
Alchemizing Fear
In this mediation practice you will be invited to alchemize anxiety into love through a gentle yet powerful visualization process. We will start with some deep breathing and connect to the body through light touch. Then you will be invited to imagine yourself in a beautiful forest where you will receive sacred earth and sky energy. As you make your way deeper into the forest you will discover a protected sanctuary where you will have the opportunity to transform your anxiety into love.

Hello and welcome to this guided meditation on alchemizing fear into love and gratitude.
This is a process of transforming the energy,
Taking that energy of anxiety and stress and changing it or alchemizing it into a sense of love and gratitude.
So before we begin,
Find a comfortable position.
Create a space for yourself where you can be present without interruptions.
So whether you're lying down or sitting up,
Take a position that's comfortable for you where you can allow your body to be at ease.
And notice as you settle in if there's a lot of energy inside of you.
Maybe a lot of fear or worry or anxiety that's happening and you can really sense that.
Notice what you feel drawn to do next as we sit and practice.
Something that might be helpful for you is just to take a moment to look around the room.
You can look up and down,
Look at objects closer and farther away from you,
And just take a moment.
Don't focus too long on any one object,
But just allow yourself to gaze and look around.
You might look behind you,
You might look for exits,
Doorways,
Windows,
Things like that.
Now you can let your gaze be soft now,
Just let it drop.
And if you like,
You can go ahead and close your eyes and take a deep breath in.
Just allow that air to fill your chest and your belly.
You might hold the breath at the top,
And then when you're ready,
You can slowly exhale gently through the mouth.
And take another deep breath in,
And just feel that if it's the cool,
Refreshing air,
Or just notice the quality or the nature of the air coming into your body.
Again,
Holding at the top,
And then as you breathe out,
See if you can let go of tension,
Any strain in the body.
Just see if anything wants to be released through the breath,
On the out-breath.
Again,
Take another deep breath in.
Just hold,
And then breathe out,
Again releasing any tension that wants to leave in this moment.
So see now if you can continue to breathe,
Just slowly and gently,
Until you find a natural rhythm that feels right for you.
And if you haven't already,
Just go ahead and close your eyes completely.
And it might be helpful at this point to place a hand,
Or both hands,
Over your chest,
Over your heart.
Or you might choose to place one hand on the chest,
And one hand on the belly.
Just a gentle,
Light touch,
And you might vary the pressure just a little bit.
So press down into the body,
And then ease up,
And just vary the pressure.
And notice again as you're breathing,
Notice as the air is coming in and out,
You're just finding that gentle flow and rhythm of the breath.
And as you bring awareness to your hands,
Just notice those sensations in the body,
As your hands make contact with your body.
But also notice inside of your hands,
From the perspective of your hands,
And notice the sensations of the body,
From that perspective as well,
From the fingertips touching the body,
Perhaps touching the clothing.
Just noticing that,
Being aware of that,
Being aware of warmth or coolness on the skin.
So let your hands take a comfortable position to your sides,
Or whatever works best for you.
And I'll invite you now just to imagine yourself in your mind's eye.
You might see yourself standing in a beautiful,
Lush forest.
And here you are,
You look down and you see that you're barefoot,
And you're standing on the earth,
And you see the earth beneath you,
And you can feel under your feet the soft,
Supportive ground beneath you.
Let yourself connect with this ground.
Just allow your feet to savor the texture,
The coolness,
The earthy surface below.
And you might imagine a connective energy,
Deep from within the earth,
Rising up to meet you,
Rising up through the soles of your feet,
Bringing a rich,
Nurturing calm into your body.
And you might imagine your energy going down into the earth to meet this energy of the earth.
So making that connection.
And as you make that connection with the earth,
You might also bring your awareness to the warm sunlight,
The sky above you.
You might notice that the sky above you is a little bit the sky above you.
You might notice a beautiful canopy of green leaves and branches overhead.
Perhaps there's a gentle breeze.
As it rustles the leaves,
You can see beautiful rays of golden sunlight shining down.
You might allow this light,
This warmth to wash over you.
You might breathe in the refreshing air of the forest.
And just allow this warm light to come into your presence,
Into your body.
You might notice this warm light coming down into your heart and filling your heart with love and connection.
Now turn your awareness back to the forest floor and you notice a path nearby.
You notice a path nearby.
Imagine yourself stepping towards this path.
You're curious where this path leads and so you take a step on the path and then another step.
As you walk along this path through the forest,
You soon notice a clearing up ahead.
There's even more warm gentle light in this space.
And as you step into this light,
You feel an immense amount of safety and peace enveloping you.
It feels like a cloak of protection and there's a deep sense of tranquility and calmness that is There's a deep sense of tranquility and calmness that is surrounding you.
It almost feels like you're being wrapped in love and contained in love.
And this sacred clearing is your sanctuary,
A space and a place where only love and safety can flourish.
This is your safe space where you can come when the world feels overwhelming.
And now you see at the heart and the center of this clearing,
There stands a majestic tree.
It's the most beautiful tree you have ever seen.
Its large branches extend out and upward.
This is an ancient tree with roots that spread deep into the earth.
As you approach this tree,
You place your hand on its bark.
As you approach this tree,
You place your hand on its bark.
You feel the texture.
You feel its ancient wisdom.
You sense its stability.
It's almost as if you are a part of this tree,
That you are connected to its essence.
You feel the pulse of its aliveness within you.
So you might feel drawn to sit down and place your back against this tree or lie down on the grass below it.
Make yourself comfortable here in this space.
And now notice on the ground you see about a fist-sized rock.
You're able to pick it up.
Notice its texture,
Its color.
Notice its shape.
Notice its weight in your hand.
This is a symbolic representation of the anxiety,
The stress,
The anxiousness that you've been experiencing.
And just see if you can examine this rock.
Notice if there's patterns.
Notice the color.
Notice its temperature.
Is it difficult to hold?
Or is it something that you want to protect?
Is it something you don't want others to see?
You might be surprised to find this rock here because this is your sanctuary.
This is a space of safety and love and connection.
And because you're connected to this safe space,
You're able to witness and be with this anxiety in a different way.
You didn't realize that it could show up here in this space,
But it's okay.
And notice now that you're being invited to release this rock,
Release this anxiety.
So you might imagine this rock dissolving,
Turning back into earth or falling into the earth,
Crumbling away like sand.
As that rock dissolves,
You might imagine it going down into the earth and being absorbed by the tree.
Or perhaps you might imagine that you're able to give this rock,
You're able to set this rock down at the roots of the tree and watch as the tree is able to alchemize it.
Watch as the tree is able to bring this rock and transform it and make it a part of itself.
Whatever energy that was bottled up inside of this rock is now being used to strengthen the tree.
Now this process might come as a surprise to you.
Perhaps you didn't realize that this was possible.
And you might take a moment to ask the tree or ask your higher self,
What can I learn from this?
What is this process showing me?
And you might ask if there's anything else that the tree or your higher self is wanting you to experience or learn at this time.
Is there anything else that you need to know about this process of transforming anxiety and fear into nutrients,
Into love?
Now you might take a moment before you leave this sacred sanctuary to thank the tree or give thanks for this experience,
For the lesson,
For the message that has been brought into your life.
You can express gratitude to know that the fear,
The anxiety can be transformed into love.
And you might imagine the light in this sacred place becoming brighter and warmer and filling the whole space.
This light expands and fills your entire being with love and gratitude.
As you imagine this light,
You can breathe it in and breathe it out.
You are experiencing a profound and deep sense of unity and belonging as you experience this light.
You might bring awareness to a few phrases or affirmations that want to be spoken.
You might bring awareness to a few thoughts that you want to share with the tree or your higher self that want to be spoken,
Such as,
I am safe.
I am grounded.
I am connected.
I am loved.
Notice what words and phrases resonate with you the most.
You might give a heartfelt bow or gesture of gratitude and thanks for this moment.
Imagine yourself walking out of this sacred space,
Knowing that you can return anytime.
Walking back on the path,
Going back into the forest,
Feeling renewed,
Feeling safe.
Feeling changed,
Feeling connected.
You might take one last look around the forest.
Breathe in the energy of that space.
And when you're ready,
You might slowly open your eyes.
Noticing yourself in this space,
In this room that you're in.
No need to make subtle movements,
Just gently being here,
Gently becoming more aware of your body.
Becoming more aware of the room or space that you're in.
Remember,
You can come back and do this practice again to help you access that sense of safety,
Love,
And connection.
Always remember that you are an important part of this life,
This web of life,
That you are supported,
You are loved.
May you find peace in your journey and a profound sense of belonging wherever you go.
