Take Five is a short, five-breath practice. You can use it anytime you need a break or a pick-me-up. Sonia will guide you to stillness and allow you to center yourself in the present moment. Each breath will allow you to release accumulated tension that has crept in during the day. Think of this practice as a reset.

Welcome,

Allow yourself to find a comfortable posture for our short practice,

Either seated or lying down,

Bringing your body to stillness,

Closing your eyes if that is part of your practice,

Noticing how your body feels in this moment,

Finding the connection points between your body and the surface beneath you,

Allowing the support beneath you to hold you so that you can allow your body to relax.

Let's begin by taking a nice,

Long,

Slow inhale with a nice pause at the top and then a longer,

Slower exhale either through your nose or your mouth.

And let's do that again,

A nice,

Long,

Slow inhale and a long,

Slow exhale,

Allowing any stress and tension to melt away,

Any accumulated worries to slip out of your fingers and your toes.

Another long,

Slow inhale,

Seeing if you can extend that inhale and an even longer and slower exhale,

Noticing that perhaps the body has loosened any stressful points that the eyes have begun to settle in their sockets.

And again,

A nice,

Long,

Slow inhale with a pause at the top and that longer,

Slower exhale,

Letting the mind clear the rush of the day to evaporate.

And one more nice,

Long,

Slow inhale and that longer,

Slower exhale,

Taking a moment to set an intention or allow whatever kind positive words of affirmation are in your mind to surface.

What do you need to hear right now?

What will help you allow the rest of the day to unfold as it naturally needs to?

Allowing a smile to cross your lips,

Thanking yourself for coming to this short practice,

Taking the break that you needed just when you needed it,

And closing our practice with one more long,

Slow inhale and slow exhale,

Inviting some movement back into your body when you're ready,

Whatever you need,

Before opening your eyes and continuing on with your day.

Thank you so much for joining me.

Have a wonderful day.
