This is a guided meditation to help support you if you are feeling anxious,
Depleted by your thoughts,
Or if you simply need to calm the mind.
No matter how you are showing up today,
I'm happy that you're here.
In this meditation,
We will explore the beauty of non-attachment and how it can help us to surrender to the thoughts and sensations that arise throughout the body.
Non-attachment is a practice of non-judgment,
The practice of holding space for ourselves without reacting to the internal chatter of the mind.
So start by finding a place where you will not be disturbed,
And start to tune in.
What is present for you today?
What sensations are arising in the body?
Just observe,
And know that whatever comes up at this time is okay.
If your mind starts to wander,
Do not force your focus.
Instead,
See if you can imagine yourself sitting on a riverbed.
If thoughts come into your consciousness,
Gently watch them float away and return to the body.
Ask yourself,
What am I resisting today?
When we resist our emotions,
Our bodies,
Our circumstances,
We can cause ourselves to suffer.
We have the power to become the great watcher of all that goes on internally.
When we sit and watch without judgment,
We're practicing non-attachment,
And we can greatly relieve ourselves from suffering.
So instead of assigning judgment,
Let's give place,
Let's give peace.
So I invite you to breathe into whatever you may be resisting.
Take a slow,
Gentle inhale.
And on the exhale,
Surrender to what is alive for you now.
We'll do a few more rounds together.
Inhale to the count of three.
And exhale to the count of six.
Inhale to the count of three.
And exhale to the count of six.
And here I invite you to go on your own journey.
If your mind starts to wander,
I welcome you to recite the following mantra silently in your mind or out loud if it supports you.
I give myself unconditional permission to feel.
I welcome all feelings without judgment or shame.
I give myself unconditional permission to feel.
I welcome all feelings without judgment or shame.
And now on your own,
When it's time to return,
I will guide you out with this sound.
Slowly release your mantra and start to return to the body.
I welcome you to invite gentle movement here if it feels good.
And as you return to your surroundings,
I invite you to thank yourself for taking the time to cultivate peace.
And remember that this space is always available to you.
Namaste.
