacred heart space,
Beginning to release the hinges of the jaw and dropping all expression from the face as you decide whether to practice with your eyes open while maintaining a soft gaze into the distance,
Or with your eyes closed,
Perhaps while wearing an eye mask or an eye pillow.
You are the sovereign of your own body at all times.
Now gently scan the physical body to make any final adjustments to be five or even one percent more comfortable,
Simply surrendering the weight of the physical body now to the omnipresent field of gravity,
Sinking deeper and deeper into the surfaces that provide support,
Feeling held and uplifted.
Now releasing any physical tension as you take a deep breath in through the nose and exhale with a deep sigh,
Now releasing any worries and anticipations of the mind as you take another deep breath in through the nose and exhale with a deep sigh,
Taking one more deep breath in through the nose and letting go even more with a deep sigh,
Allowing the mind to become silent and still,
Letting go of all doing and thinking and shifting to feeling and being in yoga nidra.
Resolve to remain awake and alert.
If you do fall asleep or if your mind wanders,
Gently come back to my instructions and the sound of my voice as soon as you're able.
If you need to move at any point,
Know that you can do so mindfully and then return to stillness to the best of your abilities.
Simply follow my guidance now and your body and mind will effortlessly do the rest.
Now gently observe your breath as you draw your attention inward.
Each time you breathe in,
Notice yourself breathing in.
Each time you breathe out,
Notice yourself breathing out,
Becoming more and more relaxed and at ease with each breath out.
In a moment,
We will chant the mantra OM together three times.
You will simply take a deep breath in and let the sound arise from deep within your belly.
Once you run out of breath,
Take another deep breath in and continue to chant the mantra OM.
So let us start by taking a deep breath in.
OM Come to silence.
Let sound dissolve into silence,
Giving your mind full permission to melt and merge into the silent space left behind by the vibrations of the mantra OM.
Now allow your awareness to be drawn even more deeply within,
Pouring the light of awareness into the center of the chest at the sacred heart space.
Allowing yourself to rest fully in the vast stillness of the sacred heart space,
Gently listening for the whispers of your heart.
And now begin to recall your sankalpa,
Your resolute intention,
A vow that you make to yourself to move in the direction in life that connects you with your heart's deepest longing.
Your true heartfelt desire,
One that you wish to manifest more than anything else in this lifetime,
Be it for health,
Healing,
Or awakening.
Now begin to formulate your sankalpa as you plant the seeds of your resolute intention at the center of the chest.
You can phrase it in the form of a short,
Positive affirmation,
In the present tense,
A single word,
A visual scene,
A psychic symbol,
Or even as a felt sense.
And if you have yet to become familiar with your sankalpa,
You may borrow the following intention for today's practice.
I let go of all of the pressures and expectations that take away from my joy,
My calling,
And my passions.
Silently repeat your sankalpa three times at the sacred heart space.
And on your next breath in,
Gently draw fresh vital life force energy to the center of the chest,
Giving your sankalpa new life,
Allowing it to grow and thrive.
And as you breathe out,
Allow your sankalpa to extend everywhere at once,
Letting go now,
Letting go even more as you enter an effortless state of being.
Now follow my guidance as we shift the awareness from body part to body part,
As we move the awareness through the different parts of the body,
Allow the innate healing energy of the body to be released so as to nourish every muscle,
Every tissue,
Every nerve,
And every cell that feels weak or depleted,
Restoring the body to full health and vitality,
Bringing your undivided attention now to the eyebrow center,
The tip of the tongue,
The right side of the tongue,
The left side of the tongue,
The center of the tongue,
The root of the tongue,
The roof of the mouth,
The floor of the mouth,
The teeth and gums,
The spaces within the mouth,
The back of the throat,

The chin point,
The right hinge of the jaw,

The spaces between the eyelids,

The right sinus cavity,
The left sinus cavity,
The back of the nose,
The tip of the nose,
The eyebrow center,

Shoulders,
Upper arms,
Elbows,
Forearms,
Wrists,
Palms of the hands,
Backs of the hands,
Thumbs,
Index fingers,
Middle fingers,
Ring fingers,
Little fingers,
The tips of all ten fingers,
The spaces between the fingers,
Wrists,
Elbows,
Shoulders,
Pit of the throat,
Center of the chest,
Navel center,
Center of the pubic bone,
Tip of the tailbone,

The centers of the hamstrings,
Buttocks,
Tip of the tailbone,
Sacrum and spine,
Back of the neck,
Back of the head,
Crown of the head,
Center of the forehead,
And back to the eyebrow center,
Resting here in vast,
Spacious awareness,
Nothing to do nor achieve,
Allowing everything that is coming to come,
Allowing everything that is going to go,
Remaining a silent witness as all thoughts,
Visuals,
Memories,
Emotions,
And sensations arise,
Unfold,
And pass away in the light of your relaxed,
Neutral awareness,
All things evolving in their own time,
Like fluffy clouds floating across a vast blue sky,
Sailing in their own time.
Now,
Gently observe the body breathing itself,
Noticing the natural ebbs and flows of the unaltered breath,
Simply witnessing the breath.
Next time you breathe in,
Notice yourself breathing in.
Next time you breathe out,
Notice yourself breathing out,
Allowing the exhalations to become progressively deeper,
Releasing any held tensions with the outgoing breath,
Stored tensions melting and dissolving away with the breath,
Breathing in fresh vital life force energy,
Healing the body and soothing the mind before breathing out,
And noticing trillions of cells beginning to breathe in unison,
Witnessing the breath,
Drawing in oxygen,
A new life for these trillions of cells with each exhale,
Releasing all that you no longer need,
Breathing in,
Nourishing and restoring trillions of cells,
Radiant and vibrant,
Each breath out,
Now releasing stale energy and worries,
Expelling all that no longer serves you,
Breathing in and breathing out,
Observing the gentle movement of breath,
Be it fast or slow,
Deep or shallow,
Ragged or smooth,
Allowing the breath to be just as it is and allowing yourself to be just as you are,
Trillions of cells breathing as one synchronized whole,
Breathing in,
Breathing out,
Dissolving into being,
Wholeness,
Oneness.
Now gently rest your awareness behind the closed eyelids,
Giving yourself permission to feel safe as you allow your awareness to simply rest back,
Witnessing all visuals then move across the vast screen of space,
Entering and exiting the void,
Allowing these visuals to arise,
Unfold and pass away in their own time.
And gently follow my guidance as we shift the awareness rapidly from image to image and sensory experience to sensory experience,
Refrain from any comments or judgment,
Simply allow whatever comes up to take shape in your relaxed,
Neutral awareness,
Candle flame,
Snow-capped mountains,
A red rose,
A sapphire blue butterfly,
A green lizard,
A seashell spiral,
Boats sailing across the ocean,
Torrential rain,
The pitter-pattering sound of raindrops pouring down on the ground,
The distant roar of thunder,
Your breath,
An endless desert,
A pine grove,
A stony owl flying above the forest canopy,
A starry night,
The smell of morning dew,
The smell of cinnamon,
The taste of chocolate,
The taste of coffee,
The taste of honey,
The smell of the salty sea air,
The crackling sounds of a campfire,
The warmth and glow of an ember,
The sensations of cold as you break an icicle of a branch,
A cool breeze caressing your skin,
The sun's rays warming up your face,
The coarse feel of sand between your toes as you walk along a beach,
The soft feel of moss by the roots of a tree,
And begin to imagine yourself in a place that is very special to you,
A place where you used to pursue your passions and hobbies,
Those things that interested you deeply for a long time,
The place you may not have visited in a long time,
Perhaps a garden where you planted fragrant herbs,
Yellow sunflowers,
Bright red peppers,
Plump tomatoes,
Succulent berries and fig trees,
Perhaps an office with many books on high shelves,
Assorted papers and notebooks,
And different stationery of all sizes and colors that you used to write novels or poetry,
Perhaps a studio where you used to record songs and beats or lectures and talks,
Where your equipment is still intact with a light layer of dust,
Or perhaps a workshop where you created your art in the form of paintings,
Sculptures or crafts,
Admiring your work and the last thing you started,
Reconnecting with all the sights,
Sounds,
And smells,
Noticing the feelings and emotions as you touch the familiar surfaces,
Wherever it may be,
This place is unique to you,
It has always been profoundly meaningful to you,
A place where you spent many hours doing the things you loved,
Allowing yourself to reconnect now,
With all those feelings of joy,
Of passion,
Of excitement,
Returning to your true calling,
Doing something you truly love,
Yet noticing the state of this place,
How it has been affected by neglect and fallen by the wayside,
Perhaps due to internalized expectations and external pressures,
It has not been the priority in a long time,
And yet it has been calling you,
All of the barriers,
Be they external or internal,
Are now crumbling away,
The dream spell has now broken,
The path to this place is now free and clear,
It has been calling you back home,
This place where you belong and can express yourself fully,
So give yourself permission now,
To start again,
Just for you,
Beginning to till the soil,
Organize papers,
Check the equipment,
Whatever it may be for you,
Giving yourself the time now,
To restore what is most meaningful to you,
Entrusting in the intelligence of life,
That those who share your passion,
Those who will support you in all ways,
Are waiting for you,
And will be by your side,
Much sooner than you expect,
And connecting with these feelings within your body,
Of joy,
Of excitement,
Of passion,
And of trust,
As you reconnect with your hobbies,
Your creativity,
And all that you wish to share with the world,
A defining aspect of your true essence,
Now manifested,
Alive,
And true,
Now,
Breathing into these sensations,
Strengthening them,
Breathing out,
Allowing yourself to feel invigorated and excited at all levels of your being,
Fully renewed and certain of your commitment to yourself,
Now,
Allowing all visuals,
All sounds,
To gently fade away,
While connecting deeply with these sensations within the body,
Knowing that they are always available to you,
The illusion of separation,
Now shattered and fully fading away,
No space nor time will keep you away from that place that is meaningful to you again,
You'll be back consistently and persistently now,
To bring your passions to life,
To share your gifts with the world,
In your own way,
And in your own time,
At a pace that suits and serves you above all,
And allow all of these sensations in this inner knowing,
To reach the eyebrow center,
And drop into the deepest levels of relaxation here,
There's nothing further for you to do or achieve,
You have entered the domain of grace,
The sanctuary of the silent stillness within,
Feel yourself as time transcendent presence,
Right now,
And begin to recall your sankalpa,
Your resolute intention,
Silently repeat it three times,
Taking a moment now,
To reflect upon the journey you've just taken,
Allowing yourself to welcome any messages from thoughts,
Memories,
Visuals,
Emotions,
Or even beliefs that are or have been present,
Embracing the lessons they have shared with you,
As you remain a silent witness,
Now grateful,
And compassionate,
Now,
Gently begin to deepen your breath,
Taking three sips of air through the nose,
And slowly exhaling through softly pursed lips,
Nice and steady,
Taking three sips of air through the nose,
And softly exhaling through gently pursed lips,
Slow and steady,
One more time,
Taking in three sips of air through the nose,
And softly exhaling through gently pursed lips,
Smooth and steady,
Inviting gentle movements back into the physical body,
Nodding the head,
Twirling the hands,
And curling the toes,
Noticing the touch of air on your skin,
Beginning to move your body from side to side,
In your own time,
Staying deep in this deep inner experience,
Perhaps hugging your knees,
Rocking sideways gently,
And recall your sankalpa once more,
Knowing that something deep within has shifted to connect you with your sankalpa,
And begin to sit up in a comfortable seated position,
Bringing your hands together in prayer position,
And bowing down in namaste,
Namaste,
And jai bhagwan,
May the spirit be victorious,
And when you're ready,
Gently opening your eyes.

What a beautiful yoga nidra! You really have a gift for combining the practice with a strong and intentional message that softly enters into the subconscious but very powerful for clarity! Will repeat but feeling great and the message is timely. Have been feeling lackluster because of living environment and being unable to fulfill potential and passions and use gifts for expansion and this helps counter others fears which are not coming from me 💜🙏
