This meditation will help you to deal with feelings of anxiety that can often lead to excessive thinking and worrying and possibly even a feeling of panic.
Anxiety is a very deep emotion that is caused when I focus on the future and the insecurities that lie in moving forward without knowing what's going to happen.
Anxiety arises when I'm faced with situations in life that appear to be very dark,
Unknown and different to what I'm used to.
Anxiety is a normal emotion that arises when I am thrown out of my comfort zone.
I may just feel nervous in the beginning,
But if I sustain that nervousness,
It starts to create anxiety.
What is going to happen?
How on earth is this story going to end?
How are things going to work out for me or my loved ones?
These are the normal thoughts that arise when I'm faced with situations that I've never encountered before.
Faith and courage are the natural midsum to help to deal with anxiety.
To develop faith,
I need to recharge my inner self and I need to reset my compass of life to positive from negative.
Faith results from having experiences of feeling protected and of focusing on what works rather than what doesn't work.
Faith is the opposite of fear.
So let me connect the core of my being.
Let me connect with my inner self and remind myself that life is a journey.
There are times in life when things appear to be very smooth.
Everything is in control and it's easy.
And there are other times in life when I feel like my whole world has been turned upside down.
When there is so much uncertainty,
When I can't see a way out,
When I develop feelings of anxiety for myself,
For others or even for the world in general.
It's so important for me to remember that it's at these times of uncertainty,
Of insecurity,
When I learn and grow.
It's at these times that my little comfort zone expands.
It's as though my heart enlarges.
I learn to develop the courage to face obstacles,
To face challenges and difficulties,
Knowing that perhaps there is a learning hidden in the situation.
Perhaps there is an aspect of growth for me in what I am going through.
Perhaps I just need to learn to have faith in something greater than my current self.
Can I now expand my heart?
An anxious heart is very small because anxiety and worry limit the way I think and feel.
They don't allow me to see beyond the current moment,
The current situation.
Can I expand my heart so that the entire challenge I'm facing is embraced by my heart and I accept the challenge,
The difficulty,
The distress and I create in myself the positivity that there will be a good outcome.
Feel your inner heart expanding.
And as your heart expands,
You are filled with courage.
The courage to move forward,
The courage to face,
The courage to see beyond the problem.
The courage to connect with the outcome,
The positive result at the end.
The courage to keep your focus on that light at the end of the tunnel.
The courage to keep hope and faith alive.
So that even when feelings of anxiety or worry come up,
You now have the heart to be bigger than the problem and the sight to see beyond today,
Beyond this present moment and know that everything will be okay.
Everything will be okay.
And as I settle into this feeling that everything is okay and will be even better,
I realize that every step of this journey of life is nothing but a learning,
Is nothing but growth,
Is nothing but a strengthening of my inner spirit.
And I repeat to myself,
Everything is okay and will only get better.
