The energy of craving,

That pulling on every fiber of our being,

The battle between the mind and the heart,

Wanting to use and not wanting to use,

Wanting to be present and wanting to escape.

I invite you on a journey of presence with this moment and to find freedom deep within your heart center.

To move through your craving is to better know and love yourself,

To gain the strength and the courage to walk through life on life's terms,

To find peace inside of suffering and light inside of the dark.

So for this moment,

Just be here now,

Letting go of the future,

Coming right into the present with this intent.

Now take a really big deep breath in,

Allow yourself to feel all that you are feeling and exhale,

Surrendering your body,

Your mind,

And your spirit to the energy of the universe.

Another big deep breath in,

Allow everything that wants to come forward to come,

Exhaling and surrender.

Allow your breath to get deeper,

Hear that breath as you exhale,

Sigh it out.

Now notice what you're feeling in your body as you breathe,

Asking your body to show you what is behind that craving.

See if you can find the emotion instead of the story.

Often something triggers us into wanting to use and we fixate on that story.

As you close your eyes and breathe,

Finding that feeling,

I want you to imagine yourself transported to a landscape of your choice,

Somewhere that feels safe and nourishing,

A place that brings you joy,

The forest,

The ocean,

The desert.

Allow this landscape to hold space for your story.

Whatever it is that's triggered you,

Really deepen into the colors and the plants and the trees and the water.

Call on any higher power,

Helping spirit or guide,

Ancestor,

And finding that story deep within your mind.

Take a deep breath in,

Exhale,

And send it outside of your body along with the feelings that are attached.

Allow them to swirl in the landscape as image or color or light.

Keep breathing in and keep exhaling it out of your body into this space.

Instead of expression,

Suppression,

Or escaping these feelings,

You are letting them out of your body.

You are feeling them as they move through.

You are watching them in this sacred space,

Acknowledging them.

I want you to think of courage,

The energy of courage,

To move you from fear,

Anxiety,

And craving into peace.

A beautiful lion comes into your landscape.

You can feel the energy of courage,

Confidence,

And strength.

It moves up towards you,

Its face right in front of yours.

You put your forehead on that lion's face and begin to breathe in the courage,

Breathe in the strength.

You can be present in this world.

You can choose to love yourself,

To move through this experience,

To get out of the story so you can experience something different after.

Breathe that courage in.

What a gift it is to sit with our emotions,

What strength and courage it takes.

Now be here.

Continue to be present,

To acknowledge what you're feeling,

And have great compassion for yourself as you surrender and let go.

Another minute,

Another moment,

Free from using,

Free from addiction,

Trusting in the path you have chosen to do something different.

Surrender here with immense gratitude for yourself.
