Welcome,
My name is Melanie Kiss and I am a professional certified NLP coach.
And today I wanted to talk to you about burnouts.
Specifically a bit of my story,
A little bit of what I have studied in the past as an NLP coach.
And maybe bring some light to your experience to overcome burnouts.
And it's quite interesting,
Well I find it quite interesting that my burnout,
Like many others,
Maybe,
I don't know,
Everyone is an individual and everyone experiences things differently but for me my burnout was something that I was living without even being aware of it when it first started.
And I kept going with life and everything that I was doing.
And I was happy.
I was completely happy in doing what I was doing and I felt alive and energized.
Yet there's always this part of me that felt a bit tired,
Slowly.
And when I mean tired,
Probably more of a mental fatigue over physical.
But my body was slowly following through with my mental fatigue.
And eventually I couldn't do anything anymore.
Yet it's funny because my husband today had no idea that I had gone through a burnout until I told him.
I was a fitness instructor and I would teach eight classes a week.
I was at my fittest in my 40s.
I participated in Spartan races and I feel great.
And at the time I was not conscious about my intention behind all of it because my original intention for doing my physical activity was to beat the chronic inflammation that had taken over my body for years and I had beat it.
But as time went by my intention changed without me even knowing about it.
And I believed that is what brought me to my burnout.
And so I eventually stopped everything.
And shortly after I started studying NLP.
Or I started NLP when I realized I was burning out.
I don't know.
It all kind of happened at the same time.
But I continued with my studies and did a lot of work on myself.
But you know one's journey is continuous and I was slowly peeling away at an onion removing past pains,
Past experiences that brought me pain and acknowledging feelings that I probably pushed aside for a very very long time.
And then the pandemic hit and I did nothing and it felt good.
I did absolutely nothing and I mean nothing in the sense of I did not work out.
I didn't try to post on social media to talk about fitness.
I actually wanted to move completely away from that subject.
Yet again part of me,
A piece of me was still not complete.
And you could try to run away from many things in your life but when your soul is connected to experiences and things that you love and want to do your soul speaks to you in many different ways.
And for me it asked me to stop and then it asked me to reflect and then it asked me to do nothing until I could figure out what it is that was important to me.
And it wasn't hard to figure out that it was what was important to me because quite often these are things that maybe you've done in the past a long time ago but the intention behind it is different.
And so I realized that I realized during my journey at school that I do exist and there are things that I love and that I want to do for myself.
And one of them was still fitness but my intention was completely different.
And it took me a while to mentally prepare myself for it because fitness did not mean to work out like I did in the past and to share how I shared in the past.
My intention was now to have a balance in my fitness life to completely avoid or continue to avoid the chronic inflammation in my body but also to share because I find it such a fantastic subject to share with others so they could find their happiness with their own bodies.
And so that burnout was kind of a blessing but let me tell you it probably took me two to three years to figure out that it was a blessing.
Two to three years.
So do not be discouraged if you're going through a burnout and want to stop completely everything that you're doing and searching for your purpose,
For your happiness,
For your inner peace.
It's there and it will show up but I find that it's important to really pay attention to some of those details that you already have within you and that speaks to you and there are things you might have to let go,
There are things that you're going to have to maybe embrace,
Acknowledge,
Make peace with.
These are some of the steps that I had taken to be able to beat that burnout and find that balance between my life personally and professionally but the journey is worth taking to be able to come out today and speak about it,
To speak about how burnouts could be completely and utterly exhausting and that you just want to stop everything from turning round and round and it will.
It will with just a bit of expansion of your mind allow yourself to take that expansion,
Allow yourself to exist,
Allow yourself to be yourself,
Allow yourself to not just follow others but do what your soul truly desires,
Allow yourself to be in the present moment without thinking about the future or the past all the time,
Allow yourself to pick up a hobby or something that you love to do and only do that and submerge yourself in just that without wanting an end result from it.
And as you practice this with many other things but this is the first step,
You'll slowly see the light at the end of the tunnel of your burnout.
Keep in mind today I'm a certified NLP coach,
I'm not a psychologist but I do have personal experience and I did get professional help as well and when you combine all those things it is possible to overcome burnouts.
I thank you today for being here and listening.
