Now adjust your body,
Your legs,
Your arms,
Or your back,
Or your neck.
Let every inch of you be entirely at ease.
Lay your arms alongside your body,
Palms facing upwards.
Gently tilt your chin to ensure your spine is aligned.
Then close your eyes and just take a moment to be present.
Now inhale deeply through your nose,
Capturing the world around you.
Hold it,
And exhale with a soft sigh,
Letting go of all your burdens.
Repeat this breath,
Feeling the nourishment it brings,
And then the release as you let it out.
Now as you breathe naturally,
Let the weight of your body merge with the ground.
Envision the energy of the earth cradling you,
Supporting you.
Allow your awareness to drift to your face.
Relax your forehead and the space between your brows.
Loosen the tiny muscles around your eyes and unclench your jaw.
Feel the pulse in your temples,
Soothing away all thoughts.
Focus on your intention for this practice,
Perhaps something like,
I'm delving deep into serenity.
Now let's embark on a journey of consciousness,
Becoming more and more aware of your body.
Bring your attention to the soles of your feet.
Can you sense the beat of life that lives here?
Now shift your focus to your ankles and up to your knees.
Ascend your awareness,
Climbing your thighs,
Your hips,
And up to your navel.
Travel this consciousness to the palms of your hands,
Your wrists,
And your forearms,
And your elbows.
Bring your awareness up to your shoulders,
And then down your chest,
Your heart center,
And finally rest it on the steady rhythm of your breath.
Imagine the gentle ebb and flow of the ocean's tide each time you breathe in and out,
The similarity in their rhythms.
Now move your consciousness to the heart.
See it as a radiating sun,
Casting beams of golden light with every heartbeat.
Bring your focus to rise to the third eye,
The space between your brows,
And visualize a calming indigo light radiating from this space,
Spreading tranquility throughout your body.
Begin to feel the connection of your body to the space around you,
The ambient sounds,
The air,
The essence of life.
And as you feel ready,
Begin to wiggle your fingers and your toes,
Start to stretch your arms and your legs,
And gently welcome movement back into your body.
