Aum Welcome to the practice of Yoga Nidra.
Find a comfortable place to sit or lie down.
Relax your body.
Get into your most comfortable position.
And prepare for the practice.
With your eyes closed and your spine straight,
Say a few times to yourself in your mind,
Relax,
Relax,
Saying,
I am ready to practice Yoga Nidra.
I am practicing Yoga Nidra now.
As you breathe in,
Allow the sensation of calmness,
Stillness to enter in and flow throughout your body.
As you breathe out,
Allow stresses to fall off and away.
Begin to imagine you are lying on the banks of a beautiful river.
And that the river is bringing with it nourishment,
Relaxation as it comes toward you and passes by you.
As it goes on its way,
It is taking away any cares or worries.
That is its job.
It cannot help but clear you out as it rushes by.
Feel yourself contacting the surface and feel it as though it is the earth mother herself touching your being,
Saying,
Be still.
At your heels,
At your legs,
At your hips,
At your back,
At the arms and hands and at your head.
Feel all these places sinking more and more into the surface that is holding you to the earth mother.
With your eyes closed,
Visualize the room that you are in.
If you are outside,
Visualize the surroundings.
Be detailed in your mind as to these surroundings.
Be them walls and ceiling and floor or this area around you with any shrubbery foliage.
And also see yourself relaxed in this place,
The space in which you are lying,
Which you will return to at the end of this practice.
So get a nice mental picture in your mind of this place.
You have a relationship with this place right now.
It is an extension of you somehow.
Know it to be holding you in safety,
In security as you go into this practice,
Providing for you a beautiful vessel,
A temple for your practice.
Allow yourself to listen to sounds now.
Hear sounds around you.
Hear sounds away from you.
Hear sounds far away.
And listen to the sounds close and in your own body.
Can you hear the sounds in your body?
Tune in to them.
Your body is speaking all the time.
Without need for analysis or judgment or labels,
Just hear the sounds emanating from your form.
Hear them as a language.
And likewise with your environment,
Hear how it communicates with you now.
Nothing you need to run to or think about.
Just sending you vibrations,
Waves of acknowledgement,
Of sharing as you allow the sounds in your world to participate with you in this practice.
Listening to the sounds.
Listening to all the sounds.
And begin to become aware now of all the places where you feel air on your skin.
Feel the places where textures,
Clothing,
Blankets might touch down.
Brush on you,
Any tight places of clothing.
It's time now to create the sankalpa.
Repeat these words.
Or you may choose your own.
These are the words going along with the practice.
Repeat three times.
I have a healthy,
Vibrant relationship with myself.
And so it is with those in my environment.

Feel the sinking in.
Starting the rotation of body consciousness.
Taking awareness to the right side of the body and the right hand thumb.
Become aware of the right hand thumb.
First finger of right hand,

Back of the hand,
Wrist,
Forearm,
Elbow,
Upper arm,

The upper back,
The shoulders,
The whole back,
Just the spine,

To the front of the body now,
The forehead,
Right eyebrow,
Left eyebrow,
The eyebrow center,
Right eye,
Left eye,
Both eyes where the eyelids touch.
Now the nose,
The bridge of the nose,
Tip of the nose,
Right nostril,
Left nostril,
Both nostrils,
Right cheek,
Left cheek,
Right temple,
Left temple,
Right ear,
Left ear,
The jawbone,
The chin,
The mouth,
Upper lip,
Lower lip,
Space between the lips,
Teeth,
Tongue,
Upper palate,
Lower palate,
The whole face.
Become expressionless in the whole face.
The throat,
Right collarbone,
Left collarbone,
The rib cage,
The sternum,
The heart center,
Upper abdomen,
Navel,
Lower abdomen,
The pelvis,
The groin,
The whole torso,
The whole torso,
Both legs,
Both of the arms,
The head and the arms,
The head,
The arms and the legs,
The arms and legs together,
The head and the torso together,
The whole front of the body together,
The whole back side,
The right side only,
The right and left side now,
The whole body together,
The whole body together,
The whole body at once.
Become aware of the breathing.
Without needing to change your breath,
Become aware of the normal and natural breath.
Begin to imagine as you breathe,
The inhale moves breath from navel to throat.
And as you exhale from throat to navel.
And imagine a golden light that moves from throat and navel back and forth.
So as you inhale that golden light moves from the navel to the throat.
And as you exhale that golden light moves from the throat to the navel.
As you breathe it's actually clearing,
Cleaning,
Opening this channel.
Seat of your empowerment in the navel,
The golden sun of the solar plexus.
Moving up to the throat center seat of communication.
To follow that breath,
That golden light energizing the navel and the throat.
Begin to imagine now breath just moving in and out the front of the throat.
Now feel that golden light turn to a beautiful deep blue,
Indigo blue color.
As you breathe in,
Feel this energy,
This blue light moving in to the front of the throat.
Right into Vishuddhi chakra at the throat,
Pit of the throat.
And exhale out the throat.
As you do this nourishing thyroid,
Parathyroid,
The vocal cords,
The mouth.
Breathing in,
Breathing out as if through this center.
As you breathe begin to repeat mentally with this continued visualization.
I know that I'm breathing in.
I know that I'm breathing out.
Feel this breath that is this beautiful blue,
Like the beautiful blue of the sea in some parts of the world,
Mediterranean,
Caribbean.
Feel this blue like the ocean,
Like the bluest sky.
Washing out the throat center,
Purifying it so as to improve communication with others and in your own being.
And taking that concept of enhanced and purified communication,
We're going to allow it to settle in to the throat and all your cells a little bit deeper with each count backwards now.
So feel those concepts,
The purity of communication sinking deeper into your being as we count backwards from 33 toward zero.
Like this,
33 I'm breathing in,
33 I'm breathing out.
Taking it deeper,
32 I'm breathing in,
32 I'm breathing out.
Blue light comes in even deeper,
31 I'm breathing in,
31 I'm breathing out.
As it penetrates through the throat and starts rushing now through the whole of your system,
30 I'm breathing in,
30 I'm breathing out.
Really feel it penetrating deep into the psyche.
29 I'm breathing in,
29 I'm breathing out.
Continue to count backwards following this blue purifying light in and out of the body.
While you're practicing breath observation in yoga nidra,
Counting the breath backwards from 33 toward zero.
If you lose your count,
Begin again at 33.
And then ceasing counting,
Moving into sensations.
Bring into your mind,
Your body,
Your awareness a time when you felt very disconnected from those around you,
That you could not communicate,
That you could not connect.
Maybe feeling awkward or alone.
And really emphasize this sensation,
This experience in your body,
Could be when you're very young or recent experience.
Feel that awkwardness,
That lack of ability to connect,
The disconnect with one or many people.
Feel the way that made your body and mind feel.
The thoughts in your head,
The constrictions in your body posture.
And now begin to release that awkwardness,
That disconnect and replace it with the feeling of connection,
True connection with others.
Even conjuring a time when you really did feel that with someone,
That you were understood without even words spoken even,
Just a resonance,
Plugging into a common frequency.
And how good and alive that made you feel,
How heard,
How acknowledged and validated this connectivity made you feel.
And feel that now as if that is happening in this moment.
Feel connected to someone or many someones and enlarge it to include more and more of reality.
And feel yourself back at that river and nature and feel that you are heard by this river,
That it knows you,
That it resonates with you and is providing you exactly what you need in this moment.
There is nothing that you need to speak that the nature around you is aware.
Begin to feel yourself in a natural setting with the river,
In amongst a bunch of beautiful trees on a sunny day.
Feel that you are the only person in this setting,
But there are birds,
There are other little critters.
Notice what surrounds you and feel very strongly that you are connected to all of these beings,
Even the rocks,
Even the trees and the water,
There is a communion happening.
And so you sit down on a beautiful flat rock,
Find a comfortable place near the river and close your eyes and you feel that this connectivity is also taking place within you,
It must be.
Feel inside yourself a beautiful harmony,
That all parts of yourself are speaking to each other with great awareness and wisdom and balance.
All your cells and organs are in pristine communication,
Your emotions,
Your mental capacities,
All parts of you.
That your inner family,
That inner nurturer,
The inner child,
The inner warrior,
The inner sage,
They are all having communion,
All is known,
Your inner masculine,
Feminine is balanced.
There is a dance going on within you right now.
As you feel this,
It feels as though sounds of nature are like music,
But your cells are dancing,
You feel like you can laugh,
It feels so good.
When you feel prompted to open your eyes in this scene in your mind's eye,
You notice there are other beings here with you too,
But as if they are you,
Even though they look different from you.
Some are male,
Some female it appears,
But it is almost like it is you split out into different forms,
You feel so resonant.
If you didn't see them there you wouldn't believe there were others with you,
It is like you are one.
When you go to smile you see they are smiling,
When you go to speak you realize they already know what you will say.
And you realize there is a great attunement happening within you that allows it to be so,
Outside of you.
As you close your eyes again you feel a scene change,
A shifting in the atmospheric pressures within your body,
And as you open your mind's eye again you realize you have shifted from the scene of the river and these people relax there with you.
And you find yourself along the pattern of a regular day,
Where you might visit banks and stores and maybe a workplace,
A place to work out,
Your street,
And you see common people that you know.
You can even bring some of their faces into your mind as if you are passing them or going to have a conversation with them.
And before any words escape either of your lips,
It is as if the freeze frame happens and you see a blue light go from theirs and your throats together to meet like a bridge.
This beautiful blue violet light connects you throat to throat and you realize this is connected to that golden light moving up and down from the navel to the throat and you realize that a purification of all your communications is happening now.
That within you,
You are increasing your capacity to communicate with clarity and with less need for explanation because you are now emanating your intent.
See the flow begin again in the picture in your mind.
There is no longer a freeze frame.
See yourself interacting with a person or another person or many people.
See it flowing almost magically.
You almost feel like you are kids again and you are playing.
It is so magical.
It is so fluid.
As you meet more and more different people on this journey,
You notice even things that might trigger you or have triggered you,
They still play off beautifully.
They have this seemingly underlying rhythm now.
There is a way about them.
That means only to delight.
And you realize this ebb and flow between you and any other person is a dance.
No matter how it occurs,
It is beautiful.
So you stop in this movement along your regular street and you close your eyes and you know that you are at the same time still on the river bank.
With eyes closed,
You feel your feet touching the rocks.
You feel the language of the river.
And you speak in your mind the words again of the Sankalpa.
I have a healthy,
Vibrant relationship with myself.
And so it is with those in my environment.
You feel it welling up in you again.
I have a healthy,
Vibrant relationship with myself.
And so it is with those in my environment.
I have a healthy,
Vibrant relationship with myself.
And so it is with those in my environment.
And you feel these words so much that they sink into all of your cells.
They know they have a healthy relationship.
With a few deep breaths that move naturally into your form,
You hear the sounds that are both here at the river in your mind and around the place where your physical body is relaxed on the surface practicing yoga nidra.
Listen to the sounds again.
Hear them near and far.
Notice textures of blankets and clothing touching you.
And visualize the room you are in or the area you are practicing.
In your mind's eye,
Get another mental picture.
Remember,
Bring to mind the picture of this room or this space.
See yourself in it,
Relaxed and practicing.
See yourself vividly.
And now begin to notice contact points between your body and the surface on which you are relaxing,
Beginning at your head and moving downward towards your feet,
Realizing indeed the mother earth is holding you,
Has been holding you all through this time,
And is by extension you,
Taking care of you.
Feel all those contact points,
Become aware of them.
Imagine you can breathe in and out of them.
Feel that stream near you again,
Brought you calmness,
Carried away tensions,
As you begin to become aware of your existence here,
Relaxed.
As we come to the end of the practice of yoga nidra,
Become aware of your body.
Become aware of your physical body.
And begin to wiggle fingertips and toes,
Move your head from side to side.
Hari om tatsat.
The practice of yoga nidra is over.
Hari om.
Take your time to begin to move,
Stretch.
As you come out of the practice,
Move slowly and with honor for this relationship you have with your body,
With yourself.
Take your time to stretch.
Keep your eyes closed as long as it's necessary,
As you honor the shift in consciousness,
Drawing and integrating all parts of you now.
The practice of yoga nidra is complete.

Before listening to this for the first time I saw some of the other reviews, that said that they did not like the fast pace with the body awareness part. I honestly really liked the pace! I have difficulty with overthinking and usually struggle to focus on guided meditations, but I think this pace really was helpful for me. I did not have my usual "chatterbox mind" during this meditation. Even if you don't like the quick pace, the rest of this is really nice and worth listening to! 😊

Wow! I really enjoyed this meditation very much. The pace was quick during the body scan. I managed to keep up though. I will listen again. So glad I listened to my own inner guidance and decided to try this meditation. Thank you 🙏 ❤️🙏
