This is a three minute compassion meditation.
Sit up comfortably and take some grounding breaths.
Once we've calmed ourselves down and found a comfortable position,
Let's bring to mind a moment where we felt safe and cared for.
We can be from a person,
An experience,
A place,
An animal.
Just a moment where you felt cared for and loved.
And allow that to rest in your heart.
Feel that warmth in your heart.
For the next minute in our minds,
We'll repeat the mantra or the phrase,
May be happy,
May be free from suffering.
The wish of may be happy is the wish of love.
The wish of may be free from suffering is the wish of compassion.
May be happy,
May be free from suffering.
Sending this intention to all the animals,
All the people,
All the beings in this world.

Know that you have the potential to develop compassion at any moment.
Know that you have this power within yourself and you can share it with others if you so choose.
