The negative bias in our brain loves to lead our attention to the negative things in life, to the dissatisfaction, to what is lacking. This meditation helps you shift your attention from focusing on your physical flaws and edges, on to what you embrace about your looks and your body. It will set a trigger to when you are criticizing yourself again, to then tap into your power and glow in confidence, instead of residing in low energy.

Hi there,

Welcome to this body loft guided meditation practice.

I invite you to take a comfortable position,

Either lying down or sitting up if you want to keep more focus.

Maybe cross-legged on your meditation pillow,

On your mat,

On your sofa,

Placing your hands on your knees.

And if you haven't already,

Gently closing your eyes and gently and quietly tuning your attention inwards,

Leading them into your heart space,

Towards your heart space,

Connecting with your breath.

And with every inhale that we take,

We arrive a little bit more and more within ourselves.

With every exhale that we take,

We ground ourselves a little bit more in this very moment,

In this very space,

Connecting ourselves a little bit more with the surface underneath us.

Feeling that flow of breath centering ourselves,

Letting those waves of the inhales and exhales find ourselves with our inner being more and more tuning into the here and into the now.

Sometimes we find it hard to love our body for what it is and how it is,

With all edges and all flaws.

And we get a little bit manipulated by advertisement and by pictures that we're confronted with,

Where we actually know that they might not be 100% realistic,

But often neglect that knowledge a little bit and compare ourselves to that anyway.

And then when looking at ourselves in the mirror or looking down at this wonderful gift of our body,

We tend to look or knack about the things that we're not 100% happy with.

That is a negative bias in our brain working,

Always pointing out the things that are not good,

That are not perfect,

That we would wish to be differently.

But actually we're not serving anyone by making our body down,

By not appreciating it for what it is and for what it gives us.

And we would help ourselves most if we just tuned into our highest energy anyway and just appreciated our body for the miraculous gift that it provides us.

So I invite you to bring into your mind's eyes a situation where you looked at yourself,

Where you weren't happy about what you were looking at,

Where you were looking at your flaws or criticizing your physical appearance.

Bring into your mind's eye a specific situation just recently or bring into your mind's eye that edge,

That flow about your body that sort of developed as a pattern that you're fighting against.

May it be your bum of not being too big or not being small or firm or tight enough,

Not being big enough.

May it be your thighs too thick,

Too thin,

Too small.

May it be your legs that are too long or too short.

May it be your boobs that are too big or too small.

May it be your face,

May it be your nose that is too big or too small or doesn't have the shape that you wish it had.

May it be your stomach that is not tight enough or that is too muscular.

There's always both ways,

Right?

There's always the too much of and the too little of,

But hardly ever the just perfect.

The negative vibes in our brain always find something to nag about.

So whatever that is,

Whatever your nagging pattern is,

Bring that into your mind's eye and look at it and really put yourself into that situation of looking at it and observe the emotions that come up that are connected to that flow of yourself.

What is it that the thoughts that start to come up?

Is it,

Ah,

This is so ugly.

I don't like that.

I hate that.

I wish you would be different.

Why is it that way?

I train so hard or I eat so well.

I look so well after myself and still I look this way.

Why can I not finally put on weight?

Why can I not finally have those round curves?

Why can I not finally lose weight?

Why can I not finally be a bit slimmer or whatever it is that you tell yourself.

Tune into that situation and fully tune into that energy.

Feel it in your heart space.

Feel the clenching that arises through it.

Feel the stiffness.

Feel that negativity that spreads in your head and in your heart,

In your chest,

Maybe in your stomach or wherever it,

You feel it.

Feel that energy that it takes away from you.

Feel how you lose yourself in that criticism.

Just observe that.

Observe that for a moment,

Really tuning into that emotion.

And now deepening your breath,

Taking a deep inhale and a deep exhale,

Another deep inhale and a deep exhale,

And with the next exhale that we take,

We decide to just let go of that emotion a tiny bit,

That we just take one step back from the mirror.

And that we just look at the entire being that we are from the very head to the very toes,

That we look at ourselves for who we are objectively,

Not subjectively by making ourselves down.

Really looking at that entire miracle that is standing in front of us,

Looking at ourselves and realizing who we are,

What gift we are,

What uniqueness that we hold within ourselves and how silly it is of us to criticize and make ourselves down.

Looking at that perfect being,

That perfect body of everything within it and around it,

Working in perfect synchronicity with each other,

Supporting us 24-7,

Supporting us all the way long,

Those legs,

No matter how much we're criticizing it,

No matter how much we're hating or disliking them,

Always carrying us,

Always working for us,

Always walking,

Always dancing,

Always jumping,

Always running,

No matter what energy we give them,

No matter how much appreciation we send them.

And that beautiful face with that uniqueness and everything about you,

Everything that you're looking at is what you have created in your life.

It is either partly what you have taken over from your parents,

From your family,

Which has created you.

And for other larger parts maybe,

It is the story,

It is a lifestyle,

It is the sum of all the emotions that you were ever having,

The sum of all struggles,

The sum of all strong points,

The sum of all weaknesses,

The sum of all periods of life where you had to eat more to compensate others,

The sum of all periods of life where you didn't eat because you were stressed or where you had your focus on somewhere else,

The sum of taking care of you,

Of working out and making your body sweat,

Or the sum of not having the mind to take care of your body because it was being occupied with something else that was of higher priority,

Or maybe the sum of being carrying a story of being sick or sickness of whatever it is that was happening that you were confronting with in your life.

All of that you're looking at right now in the mirror.

All of that you're seeing,

And all of that you understand all of a sudden.

And you understand that those little fat rolls around your stomach are just the beautiful dinners,

The sums of all those beautiful dinners that you had with your friends or your family,

All those laughs that you had,

All those beautiful glasses of wine that you would never have missed,

Wanted to miss,

That you would never have wanted to left out on,

That you would never want to actually change to not having that fat roll.

And if you had to decide in between fat roll and the sum of all those beautiful dinners,

Then without a second of having to think,

You would pick the sum of all those beautiful dinners and spending time with your family and friends.

And that is what you are.

That is who you're looking at.

That is all that you represent,

All that you stand for,

All that you have grown into.

And you realize that it's all good.

You realize that this is what you have decided for,

Or this is the priorities that you had.

This is what you didn't want to miss.

This is what you wanted to live.

And it's all good.

It's good.

Everything about you is good.

And those little edges,

They don't matter.

Those little flaws,

They're not really relevant.

And we might have the power to change them,

But always asking ourselves,

Is it worth changing it?

Is it really that important?

Where would you have to take yourself back on?

Where would you have to invest yourself in?

And is that what we want,

Or is that who we are looking at actually,

Who we want to be with everything that we do and everything that we are,

With all the flaws,

Accepting and appreciating?

And letting that perspective sink in your mind,

In your chest,

In your emotions for a second.

Reside in that faith and that acknowledgement in that realization,

Knowing that everything is good,

Knowing that all of what you are is a sum of position or happenings.

And all of those made it to the person that you are today.

And all of those have their right to be there,

And all of those are just all right.

And you're so much more,

So much more than those little flaws,

So much more than those little edges.

And they are the ones that make you to that unique being that you are today,

Which is good,

Which is perfect,

Which is hopefully healthy,

And which may be happy.

Bring a little smile onto your face to signalize your body that it may be happy,

That you're ready for it to release those happy hormones,

To tune in yourself into that energy of gratitude,

An appreciation towards your body,

Showing it that everything is all right,

There is no reason to fight and to criticize.

And relaxing your face,

Relaxing your muscles,

Letting that,

Those emotions drop deeply into your cells,

Into your tissue,

Into your entire being,

Quieting the mind,

Noticing any possible noises around you,

Feeling the surface underneath you,

Holding you up,

Feeling the crown of your head,

Your head,

Your neck,

Your chest,

Your stomach,

Your hips,

Your legs,

Your feet,

And your arms,

And feeling it all being connected,

Feeling it all working together for you to support you,

Feeling it all loving you,

And realizing that it all deserves being loved back.

Whenever you're ready,

Gently cracking your eyes back open and come back to the here and now.
